Chapter 7 Zhang Limin
"If you dare to utter another word, I will make a human lantern out of you today!"
Zhou Yan toyed with the gun in his hand, his smile undiminished, but his tone was icy: "Do you know what 'lighting a human lantern' is? That's the polite term. The common term is 'pouring human oil wax'... hanging you upside down, wrapping cloth around your feet, soaking it in oil, and letting the flames slowly burn from your feet... until you can't take it anymore and die of pain!"
Zhang Limin nodded submissively, raising his hands above his head.
Although our country never taught us what to do when someone points a gun at us... raising your hands above your head is never wrong! After all, that's how they do it in the movies!
He took the rope from Xiaobai's mouth, tied Zhang Limin up tightly, and struck him hard on the back of the head with the gun butt.
Zhang Limin's vision went black, and he passed out immediately.
Zhou Yan went out alone and dragged the four corpses to the window one by one.

Zhou Yan stood with his hands on his hips, satisfied, admiring the curtain of rain outside the window.
Quite a harvest! Quite a harvest indeed!
Turning around, he found Su Yanyue with red eyes, looking at her chaotic bedroom.
Her safe haven would no longer be able to shelter her from the wind and rain.
"Your home is no longer habitable. Forget about people; I don't think this door could even stop a mouse..." Looking at the "uniquely shaped" security door in front of him, Zhou Yan couldn't help but say.
Seeing her red-rimmed eyes, Zhou Yan felt bad inside. It had been over two months since the heavy rain started, yet the two sisters next door had never once come to him.
Even when they lacked water, even when they lacked medicine, even when Su Yanqiu was in a coma from a high fever, she never asked him for help until she was at the end of her rope.
Just as Zhou Yan wanted to offer a few words of comfort, he saw Su Yanyue bend down, attempting to drag the short man he had tied up tightly.
She was wearing Zhou Yan's slightly oversized white shirt and his white shorts. Her round, fair thighs were exposed to the air. When she bent over, the neckline of the shirt naturally hung down, facing directly toward Zhou Yan.
When she looked up, she met Zhou Yan's gaze. She had no intention or movement to look away, just shook her head with some regret.
Biting her lip, she said embarrassedly: "I can't drag him..."
Su Yanyue lowered her head in embarrassment. She had clearly agreed to help him, but in the end, she couldn't do anything, like a piece of trash.
"Stop it. Go home, pack up your and your sister's clothes, and move in!"
Upon hearing these words, Su Yanyue blushed immediately.
But seeing her just keeping her head down, not knowing what she was thinking, Zhou Yan suddenly wanted to test her.
He reached out and pulled her soft body into his arms, his hands not staying idle either.
Su Yanyue felt very ashamed. It was different from the romantic intimacy they shared in the past; instead, it was a shame stemming from the role reversal and the transactional relationship between them.
The deep-in-thought Su Yanyue suddenly woke up and pressed down on Zhou Yan's mischievous hand. They were in the hallway right now!
And there was someone lying right next to them!
Zhou Yan tucked back the stray hairs stuck to her forehead with sweat and gave her butt a heavy pat: "Go pack up!"
Su Yanyue covered the spot where Zhou Yan had ambushed her, her pretty face flushed red as she returned home to start packing the sisters' clothes.
Taking advantage of the gap while Su Yanyue went to get the clothes, Zhou Yan pushed open the fire door in the hallway.
Behind the door, the floor was covered in trash, mostly food packaging bags, dirty toilet paper, and used condoms.
These people were truly talented. Looking at the food packaging on the floor, it was likely that many people had obtained food through robbery, deception, or trade, but they had all consumed it right there in the hallway.
In the apocalypse, you really see people's true colors. I'm afraid these people who chose to finish their food in the hallway probably had family members waiting for them at home...
They really didn't bring any home at all!
The hallway was very quiet.
There were four households on his floor: his own, and the Su sisters'.
Another household was occupied by The Young Man, who always wore gold-rimmed glasses and could be said to be the most handsome man in the entire residential complex!
Zhou Yan knew he was being kept by a wealthy woman!
Because that wealthy woman had come once a long time ago, around 3:00 AM, and they happened to meet in the elevator.
If you said they were mother and son, the banter in their conversation didn't seem like it.
If you said they were a couple, both the age gap and the physical difference were a bit too absurd.
Back when he used to walk his dog, Zhou Yan had told Yan Yue that the handsome neighbor might be an "old-model Tiger tank driver."
Both of them understood instantly. From then on, whenever they met that young man in the elevator, the two sisters and Zhou Yan would start looking at him with a "unique" gaze...
There was one more household, a young couple who had been married for four or five years but hadn't produced a child.
Since the heavy rains began, he hadn't seen the couple step out once; perhaps they had sufficient supplies at home.
Soon, Su Yanyue returned, pulling a black suitcase. Zhou Yan picked up the bald man with one hand and brought Su Yanyue back home.
On the other side, Zhang Limin, who had been dragged into the room by Zhou Yan, was "playing dead."
His short body was tied into a "ball" by Zhou Yan. He kept his eyes tightly closed, waiting for an opportunity, wanting to see if he could make a desperate comeback.
His small eyeballs beneath his eyelids rolled around from time to time, but his mouth remained wide open.
Zhou Yan sat on the floor and, without a word, grabbed a dagger and stabbed it into the calf of his leg.
"Hiss... Pfft!"
Zhang Limin gasped sharply. He couldn't keep up the act anymore; it hurt like hell!
"Brother... hiss... you're going a bit too far... it's just a few clothes... is it really necessary?"
Zhou Yan pulled out the dagger; the position was very clever, with no major arteries or veins there.
Zhou Yan wiped the blood off the dagger with a rag and said coldly: "Don't take me for a fool. Your goal is very clear—you were aiming for the Su sisters, right?"
In one sentence, he gently tore off Zhang Limin's disguise.
Zhang Limin spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva.
"Damn it! I never expected you to have a gun! Without a gun, it's hard to say who would win! Stop wasting your breath and just shoot me!"
"Even without a gun, killing you wouldn't be difficult. Having a gun and not using it is idiotic. Why would I risk a hand-to-hand fight with so many of you? Am I that stupid?"
Zhang Limin gritted his teeth, still looking unconvinced.
He was trying to see if he could provoke The Young Man in front of him with his words. As long as he could get him to put down the gun and fight one-on-one, he might not necessarily lose!
Zhou Yan didn't speak, just cut a new wound on his other leg. This cut didn't avoid the blood vessels in his leg, and for a moment, blood gushed out like a fountain.
"Damn! What the hell do you want!"
The intense pain made Zhang Limin's body twitch uncontrollably, but because he was tied up so tightly, he could only twitch on the spot like a small electric motor.
"I ask, you answer..."
"Why the hell should I..."
The dagger he had just pulled out was stabbed back in. Then, Zhou Yan slowly applied force to his wrist, and the dagger stuck in his calf began to rotate slowly.
"Okay... okay... I'll answer! Just stop torturing me!"
