12: Chapter 12 Fellow Daoist, do not be anxious, I will help you.
Yao Banmeng burst into laughter, tickled by Xiao Tian's shameless remark. Her entire body shook, causing her chest and hips to jiggle together, which was quite... eye-catching.
The surrounding male Cultivators couldn't help but cast glances, scrutinizing her graceful figure.
Xiao Tian frowned uncomfortably and stepped forward slightly, blocking the majority of the blatant stares for Yao Banmeng.
The more Yao Banmeng looked, the more she laughed, sighing towards Luo Yunkai, "What an interesting person. It's a pity he is your own son; otherwise, I would definitely take him back and dote on him properly."
Boom!
Xiao Tian's entire face turned red.
Luo Yunkai looked at his Cheap son and this Outer Sect Disciple of the Qingyun Sect with amusement, stroking his beard, "This old man doesn't object to this marriage."
Yao Banmeng rolled her eyes, "Fellow Daoist really knows how to joke."
Playing around is fine, but marry a Mortal? Not even a hundred thousand Spirit Stones would suffice!
Xiao Tian held no favorable feelings for Yao Banmeng, but being so bluntly rejected in front of his father made his heart feel as if it were drenched in hot oil, causing him immense agony.
He had embarrassed his father.
Luo Yunkai noticed his Cheap son's low spirits. His eyes darkened slightly, but his gentle demeanor remained, "Indeed, it was a joke."
You? You are fit to be the wife married with full rites to my son? You'd be more suited as a concubine to bear and raise children for me!
It would also be a good opportunity to verify if the education fund, meant for direct Bloodline descendants, can extend its benefits to grandchildren.
Yao Banmeng thought Luo Yunkai was backing down due to the difficulty, and she smiled dismissively, not taking the previous conversation to heart at all.
"We have arrived, Fellow Daoist, please come in."
Before entering the private compartment, Luo Yunkai glanced behind him at the two Qi Refining Great Perfection Cultivators who had clearly boarded the Cloud Carriage Service later than him but somehow managed to obtain compartment tickets.
The corners of his white beard lifted secretly. Luo Yunkai glanced at Yao Banmeng as if watching a show, then stepped into the compartment with his Cheap son.
The flying boat started an hour later.
The Cloud Carriage Service was right beside the Market. Once it started, it flew away from the Yunyin Market in the blink of an eye.
Luo Yunkai immediately took out a barrier talisman and placed it on the compartment door.
Yao Banmeng looked somewhat surprised, "Fellow Daoist is being overly cautious."
Luo Yunkai smiled faintly, "Better safe than sorry."
Yao Banmeng shook her head. This was a flying boat heading to the Qingyun Sect; who would dare cause trouble on board? As for those guards, Yao Banmeng didn't take them seriously.
The flying boat's speed was incredibly fast, much quicker than Luo Yunkai using his Divine Movement Technique. Xiao Tian looked out the window at the clouds, which were sweeping past too quickly to capture any trace.
It was his first time in the sky, and his eyes were filled with curiosity, yet he was afraid of embarrassing his father in front of outsiders.
Luo Yunkai didn't think so; he was happy to let Xiao Tian broaden his horizons.
"Tian'er, come here."
Luo Yunkai stood gently by the compartment window and beckoned.
Xiao Tian glanced at Yao Banmeng, hesitating slightly.
Luo Yunkai patted the windowsill, "Tian'er, curiosity is just curiosity; there's nothing to hide. Once you look, you won't be curious anymore. Come!"
Xiao Tian, after all, had the Heart-Nature of a youth. He could no longer restrain himself and walked over.
When he walked to the window and looked down, he actually couldn't see anything clearly.
Because the flying boat was too fast, everything below flashed by as a blurry streak; the eyes simply couldn't react in time.
Looking for even a moment longer made him feel dizzy, so Xiao Tian quickly closed his eyes to recover.
Luo Yunkai's gentle voice sounded near his ear, "How was it? What did you feel?"
Xiao Tian thought for a moment, "It seemed... just so-so."
Yao Banmeng let out a chuckle. Wasn't it just so-so? They, the Cultivators, had countless ways to fly through the air and burrow underground; only Mortals found flying in the sky to be some grand, remarkable event.
"But, the field of vision is wider, you see more."
Xiao Tian ignored Yao Banmeng's ridicule and continued describing his feeling.
Luo Yunkai was very satisfied. He patted his Cheap son's shoulder, "Not bad. Cultivating the Dao, Cultivating the Dao, is just about having a broader field of vision and seeing more."
"Just so-so."
Therefore, there was absolutely no need to feel guilty or timid just because he hadn't Cultivated.
Xiao Tian understood. He opened his eyes, and the self-conscious apprehension he thought he had hidden deeply quietly dissipated.
Luo Yunkai stroked his beard, "Now that's my son!"
"Bang—"
Yao Banmeng suddenly stood up and looked towards the compartment door.
"Bang bang!"
Two more attacks landed, and the spiritual light of the barrier talisman stuck to the compartment door dissipated by more than half.
Yao Banmeng looked on in disbelief, "Someone actually attacked on the flying boat? Who is so audacious!"
Luo Yunkai wasn't anxious at all. He placed an invisibility talisman on himself and Xiao Tian, remaining motionless by the window.
With another "bang," the spiritual light of the barrier talisman vanished, its effect completely lost.
"Bang!"
The door was violently blasted open, and two figures rushed through the opening.
Yao Banmeng was furious. She raised her hand, aiming at the two villains who had burst into the compartment. The flowing ribbon looped around her arm shot out.
The ribbon's ends targeted one person each.
"Tear!"
The incoming people were two genuine Qi Refining Great Perfection Cultivators, who were specifically trained killing tools. In just one exchange, they tore apart Yao Banmeng's ribbon Magical Artifact.
Yao Banmeng's greatest reliance was this Magical Artifact; now that it was ruined, she was effectively missing both hands.
"How long are you going to keep watching! I am a Qingyun Sect Disciple! If I die on this flying boat, none of you will escape consequences!" Yao Banmeng angrily roared upwards toward the top of the flying boat.
A look of shock flashed in the eyes of the two Cultivators who had charged into the compartment.
Not good!
The two immediately shifted their attacks, "We..."
"Fellow Daoist, don't rush, I will help you!"
Luo Yunkai appeared at the doorway at some unknown time, sending a palm strike towards the chest of one of the Cultivators.
A silver light flashed and vanished from his wrist.
"Chī!"
The silver light pierced into the chest of the Cultivator who broke the door.
"Pū!"
A mouthful of black blood sprayed from the Cultivator's mouth. In the next second, he collapsed to the ground, dead.
His accomplice's attack spell was aimed at Luo Yunkai, who was, in fact, his intended target.
But to Yao Banmeng and even the belatedly arriving guards, it appeared that he attacked Luo Yunkai only to avenge his companion's death.
Two defensive talismans on Luo Yunkai's body were consumed before he managed to block the man's attack.
The guards took action and apprehended the man.
Yao Banmeng watched the few flying boat guards and sneered repeatedly, "You all sure know how to pick up scraps!"
The head guard accepted the compliment calmly, "You flatter me."
Yao Banmeng was furious to death, "Give the person to me, I don't need you!"
The head guard nodded, "Fine, name your price!"
As he spoke, he kicked the apprehended Cultivator on the ground, "You figure out your assets yourself. If you can't match what the Qingyun Sect Disciple offers, you belong to her, understand?"
Yao Banmeng was choked with anger, but she truly couldn't do anything about a Foundation Establishment Cultivator, so she reluctantly took out ten thousand Spirit Stones as a base offer.
She assumed that anyone daring enough to attack her would have at least a few thousand Spirit Stones on them.
But looking at the Spirit Stones she presented, the person on the ground showed no reaction.
It seemed he had given up.
The head guard scoffed. If they didn't cooperate, couldn't she just take it herself?
Then they found his Storage Pouch. From inside, they poured out a few bottles of healing pills and one token, and nothing else.
"Where are the Spirit Stones?" The head guard angrily kicked the person.
Yao Banmeng's face darkened further.
She recognized that token.
