112: A mysterious fog!
"We've arrived."
A school bus slowly pulled to a stop in front of the main gate of a small town's government office.
Fang Bai, who had been resting with his eyes closed, opened them and glanced out the window.
"Where exactly did you bring me?"
On the gate outside, the words "Shangli Town Government, Tuoyuan City" were written, but the building was dilapidated, and there was no sign of people.
"This is the city where the Eye of the Storm in the Alien Space is located. The current surviving population of this small town is less than ten thousand."
Su Su explained.
This guy fell asleep as soon as he got on the bus, not even bothering to look at the detailed mission information. He was completely relaxed.
Fang Bai raised an eyebrow: "Less than ten thousand people? A small town should have at least over a hundred thousand, right? Did they all die?"
"Yes. When this place was invaded by the Alien Space, The Authorities' support arrived a few days late because of its remote location. In those few days, the human population here was almost wiped out."
Su Su's expression was serious: "It is said that when the Alien Space descended, it was accompanied by a large amount of dense fog covering the town. This poisonous fog is the hallucinogenic mist mentioned in the mission. Furthermore, it hasn't dissipated. It condenses every night. Even with the Demon Slaying Army stationed here, they have no solution for this fog."
"That sinister?"
Fang Bai frowned.
Su Su said, "It's getting dark soon. We need to find a place to stay."
Fang Bai nodded.
After the two got off, the school bus left the small town.
Almost no one worried about the martial arts academy's bus drivers. They always managed to deliver students to their various destinations, and it was rumored that every one of them was extraordinary.
Moreover, some of them were graduates of the academy who directly applied to be drivers, starting at a minimum of Tier 4 strength.
The town was large, but indeed deserted. After walking around the vicinity, neither of them found a decent storefront.
However, some abandoned hotel facilities were still intact. After entering, they were satisfied enough and decided to make do for the night.
"We'll stay next door. If anything happens, it will be easier to assist each other."
Su Su looked at Fang Bai and said.
The latter hesitated for a moment, then said, "Actually, we could just stay in one room. It would be even more convenient."
Su Su rolled her eyes and snapped, "Dream on!"
After speaking, she left Fang Bai with a beautiful view of her back and entered a room alone.
Fang Bai chuckled and also entered his room.
No one here would disturb them. Of course, the greatest worry was being disturbed—because the disturber might not be human!
Pulling back the curtains, Fang Bai looked down and surveyed the surroundings.
Faintly, he could see lights still burning nearby.
Evidently, although this place had been trampled by monsters, humanity had not given up on it, and some areas still had power supply.
Unfortunately, the area where Fang Bai was located was a severely affected zone, lacking both electricity and water.
But for Fang Bai, this wasn't a problem. Electricity was the one thing he had plenty of!
Fang Bai went straight to the hotel's power system and condensed the power of lightning in his hand.
Crackle!
Stimulated by the power of lightning, the hotel's entire electrical system briefly resumed operation!
Su Su, who was in her room, noticed this and her eyes lit up: "It seems teaming up was definitely the right decision!"
Having electricity meant she could wash up normally.
Su Su drew the curtains, then took out a change of clothes from her space ring.
Having traveled for two days, she was covered in sweat. For someone with mild mysophobia, taking a shower was an absolute joy!
Su Su naturally stripped off her clothes and entered the bathroom in her three-piece attire.
Her figure, comparable to that of a model, was enough to drive any man wild.
What Su Su didn't realize was that in a nearby shadow, two streams of nosebleed shot out.
At the same time, Fang Bai, having returned to his room, covered his nose: "See no evil, form is emptiness..."
He swore on Cao Cao that he had only intended to check on Su Su's status and absolutely had no intention of deliberately peeking at her showering!
Recalling his focus, Fang Bai sat cross-legged on the bed, his gaze clear. However, Fang Xiaobai was exceptionally energetic, though it was unclear what he had seen.
"Night is falling soon..."
Finally, at some unknown time, Fang Bai also fell into a deep sleep.
Night descended.
The entire small town plunged into darkness as if by mutual agreement. Everyone held their breath, preparing to welcome the arrival of the terrifying fog.
For the native residents, the night was as dangerous as fierce beasts and floods!
And indeed, there were fierce beasts and floods in the darkness!
A patch of white fog silently appeared in the town. It seemed to have been present in the air all along, only losing its disguise when night fell... The white fog was incredibly dense, visibility was very low, and it spread quickly. In less than half an hour, half the town was enveloped... Faint growls echoed within the white fog!
Inside a relatively intact house, a man held two girls in his arms. They were hiding in the room's closet, with the door and windows tightly sealed.
Not only that, but the closet they were in had been reinforced and was practically airtight!
The few people wore pre-prepared oxygen devices, their eyes filled with fear and unease.
"Brother Yusheng, we won't die here, will we?"
A girl in a purple vest with a hot figure whispered tremblingly.
"No! We've already survived two days. If we just hold out for one more day, the crew's ten million cash will be ours!"
The man named Yusheng said firmly.
It turned out they weren't locals either. They had come to this small town after being invited to participate in a variety show. Their mission was simple: whoever could survive in this town for three days would win a ten-million prize!
"But after two days, only three of us are left!"
Another girl with a high ponytail said tearfully.
Originally, ten people accepted the challenge, but now only three of them remained!
They had personally seen through a camera dropped by a companion how the fog spread in the darkness. Their companions walked voluntarily into the mist as if possessed, ultimately vanishing completely. By daytime, only severed limbs and broken arms remained on the ground... This made them realize why the crew only required them to stay here for three days!
"Don't be afraid. The fog only has a hypnotic effect. As long as we don't breathe it in, we will definitely survive! Ten million! With ten million, we'll be set for life!"
Brother Yusheng's expression was excited, as if he could already see stacks of cash waving at him!
Hearing this, the two girls also showed signs of greed.
After all, they had never seen that much money before!
While they were talking, the dark fog had already spread to their location. In just a few breaths, the small house was engulfed in the mist!
The three, watching the scene via a camera connected to a mobile phone, instantly felt their hearts pound!
At that moment, a pair of blood-red eyes suddenly appeared on the screen, staring intently at them!
The trio's pupils contracted. The next second, a burst of screams rang out!!
