459: Chapter 459 Yi Mu's Brother
After leaving Clear Leaf's home, Fang Bai arrived at a large tent.
Inside, he met with the former high-ranking officials of the Dragon Kingdom.
Murong Hai looked at him in surprise. "Is your body alright?"
Fang Bai waved his hand. "It's fine, I just exhausted myself a bit."
Murong Hai said with a complex expression, "We've troubled you again this time, requiring you to take action personally."
Fang Bai said indifferently, "It's no matter. It was a good chance to intimidate those petty people; it will make things go more smoothly for you in the future."
Murong Hai nodded. "That is indeed true."
Beside them, the Hall Master of the Dragon King Hall inquired, "When does Little Friend Fang plan to leave?"
Fang Bai said, "Soon. I can't stay here for too long."
He still had to deal with the little girl outside, Yi Mu.
"You can leave with peace of mind; we will handle things here," Murong Hai said.
Fang Bai nodded. "Then I'll leave it to you all."
Hadn't so many people in the Dragon Kingdom been managed well before? Thus, Fang Bai believed they could do it.
"Since you destroyed the Gu Family, some other Noble Families have extended olive branches to us. Their attitudes are quite polite, likely out of respect for you, so we can use their help to manage things in the future," the Hall Master of the Dragon King Hall said slowly.
Fang Bai said, "You won't be here for too long either. Once I find a suitable place, I'll let you out."
"That would be for the best then."
After settling some matters with the high-ranking officials, Fang Bai finally felt at ease to leave.
Returning to the wooden house, night had shrouded the world again. Only a few hours had passed since he disappeared, but inside, several days had gone by.
Fang Bai's perception spread out, and seeing that Yi Mu was sleeping soundly, he didn't disturb her much.
As a martial artist at Fang Bai's level, he wouldn't feel fatigued even without sleep, so he didn't sleep but instead worked on recovering from his injuries.
Fang Bai had borrowed power that exceeded his limits, causing his body to be unable to withstand it and resulting in side effects. His Undying Body wasn't of much help against these side effects.
Fang Bai thought to himself, 'Should I just die once?'
Just as he was thinking this, a voice suddenly rang in his ear.
Fang Bai's eyes narrowed. He opened them and looked toward the door.
In the next second, Fang Bai vanished.
Outside, the night eerily covered the entire world. Only a few stars, shining brilliantly above the darkness, provided a sliver of light.
Fang Bai arrived at a grassy clearing and looked at the figure that had appeared out of thin air before him.
The figure had its back to him, stood two meters tall, and wore a cloth robe.
Fang Bai couldn't sense the other's aura, so he assumed the other party was an existence with strength above his own.
He spoke first, his voice polite. "May I ask if the one who helped me before was you, Senior?"
The figure paused, then slowly turned around.
Fang Bai saw his true face. He looked somewhat similar to Yi Mu, with blue hair and blue eyes, hidden within the cloak. Those eyes sized Fang Bai up with a hint of curiosity.
"I see. You really do look like him."
The other party spoke.
Fang Bai was puzzled. Like? Like whom?
The Blue Elf said indifferently, "My name is Elaine, I am Yi Mu's brother."
Hearing this, Fang Bai was somewhat shocked. "Yi Mu has a brother? Hasn't she always been alone?"
Elaine nodded slightly. "That is true. I cannot see her. All these years, I have been protecting her from the shadows."
As he spoke, he looked at Fang Bai and said, "In all these years, you are the second guest to come here."
Fang Bai asked in confusion, "Who was the first?"
Elaine said, "Like you, he was a human."
Human!
Fang Bai understood; it could only be the White Emperor.
After all, in human civilization, only the White Emperor had broken through the civilization boundaries.
Fang Bai asked curiously, "Then after he came here, did anything happen?"
Elaine said, "Yes. At that time, he had a fight with Father."
Father!
Fang Bai asked, "Is the Father you speak of the same as Yi Mu's?"
Elaine gave him a strange look. "Of course. The intervention that day was also Father's doing."
Hearing this, Fang Bai understood.
He looked at Elaine and said, "Why don't you meet with your sister?"
Elaine's gaze was somewhat complex. "It's not that I don't want to, but that I cannot."
Fang Bai was completely confused.
Could there be some sort of rift between the siblings?
"Then what is your intention in seeking me out?" Fang Bai followed up with a question.
Elaine looked at Fang Bai and then said, "I have come to find you because I want to ask you for a favor."
Fang Bai wasn't stupid and seemed to have guessed something. "You want me to take care of Yi Mu for you?"
Elaine nodded. "Yes, because I have important matters to attend to and must leave for a while. I temporarily cannot protect my sister."
"What about your Father?"
Elaine looked at him. "Because he acted for you that day, Father has also encountered considerable trouble. He is currently dealing with that trouble."
Hearing this, Fang Bai fell silent.
It seemed that the other party helping him had also been subject to some constraints.
That meant the Father he spoke of was not the strongest here.
Fang Bai thought for a moment and then said, "If I may ask, when that human fought your Father back then, who won?"
Elaine recalled for a moment and then said, "There was no clear winner."
Hearing this, Fang Bai nodded. "I see."
A conservative estimate placed the White Emperor at the peak of the Tenth Rank, and that Bone Demon from the Evil Demon Clan was also an existence at the late Tenth Rank. Since Elaine's Father could suppress the Bone Demon, he was at least at the peak of the Tenth Rank.
If such a person wasn't the strongest, then did Eleventh Rank powerhouses exist in this civilization?
Fang Bai didn't know, but he hoped not. Since he had smuggled himself up from below, he was an outsider; if he were targeted by some big shot, he would be like meat on a chopping block.
Elaine looked at him and said, "Do you agree to my request?"
Fang Bai smiled. "Aren't you afraid I'll harm your sister?"
Elaine shook his head. "No. You are not that kind of person. My bloodline possesses a perception for auras. You... are not evil."
Fang Bai raised an eyebrow. So Yi Mu was willing to be friends with him because she sensed he was a good person?
Fang Bai didn't think he was some 'good person'.
"I can agree to it. After all, I promised your Father; he saved me, so I should do things for him." Fang Bai added, "However, I have one condition."
Elaine nodded. "Speak."
Fang Bai said, "Tell me about this civilization."
Elaine looked at him and asked, "You are not from this civilization?"
Fang Bai looked at him in confusion and asked back, "Did you not know?"
Elaine shook his head. "I did not. I only knew you were human."
Since the White Emperor could fight his Father to a draw, Elaine had never considered him an existence from a lower civilization.
"I come from the Human Race Civilization. Well, you could say it's a low-level civilization."
Fang Bai didn't explain too much.
Elaine nodded and then said, "This place is the Dark Star Domain."
