115: Chapter 115 Tai Chi True Qi

Chen Mo was not worried about Old Man Li, but he was somewhat worried about his granddaughter.

That granddaughter of his dyed her ponytail yellow, and one look was enough to tell she was a very rebellious type.

Furthermore, back at the Sanatorium, that yellow-ponytail girl had been very unconvinced by him, and she was not very happy that Old Man Li had handed the boxing manual over to him.

Chen Mo worried that if there was no news about perfecting the boxing manual for too long, it would provoke the yellow-ponytail girl into finding an excuse to lash out. If the young girl just threw a temper tantrum on her own, it would not be a big deal, but if she used Old Man Li's influence to bring a whole team directly to his residence, that would be somewhat troublesome.

Chen Mo hated trouble the most, so he thought it was time to resolve this matter.

In fact, when he was free, he had read the electronic copy of "Li-style Tai Chi" word by word. Based on his current martial arts attainments, he could see the shortcomings in the boxing style, but wanting to go a step further and revise or perfect the boxing style was beyond his current capabilities.

Because perfecting martial arts was a matter that not only required a high martial arts Realm but also extremely broad and profound martial arts knowledge.

Although Chen Mo had relied on his Apprentice Main God authority to train his Basic Internal Energy to the Realm of Perfection, thereby generating Internal Energy and stepping into the Realm of Internal Strength experts that Old Man Li talked about, his martial arts knowledge was still quite shallow.

With his current level, if he wanted to perfect "Li-style Tai Chi", he had to spend main god points to derive it.

Fortunately, since he had the complete boxing manual, the main god points required for derivation were not too many.

After deriving and perfecting this "Li-style Tai Chi", the perfected boxing style appeared in Chen Mo's mind, and it felt as familiar as if he had practiced it for many years.

Chen Mo, to be absolutely sure, first practiced it once for Old Man Li.

Inside the room, after Chen Mo finished one round of Tai Chi, he could clearly feel that the Aura of this boxing style was vastly different from when Old Man Li had used it.

Old Man Li's punches back then had been filled with a sense of ferocity and killing intent, but after it was derived and perfected, it seemed soft and weak when used, yet it still had power when needed. Amidst the slow Moves, a solid strike with Internal Strength would suddenly appear from time to time, producing a sound that broke the air in the room.

Purely in terms of lethality, it was hard to say which of the two versions of the boxing style was superior; one could only say that they could exert different effects in different situations.

However... if both sides used these two boxing styles to fight each other, the latter should have the advantage.

Because the perfected Tai Chi possessed more of the legendary ingenuity of "deflecting a thousand pounds with four ounces," and also had the capital to become stronger when facing stronger opponents. When facing fierce Moves, it could often achieve the effect of waiting at ease and defeating great strength with small force.

Moreover, after Chen Mo finished one round of Tai Chi, he sensed an extra strand of Internal Energy in his body.

Because it was cultivated by practicing Tai Chi, Chen Mo temporarily called it "Tai Chi True Qi".

This name was clearly much higher class than "Basic Internal Energy".

Of course, in terms of the quality of the Internal Energy, this Tai Chi True Qi was still inferior to the Basic Internal Energy.

However, Chen Mo vaguely felt that the quality of this additional Internal Energy had far from reached its limit.

In other words, the Tai Chi True Qi still had a lot of room for improvement.

The reason it could not compare to the Basic Internal Energy right now was because his main god points were not abundant enough; he had only repaired and perfected the boxing manual, and had no more main god points to use for further derivation.

But once he had more main god points in the future, this "Li-style Tai Chi" should give him a surprise.

After Chen Mo finished with the boxing manual, while he had time, he prepared to also produce the Medicinal Pill he had promised Old Man Li.

This Medicinal Pill mainly needed to possess two functions: first, to remove the long-standing hidden injuries in Old Man Li's body; second, it needed to have high nutritional value—in medical terms, to nourish the blood and boost Qi. Only then could it complement the improved "Li-style Tai Chi" and allow Old Man Li's Foundation to be repaired.

Therefore, one could imagine the value of the medicinal materials required.

If it were based on Chen Mo's own financial conditions, let alone precious medicinal materials, even ordinary traditional Chinese medicine would be hard to assemble into a few doses. At most, he would go to the vegetable market to pick out a few radishes with good appearance, combine them with sweet potatoes and glehnia root—things that could all be bought at the vegetable market—and boil them in a pot; perhaps that might have half an effect.

However, Old Man Li had transferred one million in advance for medicine money, so Chen Mo did not stand on ceremony. He went to the pharmacy and made a massive purchase. As long as it was useful, he grabbed whatever was expensive, like ginseng and velvet antler, thoroughly satisfying his craving for shopping.

Moreover, Chen Mo possessed considerable medical knowledge, and his understanding of Chinese medicinal materials was no less than that of the boss selling the medicine, so he was not afraid of being scammed. Everything he bought was authentic, but even so, the pile of medicinal materials still cost several hundred thousand in Chinese currency...

Chen Mo could not bear to waste these precious Chinese medicinal materials, so he processed them in advance. For example, the velvet antler was paired with Chinese yam and soaked in high-proof white liquor for a day and a night, then dried and ground into powder. For example, the ginseng—seventy percent was ground into powder, and thirty percent was kept for decoction... and so on, it was too numerous to list.

Chen Mo took out these pre-prepared medicinal materials and prepared to start Alchemy.

Before this, he had already practiced with small portions of medicinal materials, so naturally, he did not need to worry about failure.

Moreover, this Alchemy was not what ordinary people imagined—finding a huge furnace, throwing all kinds of medicinal materials inside, the flames under the furnace burning bright red, and the alchemist holding a fan as tall as a person, fanning the fire with all their might... It was not to say that this method of Alchemy using fire did not exist, but usually, for ordinary Medicinal Pills, there was no need for fire-refining methods.

Generally, it was just very simple: kneading various medicinal powders together to form pills would suffice.

With this method of Alchemy, naturally, there was no talk of failure; it was just a fear that the ratio of the various medicinal ingredients would not be correct, resulting in pills with unsatisfactory efficacy, which would not just fail to heal or save people, but might even harm them instead.

However, Chen Mo's medical skills were all derived and perfected by consuming main god points, so even if there was a suspicion of not being brilliant enough, it was impossible for there to be any errors, so there was no need to worry about these things.

He chose the kitchen as the place for Alchemy. After wiping the stove with a dry towel, he placed the pre-prepared medicinal materials on the stove in an orderly fashion.

Various precious Chinese medicinal materials that had been processed emitted a unique fragrance. As Chen Mo smelled it, his appetite was whetted, and his stomach began to growl, which was when he remembered he had not eaten breakfast yet.

He was at an age where he was still growing, and coupled with the fact that he had practiced Internal Skill and his Internal Energy had reached Perfection, it would automatically circulate unconsciously, which in turn caused the Qi and blood in his body to circulate along with it, accelerating his metabolism, so naturally, he got hungry much faster.

And although he did not know if the medicinal materials in front of him tasted good, the velvet antler and ginseng were both highly nourishing substances full of Qi and blood. Coupled with the unique fragrance of the medicinal materials, Chen Mo wished he could just grab a handful and shove it into his mouth.
