Chapter 187: Possible Social Frameworks of Extraterrestrial Civilizations
Aliens living underground on planets is one of the answers Jiang Zhe had in his previous life to explain the fermi paradox.
As everyone knows, planets are mostly prone to encountering meteorites and attacks from outer space.
Besides the fact that Earth has numerous protective layers, especially things like Jupiter and its moons, which serve as buffer satellites and planets to protect Earth.
In other galaxies and on other planets, there aren't as many protective planets; the reason why Earth is said to be special is actually based on this.
In his previous life, there was another explanation: Earth is a civilization under the control of a higher civilization.
That is because of: the Kuiper Belt.
The Kuiper Belt is a giant ring formed by Pluto and nearby small celestial bodies, along with a massive asteroid belt, appearing like a giant ring of the Solar System.
The planets and meteorites within it are mostly composed of ice and rock, blocking almost 95% of comet and meteorite impacts within the Solar System.
Because of the Kuiper Belt, Earth within the Solar System was able to undergo long-term evolution, eventually helping the human civilization to be born.
If in the future, a human civilization with sufficiently developed technology intends to rush out of the Solar System and head to other galaxies.
Then it would first have to consider the long Kuiper Belt wall of fire with temperatures as high as four thousand degrees Celsius; that firewall alone would be enough to curb humans from leaving the Solar System.
Perhaps human spaceships wouldn't even be able to break through the Kuiper Belt before being burned into a pile of ash, along with the people inside, by the high temperatures.
Therefore, in the eyes of some astronomers from his previous life, perhaps humans will never be able to leave the Kuiper Belt and will forever remain prisoners of the Solar System; and the Kuiper Belt is an invisible cage.
Some say the Kuiper Belt is a protective device, while others say it is a containment device; opinions vary.
Jiang Zhe was silent for a moment, then shook his head and continued to explain:
"Let us officially return to the fermi paradox."
"Actually, everyone already knows that when an intelligent civilization gradually enters the machine age, it has reached approximately a Level 1 civilization."
"Both we humans and alien civilizations can reach immortality in a disguised form: mechanical ascension, Consciousness Immortality."
Facing the camera, Jiang Zhe's expression became serious:
"Therefore, regardless of whether there are surviving alien civilizations in the universe at this very moment, and regardless of how many years have passed for their civilizations, as long as their civilizations have reached Level 1 in advance, then they must be able to achieve Consciousness Immortality; this is beyond doubt."
"Naturally, as long as a civilization can reach Level 1, they can achieve Consciousness Immortality; since they are immortal, theoretically, after receiving a signal, they would definitely reply to us, right?"
The audience and experts nodded one after another; theoretically, this is indeed the case.
When an alien civilization discovers the signal of another civilization, it will definitely contact the other party because it knows that its own civilization is not alone in the universe.
If the distance is close, they might even send messages to each other to discuss technological challenges, thereby achieving mutual assistance.
This also conforms to the social attributes of intelligent beings.
But in reality, the facts are not what one wishes.
Soon, a bullet comment appeared in the live stream, reminding Jiang Zhe.
"Teacher Jiang, I have a question. Is there a possibility that their social structure is not quite the same as our Earth's?"
"That's right. If a signal is sent, their alien civilization might be completely different from our Earth; on our Earth, we have communism and republicanism, and even imperial systems and capitalism!"
"Damn, this way, it seems to make sense; what if there are alien civilizations like ant colonies, where their worker ants only listen to the Queen's orders? That is, one person is responsible for one planet, and everything has to go through the Queen's hands!"
"..."
Jiang Zhe's remarks stirred up a massive number of people to discuss the social frameworks of alien civilizations.
Jiang Zhe, who was just about to continue, looked at his watch with an innocent face when he heard the bullet comment broadcast by the backstage director, and said helplessly: "You guys are doing this on purpose, right?"
"You know my live stream is about to end, yet you suddenly pop up with a bunch of questions."
Upon hearing this, the audience couldn't help but grin, all thinking to themselves.
You don't want to run overtime, so we will bring up many questions to make you run overtime.
With no other choice, Jiang Zhe sighed: "Alright, is it possible that the social framework of an alien civilization could cause them not to reply after receiving an electromagnetic signal?"
"Although the question is excellent and very meaningful for discussion, given such a large base number, they must surely have a civilization framework similar to ours, right?"
"But what about it? It's a great pity; I can say with certainty: even if there are civilizations similar to ours, they have not replied to us; and furthermore, as long as an alien civilization is capable of interstellar travel."
"That is enough to prove that the other party's home planet, and the countries on the home planet, have already reached a state similar to [communism]."
Communism?
Alien civilizations are also similar to the Xia Kingdom?
How is this possible?
For a moment, many viewers and experts shook their heads one after another, feeling incredulous.
Facing the camera, Jiang Zhe raised a finger, "Everyone, don't be in a rush to refute."
"Because as intelligent civilizations have developed to this day, our [communism] is only a transition for the current era."
"From the barbarian era to the tribal era, then to the feudal era, and now to the [communism] era."
"Without considering the future, do you really think our current system is the best?"
"Can you really say with certainty: is our current system the final system of human civilization?"
Once these words were spoken, they immediately caused the audience to ponder.
Intuition told them: absolutely not!
But if not, where?
For a moment, the bullet comments in the live stream were filled with varying opinions.
...
Inside the lecture hall.
Professor Hua Yunfeng and Old Feng looked silently at the sociologists below the stage.
Professor Hua Yunfeng asked: "What do you experts think? Is there anything more suitable than our modern system? Is what Jiang Zhe said correct?"
Below the podium, those sociologists nodded one after another.
"What he said is correct; it is not the most suitable for the future, but it is relatively suitable for the current era!"
"The current system is applicable to our civilization's contemporary era; no one can guarantee that this system will still survive in future society."
"Professor Hua, if the Great Ming Dynasty had not perished, and had continued from the Chongzhen Emperor to the present day, without the Qing Dynasty and without the history of modern humiliation, then we would currently be called the [Great Ming Empire], and it would still be an imperial system; our technology... hmm, a group of experts and I once discussed this: if the Great Ming had luckily survived until today, not considering things like corruption, bribery, or the hegemony of civil officials; then theoretically, our technology would reach the progress of the year 2100 by the year 2024; which means for the whole world, we would currently be in a future society; and this is just technology under ideal conditions; but if we consider a series of factors, then the Great Ming Empire would absolutely not be more advanced than our modern day."
"That's right, we currently have a form of ultra-idealism in the scientific community: allocate all of the Xia Kingdom's resources to artificial intelligence, and this artificial intelligence must have advanced intelligence and be able to coexist with human emotions—local governments must write reports using resources, and then be checked by the artificial intelligence; if there is corruption, it will be detected at the first opportunity; in short, this is a form of ultra-idealistic social framework; it would significantly improve social humanities, technology, and systems; ordinary people would no longer commit a series of bad deeds due to unfair social treatment; all walks of life would also become more efficient under artificial sorting, and our civilization would develop at super speed in a short time; but this is just discussed on paper; if brought into reality, it would be sabotaged and exploited by people with ulterior motives; so it does not fit the modern era!"
"Besides this, there are other future social frameworks, all very exciting; let's see which one Jiang Zhe will mention."
"..."
The experts below the podium had differing opinions.
But they all had one common answer: communism is not the final form!
After hearing this, Professor Hua Yunfeng agreed that there are indeed more suitable systems, but promoting them on a large scale is too difficult!
Then he looked at the big screen again; he wanted to see what Jiang Zhe's answer would be.
At this moment, Jiang Zhe's words came from the big screen.
"I'm afraid everyone has already gotten the answer."
"Every era, with technology, resources, and the current development of society, will derive a system more suitable for that era."
"As far as I know, currently in science and even among science fiction writers, a series of answers have already been given."
"The future systems and possible social frameworks of alien civilizations are as follows."
"1: Virtualism."
"Aliens have invented machines similar to computers, and can upload their consciousness."
"In the alien world, only some super-strong artificial intelligences and the elderly live in the real world, maintaining the massive computer systems."
"The rest of the people are existences living in this virtual machine; they will not waste planetary resources, and all scientific and technological tasks are left to artificial intelligence to complete, including collection tasks."
"That is: Lay-flatism."
"We enjoy, and robots do the work for us."
