129: Descending upon Lingxuan, the battlefield of demonic cultivation.

Passing through the bizarre spatial tunnel, Chu He felt his vision brighten as a wave of pure Spiritual Qi, so dense it made every pore in his body relax, rushed toward him.

"Such dense Spiritual Qi!"

Chu He couldn't help but take a deep breath, feeling refreshed. The concentration of Spiritual Qi in this Lingxuan Realm was at least ten times that of the Xuanhuang Realm! It truly lived up to being a Medium Cultivation World.

However, flowing into his nostrils along with this pure Spiritual Qi was a thick, nauseating smell of blood, as well as lingering resentment and Evil Qi.

He opened his eyes and surveyed his surroundings.

He was currently in the middle of a vast, boundless black plain.

The sky was an eerie dark red, as if it had been soaked in blood. On the earth, ravines crisscrossed the landscape, and everywhere lay broken fragments of Magic Treasures and the remains of Cultivators. Severed limbs were scattered about, and blood flowed like rivers, gathering into small pools.

Countless crows and carrion-eating Yao Beasts were greedily pecking at the corpses, making bursts of unpleasant noise.

Clearly, an incredibly tragic battle had just taken place here.

"It seems the System's information was correct; the war between the righteous and Demonic Paths here is indeed intense."

Chu He thought to himself, while simultaneously spreading out his Great Perfection of Soul Transformation Stage Divine Sense like a rising tide.

Instantly, the scenery for tens of thousands of miles around was clearly presented in his mind.

He "saw" that at both ends of this massive battlefield, hundreds of miles away, two massive armies of Cultivators were facing off from a distance.

In the eastern army, the Cultivators mostly wore various colored Daoist robes, and their military discipline was strict. Flags with names like "Taixu," "Shenxiao," and "Qingyun" fluttered above the camp. Streaks of noble righteous Qi soared into the sky; this was clearly the Righteous Path Alliance.

The army to the west was a completely different sight. Devilish Qi billowed, ghosts wailed and wolves howled, and the Cultivators all had hideous faces and evil auras. Various demonic banners refined from white bones and resentful souls fluttered in the wind; this was the Demonic Path side.

In the camps of both sides, there were several extremely powerful auras that far exceeded the Demon General Baal whom he had slain.

"Void Refining Realm..."

Chu He felt those few auras that even gave him a hint of pressure, and his gaze became solemn.

He knew that although he was at the Great Perfection of Soul Transformation Stage, there was likely still a significant gap between him and a true Void Refining Stage powerhouse.

'It seems I should act low-key and get a clear handle on the situation first.'

Chu He made up his mind and restrained his aura to the extreme, looking like an unremarkable little Foundation Establishment Stage Cultivator, blending into the battlefield to scavenge for leftovers.

His current position happened to be in the middle zone between the two armies, the so-called "no man's land."

On the battlefield, besides him, there were many other Loose Cultivators with the same mindset, rummaging through the piles of corpses like vultures, hoping to find some valuable Storage Pouches or Magic Treasures.

The Righteous Path and Demonic Path sides seemed to turn a blind eye to this; as long as they didn't cause too much of a commotion, they didn't bother with these battlefield hyenas.

Chu He walked through the mountains of corpses and seas of blood, not even bothering to spare a glance at the Magic Treasure fragments and Storage Pouches that the Loose Cultivators were fighting over tooth and nail.

His goal wasn't this trash.

What he wanted to find were the commanders of this war, or the locations of the most important strategic resources of both sides.

Just as he was wandering aimlessly, a small squad of Cultivators wearing blood-colored robes and emitting a dense scent of blood noticed him.

This squad had about seven or eight people, led by a burly, bald man with a face full of scars.

This bald man actually had a cultivation at the Late Nascent Soul Stage!

The subordinates following behind him were also Golden Core Stage experts.

They were an enforcement team belonging to the Blood Fiend Sect, one of the Six Demonic Sects, responsible for clearing the battlefield and... "dealing" with those blind Loose Cultivators.

"Stop!"

The bald man led his subordinates to block Chu He's path, his bell-like eyes filled with ill intent as he sized Chu He up.

When he sensed the "weak" Foundation Establishment Stage aura on Chu He, his eyes were instantly filled with contempt and greed.

"Kid, you've got some nerve coming to the Blood Slaughter Plain alone to scavenge," the bald man said with a sinister laugh. "Seeing your fair skin and tender flesh, you don't look like a Loose Cultivator. You're probably some young master from a small Family out for experience, right?"

Chu He stopped and looked at him expressionlessly, without saying a word.

"Are you mute?" Seeing him not answer, the bald man grew impatient. "Forget it, I don't have time to waste on you. Hand over everything valuable—Storage Pouches, Magic Treasures—everything! Then get lost. I'm in a good mood today, so I can spare your dog life!"

The Blood Fiend Sect Disciples behind him also revealed cruel smiles, cracking their knuckles as if they could already see this ignorant kid kneeling and begging for mercy.

Some nearby Loose Cultivators who were scavenging saw this scene and were so scared they hid far away, while casting sympathetic looks at Chu He.

Of all the people to provoke, he had to provoke the mad dogs of the Blood Fiend Sect.

This kid would likely have a layer of skin peeled off today.

However, facing this blatant threat and extortion, Chu He's face still bore no expression.

He just felt... a bit annoyed.

He came here to do great things, to plunder a world. Why were there always these blind flies that insisted on coming forward to seek death?

He didn't even bother to speak.

He simply... lifted his eyelids and gave the Late Nascent Soul Stage bald man a faint glance.

Just that one glance!

An indescribable, terrifying storm condensed purely from Divine Soul power instantly crossed the spatial distance and slammed violently into the bald man's Sea of Consciousness!

This Divine Soul power, tempered by the Great Perfection of Soul Transformation Stage and fused with the will of the Ancient Dragon God—how terrifying was its might!

The sinister laugh on the bald man's face instantly froze.

His bell-like eyes widened abruptly, and his eyeballs were instantly bloodshot, as if they were about to burst out of their sockets!

In his Sea of Consciousness, it was as if a sun had exploded!

His proud Nascent Soul couldn't even put up a hint of resistance before that Divine Soul storm; it was like fragile glass, crushed into powder in an instant!

"Ugh..."

An unintelligible rasping sound came from the bald man's throat, and the expression on his face was forever frozen in that moment of extreme terror and bewilderment.

The next moment.

Bang!

His head, like a watermelon struck by a high-pressure air gun, exploded without warning!

Red and white matter splashed all over the subordinates standing beside him.

Those Blood Fiend Sect Disciples, who had been so arrogant just a moment ago, were completely stunned.

They stared blankly at their leader's headless corpse, then at the puddle of steaming brains on the ground, their minds going blank.

What happened?

How did the boss... just... die?

The surrounding Loose Cultivators were also so shocked their jaws dropped, rubbing their eyes one by one, unable to believe the scene they had witnessed.

That Foundation Establishment Stage kid didn't do anything!

He just... looked at that Late Nascent Soul Stage Blood Fiend Sect leader?

And then, that Late Nascent Soul Stage expert's head exploded?

This... what kind of sorcery is this?!

Under everyone's terrified gazes, Chu He slowly withdrew his gaze, as if he had only crushed an insignificant ant.

He turned his head to look at the few Blood Fiend Sect Disciples who were already scared out of their wits, shaking like sieves.

He finally spoke, his voice calm and indifferent.

"Now, can we speak properly?"

"Tell me everything about this war. Who is fighting whom, how far has it progressed, and where are your most important strongholds, or rather, your treasure vaults?"
