5: A prodigy is born, the pride of the Chu family.

The delivery room was filled with a thick smell of blood and amniotic fluid.

A Midwife in her fifties was carrying a basin of bloody water. When she saw Chu He suddenly burst in, she let out a startled scream. Her hands shook, and the copper basin fell directly to the floor with a loud clang.

Bloody water splashed everywhere.

The Midwife fell to her knees with a thud, her whole body shaking like a sieve. She couldn't even speak clearly: "Master... Master Chu, spare me! It has nothing to do with me! Just now there was fighting outside... I..."

She had heard everything clearly inside the room, especially the sound of that Qi Gathering Realm expert being crushed to death; it was nothing short of a nightmare for her.

Seeing Chu He enter now, she thought he had come to silence the witnesses.

Chu He ignored her completely, his gaze immediately turning toward the bed.

On the bed, Qing'er's face was as pale as a sheet of paper. Her hair was soaked with sweat and stuck messily to her forehead. She was extremely weak, but her eyes were bright and filled with joy.

Lying beside her was a tiny infant wrapped in clean cloth.

"Young... Young Master..."

Seeing Chu He, Qing'er's eyes instantly turned red, and she spoke with a raspy voice.

Chu He rushed to the bedside in a single stride, grabbed her cold hand, and sent a stream of gentle spiritual energy through his palm.

He was now at the Foundation Establishment Stage and could release his spiritual energy. Although he didn't know any healing Spells, he could still manage to nourish and soothe Qing'er's body.

"Don't talk, just rest well," Chu He's voice was gentler than it had ever been. "I'm here, everything is fine now."

Qing'er felt a warm current spread through her body, and her exhausted frame felt much more comfortable. She nodded in relief, a tear sliding down the corner of her eye, though her lips held a satisfied smile.

Chu He's gaze finally fell upon the tiny infant.

This is my son... my biological son!

In his previous life, he had been all alone, barely even holding a girl's hand. In this life, he had skipped straight to the finish line and become a father.

This feeling... it was fucking amazing.

The little guy was still sleeping. His face was wrinkled like a little old man's, but his skin was clean and fair, showing a healthy flush.

He slept peacefully, his little mouth smacking occasionally as if he were having a beautiful dream.

He hadn't been disturbed by the commotion outside at all.

Chu He reached out his hand, wanting to touch him, yet fearing his hand would be too heavy and hurt him.

It was a complex mood, full of caution and overflowing with joy.

"Young Master, look, see how strong the Little Young Master is," Qing'er said with a weak smile. "His cry was so loud. Just now... just as he cried, you..."

Qing'er didn't know exactly what had happened. She only knew that in her moment of deepest despair, the child cried, and then her beloved Young Master became incredibly powerful and resolved the entire crisis.

In her heart, she believed that she and her son had brought good Luck to the Young Master.

Chu He's heart stirred; he knew Qing'er was right.

It was precisely this little fellow's cry that had activated the System's rewards.

He was his lucky star, the Qilin Child of the entire Chu Family!

"What is his name?" Qing'er asked softly.

Chu He pondered for a moment. Looking at his son's sleeping face, the phenomenon of the "purple qi coming thirty thousand miles from the east" and that faint dragon's roar flashed through his mind.

"He shall be called... Chu Tian."

"The Sky of the Chu Family."

"My, Chu He's, Sky."

He spoke each word with deliberate weight.

"Chu Tian..." Qing'er murmured the name, her eyes growing brighter. "A wonderful name! Our son will surely be like the sky in the future, standing high above and never bullied by anyone!"

Chu He smiled and reached out to gently pick up his son.

The little guy was very light, a soft little bundle. Holding him in his arms, a sense of blood connection spontaneously arose.

At this moment, he truly felt that he belonged to this world.

He was no longer that lonely transmigrator. He had a Family, he had ties, and he had people he would protect with his life.

"System."

He called out silently in his heart.

A blue panel that only he could see unfolded before his eyes.

[Host: Chu He]

[Cultivation: Early Stage Foundation Establishment]

[Cultivation Technique: Nine Revolutions Tyrant Dragon Art (Earth Rank Peak Grade)]

[Magic Treasure: Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger (supreme emperor weapon Fragment, One-time Use)]

[Family Members: 2 (1 Wife, 1 Son)]

[Family Luck: 100 points (Destiny Golden Dragon activated)]

[Offspring List:]

[Eldest Son: Chu Tian (S-Rank Innate Spirit Body, Innate Talent: Dragon Roar Body)]

Chu He's gaze fell upon the new lines of information.

Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger!

A fragment of a supreme emperor weapon? Holy shit, that name sounds incredibly badass! Even if it's a one-time use, it seems like a trump card for saving my life and turning the tables at a critical moment.

Family Destiny Golden Dragon?

With a thought, it was as if he had opened a special perspective.

He "saw" an illusory, pale golden dragon shadow coiled in the sky above the Chu Family estate.

Its eyes were closed as if it were sleeping, but an invisible majesty shrouded the entire residence, isolating all external malice and prying eyes.

[Family Destiny Golden Dragon: Can protect the Family, ward off all evils, and increase the cultivation speed and Luck of Family members. The more Family members and the stronger the offspring's Bloodline, the stronger the Destiny Golden Dragon becomes.]

So that's how it is!

This is basically putting a super BUFF on the entire Family!

Chu He was overjoyed.

He looked at the son in his arms, liking him more and more the more he looked.

"Good son, you really are Daddy's precious little treasure!"

He couldn't help but give Chu Tian's little face a kiss.

As if sensing his father's closeness, Chu Tian's little hand moved, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly as if he were smiling.

Chu He's heart practically melted.

He carefully placed Chu Tian back beside Qing'er and then turned to look at the Midwife who was still kneeling on the floor.

When the Midwife saw him looking, she shuddered again in fear.

"Master... Master Chu..."

"What is your name?" Chu He's tone was much calmer.

"In... in reply to Master Chu, my surname is Wang. Everyone calls me Granny Wang."

"You worked hard today," Chu He said as he pulled out a hundred-tael silver note from his robe. This was part of the Chu Family's limited liquid funds.

With a flick of his finger, the silver note drifted down in front of Granny Wang.

"This is a hundred taels as payment for your hard work. Furthermore, everything you saw and heard in my Chu Family today—I hope that once you walk out that door, you will forget it all. Can you do that?"

Granny Wang's eyes went wide as she stared at the silver note.

A hundred taels!

She wouldn't earn this much money in a lifetime of delivering babies!

She hurriedly picked up the silver note and kowtowed repeatedly in excitement: "I can! I can do it! I saw nothing today, and I heard nothing! I was just here to deliver Madam Chu's baby. Mother and son are safe; it's a great blessing!"

This Granny Wang was also a clever person; she knew what should be said and what shouldn't.

Chu He's power had already exceeded her understanding. She only knew that when it came to such matters between immortals, a Mortal like her was best off playing deaf and dumb, otherwise she wouldn't even know how she died.

"Very good," Chu He nodded. "You may leave."

"Yes, yes! This old woman will take her leave! Congratulations, Master Chu! Congratulations on the birth of your Qilin son!"

Granny Wang tucked the silver note away and retreated with a thousand thanks. When she reached the courtyard and saw the blood and mess everywhere, her legs went weak, and she ran away, practically crawling.

Inside the room, only Chu He's Family of three remained.

Chu He sat by the bed, looking at the two most important people in his life, his heart filled with an unprecedented peace and satisfaction.

"Qing'er."

"Yes?"

"From now on, you are the Mistress of the Chu Family, the wife I, Chu He, have officially wed," Chu He said with absolute seriousness, holding her hand. "Once your body is a bit better in a few days, we will hold the ceremony. I want everyone in Qingyang City to know."

Qing'er's eyes instantly welled up with tears.

Mistress... wife... she hadn't even dared to dream of such things before.

She was just a maidservant. To be taken in by the Young Master was already the greatest blessing she could imagine.

Now, the Young Master actually wanted to marry her officially and announce it to the whole city.

"Young Master... I... I'm just a maidservant of low status. I... I'll bring shame to you..." Qing'er bit her lip, feeling both joy and self-deprecation.

"Nonsense!" Chu He's face turned stern. "You have given birth to the heir of the Chu Family; you are the Chu Family's greatest contributor! Who would dare say a single word against you? I'll see to it that they don't want to live anymore!"

"From today on, in the Chu Family, I have the final say. If I say you are the Mistress, then you are the Mistress!"

Chu He's words were domineering, yet filled with a power that made one feel at ease.

Qing'er could no longer hold it back, and her tears fell like broken strings of pearls, yet her face was radiant with a happy smile.

"Mhm! Qing'er will listen to the Young Master!"

...Meanwhile.

The Li Family servants, carrying the half-dead Li Wei and several corpses, finally scrambled back to the Li Estate.

When the Li Family gates opened again and the guards saw their miserable state, they were all stunned.

"Quick! Go report to the Family Head! Something... something happened to the Young Master!"

A panicked scream pierced the tranquility of the Li Estate.

Because of what had happened at the Chu Family, the entire Qingyang City was about to be swept by an unprecedented, monstrous wave.

And the instigator of it all, Chu He, was currently looking tenderly at his wife and son, enjoying this brief moment of warmth before the storm.
