213: Corpses Burst Out of the Ground

"Ma, Master?"

The butler was equally dumbfounded, his mind reeling.

He didn't understand what was happening.

Where did that door come from?

Why did it suddenly suck Van Dyke in?

Looking again at his own people who were in a standoff with the official investigators, he didn't know how to handle the situation for a moment.

He was worried that if he didn't handle it well, he would offend both sides.

His mind raced, thinking of a solution...

Meanwhile, on the other side, everyone, including Van Dyke, was forcibly teleported to the Huangquan Ghost Realm.

"Damn it! What the hell is going on?" Van Dyke climbed up from the ground, holding his forehead, shaking his head, trying to regain consciousness.

After his vision focused, he looked at the surroundings and found it was a mass grave, with large and small burial mounds standing haphazardly.

The wooden markers stuck in the soil only had faint traces of ink left; having endured countless years of wind and rain, it was impossible to discern the names of the people buried in the graves.

"What is this place? How did I end up here?" Van Dyke wondered.

He suspected he was dreaming, affected by the skills of those investigators just now.

He extended his ten fingers individually, the tips as black as ink lengthening like sharp knives.

Van Dyke hardened his heart and plunged his nails into his shoulder with a squelch, piercing through.

After piercing his shoulder, blood flowed down the tips of his nails.

He tried to use this self-harming method to regain consciousness and forcibly break free from the illusion.

However, things did not develop as he had expected; the scene before him remained unchanged.

The pain in his shoulder, however, became clearer, a searing agony.

Fortunately, after Van Dyke pulled his nails out, his flesh healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Not even a scar was left.

As the progenitor with thousands of Vampire followers, his current healing ability was no longer comparable to when he first fished out the [Vampire] skill.

Let alone his nails poking a blood hole, even if he were riddled with bullets from a machine gun, he could expel all the bullets immediately and recover as before.

This was the source of Van Dyke's arrogance!

While he was still trying to distinguish whether the strange environment he arrived in was reality or an illusion.

A system panel suddenly popped up before him;

[Due to your excessively high villain value, you have been selected to participate in the "Huangquan Ghost Realm" instance!]

[In the Huangquan Ghost Realm, you will not be subject to any restrictions. The only thing you need to consider is how to survive!]

[In various scenarios, there are opportunities to obtain items. Participate in random tasks to gain rewards and help you survive better!]

...

"Huangquan Ghost Realm?"

"And what is this villain value thing?"

Van Dyke yelled and screamed, flying into a rage, venting his dissatisfaction.

The system ignored him; after briefly explaining the situation, the window disappeared.

Only some faint noise was left, and the breeze blowing past his ears.

Just as Van Dyke wanted to continue cursing the system, the sound of a wooden marker falling and hitting a stone suddenly came from behind him.

In this environment, it was hard not to arouse Van Dyke's vigilance.

He quickly turned around to look and then saw a scene that made his hair stand on end.

An arm broke through the soil, raised high and very straight.

Soon, another arm also drilled out.

Its movements were completely stiff, unable to bend freely, its elbows always tense.

Its hands clawed the ground, and with a sudden burst of force, there was a boom, kicking up a large amount of dust, and its entire body leaped out from underground.

"Cough, cough, cough!" Van Dyke accidentally inhaled the dust drifting towards him, clutched his throat, and coughed twice.

After recovering slightly, he raised his hand and waved it in front of him.

The expression on his face was wary, yet also held a hint of curiosity.

Before the smoke and dust dispersed, and he could see the scene within, he saw the outline of a tall figure quickly becoming clear.

The next second, a person leaped out from it with large strides, holding their arms straight out.

It wore clothes Van Dyke had never seen, unlike modern attire, its face was dry, gaunt, and ashen.

Its eyes even emitted green light!

Like him, it had sharp fangs.

"A Vampire?" Van Dyke wasn't sure.

But one thing he was sure of was that this guy was definitely not benevolent and should not be underestimated!

Seeing the other party continue to bound towards him, covering three to four meters with each step.

Van Dyke turned into a cloud of blood mist, avoiding the attack while circling behind it.

He also thrust his hands straight forward, all ten finger-claws extended, aiming for its heart.

He originally thought this move could easily pierce the opponent, leaving ten penetrating blood holes in its heart.

The moment his nails touched its back, they quickly bent, without any of the feedback expected when hitting flesh.

It felt like colliding with iron, no, it should be said synthetic metal, with off-the-charts hardness!

"This?!"

Although Van Dyke didn't feel much pain from this, his heart was greatly shaken.

Immediately, the monster that crawled out of the grave suddenly turned around and heavily swung its arms, striking Van Dyke's shoulder.

Van Dyke showed a grimacing expression, his feet lifted off the ground, and he flew out.

The pain of his bones shattering in his shoulder was all too obvious.

His entire body was sent flying over ten meters away by the monster's blow.

Fortunately, thanks to his powerful self-healing ability, by the time he got up, the spiderweb-like cracks on his bones quickly fused and were erased in the blink of an eye.

"This guy not only has skin and bones like copper and iron, but also astonishing strength." Van Dyke gave up on a head-on confrontation; of the Thirty-Six Stratagems, retreat was the best.

As he turned around, he saw countless hands reaching out from underground, one after another.

The exact same scene and setting unfolded before his eyes.

Monsters successively emerged from underground, their numbers exceeding ten, exceeding twenty, exceeding thirty... and still increasing!

If Van Dyke had taken the time to learn more about Great Xia's films and TV shows, or various books, he would know that the so-called monsters he spoke of actually had a name: zombie!

He was in a stalemate.

In contrast, Chen Ming was currently in a quiet, deep street.

The buildings were all in an ancient style, with black tiles and red walls, not the skyscrapers of a modern city.

Looking up at the sky, dark clouds pressed down, and a massive blood moon hung high above the firmament.

It also felt close enough to touch, giving a sense that it could fall at any moment.

Looking left and right, he couldn't see a single sound or figure; it was eerily quiet, yet brightly lit.

Red lanterns hung high, candlelight shone through the red paper, casting reflections on the street, which not only failed to reassure people but instead intensified the eerie atmosphere.

Chen Ming turned back to face the two-story building before him, which was slightly more luxurious compared to the surrounding structures.

He looked up at the sign, which read "Shuiyue Inn".

Chen Ming walked up the steps, raised his hand, and was about to push open the tightly closed shop door to investigate.

A creak!

The two doors slowly opened.
