229: A wealthy family, a groom

"That is Black Wind Mountain!" the Red-Clothed Woman said, raising her finger.

"Red Moon." Chen Ming glanced at Qin Hongyue.

Qin Hongyue understood perfectly and took a few steps forward.

With a wave of her large hand, she sucked all the thick black fog that filled this part of the world into her palm, controlling it.

Then, with a clench of her five fingers, it completely dissipated.

The scene before their eyes, which had been shrouded in fog and impossible to see clearly, was instantly cleared.

The entire Black Wind Mountain was completely exposed within their line of sight.

Aside from the trees being dry as iron, devoid of leaves, lifeless, and the bare mountain peaks, the most eye-catching sight was the mansion located on the open ground at the mountaintop.

Bang! Boom!

The giant dragon landed, lowering its head as a step to make it convenient for Chen Ming and the others to descend.

Chen Ming and Ye Qingcheng were already used to this scene.

But for the Red-Clothed Woman, her mood, which she had just managed to calm, became turbulent again.

She originally thought that Chen Ming being able to tame a dragon was already a very remarkable feat, worthy of being recorded in history.

After all, his identity was human. Before this, he could only be treated as food by ghosts and monsters, belonging to the lowest level of the food chain.

Now, not only did he tame a dragon to serve as a mount, but it was also willing to lower its head and allow itself to be trampled upon.

This was a completely different style from the proud dragon race in the Red-Clothed Woman's impression.

If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, and someone else had mentioned this to her, the Red-Clothed Woman absolutely would not have believed it.

Even she, a demon, couldn't help but find it too surreal.

"Li Mansion, was his surname Li when he was alive? Looking at the scale of this mansion, it seems like a wealthy family." Chen Ming had the Calamity Dragon guard outside.

Its body was too large. Not to mention entering the mansion, a slight carelessness would flatten a large area of buildings.

"Let's go in and take a look."

As soon as Chen Ming finished speaking, a gust of eerie wind blew, bone-chillingly cold.

The two large red lanterns hanging on the door, adorned with the character " 囍" (double happiness), lit up with fiery red light. It wasn't strong, and one couldn't feel even a hint of festivity.

This scene was very suitable for filming a horror movie. No setup was needed; filming could start directly, with the atmosphere fully charged.

Chen Ming walked up the steps, raised his hand, and was about to push open the courtyard gate.

However, his hand had not yet touched the vermilion gate.

With a creak, the two doors automatically opened outwards.

What came into view was a scene that Chen Ming was not surprised to see.

Red silk was hung everywhere, and hydrangeas made of fabric were abundant.

It was unclear what was used as dye for those red cloths. They were indeed red, but they gave one a disturbing feeling upon seeing them.

Red lanterns were hung in a circle around the eaves on all four sides, covering the entire visible area with a layer of enchanting red light.

It should have been a very lively scene, but it was exceptionally quiet at this moment. There were many seats, but not a single guest was seen.

The tables were filled with various delicacies, but not a hint of food aroma could be smelled.

Silent, tasteless.

Everything was so lifeless.

"You're finally here! You've made this husband wait so long..." A slightly hoarse human voice came from ahead.

The three of them looked almost simultaneously and were very certain that this person was not originally in front of the main house door.

He appeared at some unknown time, wearing a wedding robe embroidered with dragons and auspicious clouds. The colors were vibrant, using all sorts of hues, but the main color of this groom's attire was still red. He wore a melon-rind cap and had a long braid down his back.

It was completely different from the current wedding style on Blue Star, appearing quite ancient.

The Man's face was also painted deathly pale, lacking the two patches of red cheeks that could be considered the finishing touch.

"Auspicious time has arrived, welcome the bride!" At this moment, someone shouted in a hoarse voice.

Chen Ming was certain that the person who spoke was not the Man.

In just the blink of an eye, the surroundings suddenly became noisy.

Glancing left and right, the seats that were originally empty were now filled with "people."

They were whispering among themselves, discussing something unknown, with stiff smiles on their faces, like people who clearly didn't want to smile but had their lips forcibly pulled up by hand.

Highlighting awkwardness and reluctance.

Pairs of eyes that hadn't blinked even once in over a minute were even more bone-chilling.

Without exception, they were all vividly reminding Chen Ming that they were not human.

"To be able to marry into the Li family, this person is truly fortunate!"

"Who says otherwise? Marrying the Li family's young master means the rest of her life is destined to be worry-free regarding food and clothing."

"I wonder what kind of face is under that red veil, and if she can be worthy of the Li family's young master."

...

The noisy voices of the crowd poured into their ears, and the words gradually became clearer.

One sentence after another, they kept chattering.

This perfectly matched Chen Ming's impression of a wedding banquet.

"Come, my wife, what are you waiting for? Don't miss the auspicious time and date, let's quickly enter the house and perform the wedding ceremony." The groom raised his arm, making an inviting gesture.

"Li San Gui, stop dreaming! I will not marry you!" The Red-Clothed Woman stated her stance firmly.

As soon as these words were spoken, the courtyard, which had been noisy just a second ago, instantly fell silent.

"..."

Not a single sound could be heard; it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Everyone, like marionettes controlled by a pair of large hands hidden in the dark, suddenly turned their heads, collectively fixing their extremely wide, bulging eyes on the Red-Clothed Woman alone.

It was as if they were silently questioning why the Red-Clothed Woman would say such words.

The atmosphere was extremely oppressive!

"My wife, what is the meaning of this? This husband is so heartbroken." Li San Gui asked with a calm expression.

He put down his hand, which had bluish skin and black fingernails.

"If you hadn't threatened to destroy Shuiyue Inn, I would never have agreed to marry you. Heartbroken? This is your own doing!" the Red-Clothed Woman retorted forcefully.

"Then aren't you afraid now that I'll destroy Shuiyue Inn?" Li San Gui remained expressionless, his words also devoid of any emotion.

"Why should I be afraid?" Chen Ming stepped forward, facing Li San Gui alone.

"You are not on my Li family's invitation list. If you know what's good for you, leave quickly!" Li San Gui's voice was weak.

Coupled with his sunken, skin-and-bone-like cheeks, his voice was even weaker.

As a result, when his threatening words reached their ears, they felt no sense of danger at all.

Chen Ming chuckled.

"What are you laughing at!" Chen Ming's dismissive behavior angered Li San Gui, and his expression changed slightly.

"You manage the heavens and the earth, and you want to manage my laughter too?" Chen Ming retorted.

Li San Gui's expression turned cold, "Are you truly going to ruin my good deed today?"

Chen Ming remained silent, his attitude clear.

"You're courting death!"

Bang! Bang! Bang...

The sound of tables being slapped and people standing up was perfectly synchronized. The guests who came to attend the wedding banquet all left their seats and stiffly gathered towards Chen Ming.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to describe them as walking corpses.

"Master, do you need me to act and break these illusions before us?" Qin Hongyue walked to Chen Ming's side and asked in a voice only the two of them could hear.

'Illusions?'

Although Chen Ming had doubts in his heart, he didn't ask further. He nodded in agreement, "I'll leave it to you."
