48: Chapter 48 Heading to the Kunpeng Nest, Shi Hao and I Embark on a Feast for the Senses

The North Sea was vast, magnificent, and boundless.

Upon the surface of the sea, a massive storied ship crafted from ten-thousand-year-old agarwood was cutting through the waves.

However, the atmosphere on this warship, which should have been filled with a murderous aura as it headed toward the Kunpeng Nest to contend for fortune, seemed completely out of place.

"Sizzle, sizzle—"

A rich, thick aroma of barbecue, mixed with the numbing spice of premium Sichuan peppercorns, drifted dozens of miles away on the sea breeze.

On the deck, a large black pot with a diameter of fully ten zhang was set over a blazing divine fire.

In the pot, a milky white thick soup was churning; it was a broth base brewed from the bone marrow of several pure-blooded creatures.

Beside the pot, several massive barbecue grills were lined up, skewered with various types of enormous seafood.

"Dinner is served!!"

Shi Hao, wearing an apron covered in grease, brandished a spatula ground from the leg bone of some ferocious beast and shouted excitedly:

"Steamed Silver-Armored Crab Claws! Charcoal-grilled Deep Sea Demon Octopus tentacles! And this dish—braised Venerable-level Lobster Balls!!"

Following his shout, several plates of hearty dishes that made one drool just by looking at them were served onto the luxurious dining table covered in beast skin at the bow of the ship.

Wang Teng was currently leaning comfortably on a lounge chair, his left arm wrapped around Princess Huo Linger.

His right hand was being fed a peeled grape (actually a type of sacred fruit of the sea race) by Yun Xi, and upon hearing the names of the dishes, his eyes lit up slightly.

"Mm, this lobster is good; the meat is firm, and it's cooked to perfection."

Wang Teng picked up a braised lobster ball the size of a washbasin, took a bite, and juices overflowed, his face full of enjoyment.

Throughout this journey, the so-called "perilous North Sea."

In the eyes of their "foodie squad," it was practically a conveyor belt sushi restaurant paved with ingredients.

At first, there were indeed many blind Venerables of the sea race who tried to stop them.

Whether it was the Silver Shark Venerable who ruled a region of the sea, or the Electric Eel Ancestor who possessed primordial bloodlines.

They all rushed out of the sea aggressively, shouting, "This mountain is opened by me, this tree is planted by me."

And the result?

Often, before they could even finish speaking, they were fished directly out of the sea by Wang Teng's elusive Nine-Nether Ao tail.

"Too skinny, make soup."

"This one has too many bones, make fish balls."

"Yo, this shelled one is not bad, Shi Hao, take it and steam it!"

In just half a day, the area around this ship had become a forbidden zone for the sea race.

Because all the monsters that attempted to approach eventually ended up as a dish on the deck.

Just as everyone was eating happily.

"Rumble!!!"

The sea in front suddenly exploded, and ten-thousand-foot waves parted to the sides.

A gold-adorned, shockingly grand procession slowly rose from the bottom of the sea.

It was a golden war chariot pulled by hundreds of silver sharks, surrounded by countless shrimp soldiers and crab generals.

Sitting atop the chariot was a handsome youth holding a golden trident, his entire body wreathed in blue divine light.

The moment he appeared, the surrounding hundred-mile sea area was boiling, and countless sea beasts prostrated themselves in worship.

The Son of the Sea God—Mo Shang!

This peerless genius, who was renowned in the North Sea and regarded as a strong contender for the Kunpeng Technique, had a face as cold as frost.

His blue eyes stared fixedly at Wang Teng's storied ship, and the trident in his hand pointed directly at Wang Teng:

"Audacious madman! How dare you slaughter the sea race Venerables in my North Sea!"

"I am the descendant of the Sea God, guarding this place by the decree of the Sea God! Why do you not stop the ship immediately, kneel down and receive..."

Before the words "receive death" could be uttered.

Wang Teng, who was gnawing on a lobster, didn't even stop his movements; he just slightly raised his eyelids and interrupted him impatiently:

"Shi Hao, are we out of garlic?"

Shi Hao, who was brushing on sauce, paused, then realized what was happening, glanced at the majestic Son of the Sea God, and chuckled:

"Yeah, Brother-in-law! We used it all up for the grilled oysters earlier. I was just worrying about no one to peel the garlic."

"Well, isn't there one ready-made right here."

Wang Teng casually tossed the lobster shell aside.

"Boom!"

The next moment, the void behind him split open, and a massive dark-gold claw that blotted out the sky appeared.

Carrying the supreme pressure of the Divine Fire Realm, ignoring all spatial distance, it appeared directly above Mo Shang's head!

"What?!"

Mo Shang was shocked, just about to swing his golden trident to resist.

But the gap was too large!

One was a monster who had just ignited the divine fire, possessed the power of the Ten Fiends, and swallowed the Saint Emperors Dao Fruit;

The other was a so-called "genius" still fumbling around in the Inscription and Array Formation Realm.

It was just like the Buddha catching the Monkey King.

"Crack!"

The golden trident was directly pinched and bent into a twist.

That giant claw mercilessly grabbed hold of this arrogant Son of the Sea God.

Like grabbing a chick, it plucked him directly off that golden war chariot!

"Presumptuous! I am the Son of the Sea God! I..."

"Slap!"

Wang Teng backhanded him, using divine power to seal his mouth shut.

He also shattered that shining divine armor, replacing it with a set of... coarse linen clothes.

"Whoosh—"

The Son of the Sea God traced a graceful parabola in the air and landed precisely beside the grill on the deck, kneeling right in front of Shi Hao.

"I won't kill you."

Wang Teng's languid voice came, exuding an unquestionable dominance:

"Looking at those muscular arms of yours, you should have quite a bit of strength."

"It just so happens that my Brother-in-law here can't keep up on his own."

"From now on, you are the second chef and kitchen hand on this ship."

"Mo Shang, right? That's an unlucky name; from now on, you'll be called 'A-Hai'."

Wang Teng pointed to the mountain-like pile of purple-skinned garlic and a basket of unprocessed sea urchins beside him:

"A-Hai, peel the garlic first, then scrub those sea urchins clean."

"If you dare to slack off, or dirty the ingredients..."

Wang Teng grinned and pointed to the churning thick soup in the pot:

"I'll stew you, the 'Son of the Sea God,' into the 'Son of Seafood'."

Even Shi Hao was stunned for a moment, then ecstatic; he stuffed a large handful of garlic into Mo Shang's hands and kicked him in the butt:

"What are you stunned for? Didn't you hear what my Brother-in-law said? Get peeling!"

"If you delay my Brother-in-law from eating oysters, I'll melt your trident into toothpicks!"

Thus.

On the North Sea, an incredibly magical scene unfolded.

The dignified descendant of the Sea God, the leader of the younger generation in the North Sea, Mo Shang.

Was now wearing a set of ill-fitting linen clothes, squatting indignantly beside the black pot.

While shedding tears (from the garlic fumes, and also from anger), he was, under Shi Hao's supervision, frantically peeling garlic and scrubbing sea urchins.

Meanwhile, Wang Teng held his two beautiful wives in his arms, eating sashimi personally prepared by the Son of the Sea God, looking at the vaguely visible Kunpeng Nest ahead, and laughed while raising his cup:

"This is more like it."

"Good food and drink, and someone to serve us."

"This is what you call—a Grand Feast on the Sea!"

However, just as Shi Hao had finished stewing that pot of "Seafood Medley" until the soup was thick and milky, and was just about to serve everyone a bowl.

The originally clear blue sky darkened without any warning.

It wasn't dark clouds blocking the sun, but a gray mist that appeared from nowhere.

It was as if it were seeping up from the bottom of the sea, and in the blink of an eye, it shrouded the hundred-mile sea area.

The temperature plummeted.

That kind of cold was not the icy chill of midwinter, but a sinister cold that pierced straight through the soul, as if countless wandering spirits were whispering in one's ears.

"Achoo!"

The Son of the Sea God, Mo Shang, who was squatting in the corner peeling garlic, shivered involuntarily.

As a genius of the sea race, he was most sensitive to changes in the ocean.

He subconsciously raised his head and looked into the depths of the mist.

Immediately after, those eyes that were already filled with humiliation were instantly filled with extreme terror.

"That is..."

"Da... da... da..."

A faint sound of rhythmic knocking, accompanied by the dull sound of water being cleaved, slowly drifted out from the mist.

Following that, a massive, suffocatingly large black ship broke through the mist.

Like a moving black mountain of the underworld, it floated over silently.
