118: The protagonist who transmigrates into a game character

The protagonist, Ye Feng, was a corporate slave who was squeezed until he could barely breathe in the real-world workplace.

He poured all his energy and savings into a Western fantasy online game.

He spent years of effort to create the server's top Great Demon Lord character and personally built the magnificent Evernight Dungeon.

He also meticulously designed ten NPC subordinates with Heaven-Defying attributes; this place was his only harbor for escaping reality.

However, the bad news of the game's shutdown came like a bolt from the blue.

Seeing the seven-figure sum he had topped up about to vanish into thin air, Ye Feng was filled with resentment.

In the final hour before the server closed, he logged into the game, sat on the throne of the Evernight Dungeon, and waited for the end with the ten NPCs.

At the moment the countdown hit zero, the computer suddenly erupted with a blinding glare, and a violent explosion swallowed his consciousness.

When he woke up again, the cold touch of the obsidian throne felt real, and the air was filled with the scent of sulfur and magic.

Ye Feng was shocked to find that he had actually transmigrated as the Great Demon Lord from the game.

And standing in attendance on both sides were the ten Rank 100 NPCs he had personally created.

Afterward, he searched the entire world like a madman, only to find no trace of any other players.

This former game world had already become a real plane of existence.

And he and his Evernight Dungeon were the absolute Dominators of this world.

Overjoyed, Ye Feng immediately appointed his favorite Succubus Head Maid, Lilina, as the Mistress of the Dungeon.

He held a grand wedding with her and regarded the ten NPCs as his only family in this world.

But this "cherishing" was nothing more than a fig leaf for his indulgence in desire.

From then on, the shadow of the Evernight Dungeon loomed over the entire world.

Leading his subordinates, Ye Feng swept through major kingdoms and races with overwhelming force.

Wherever he went, lives were ruined, yet he always managed to wrap his evil deeds in high-sounding excuses.

He called it "purifying the world," but in reality, he was just enjoying the thrill of controlling life and death.

He claimed to be "establishing a new order," but it was only to plunder more wealth and slaves.

Facing his devastated land, King Yar set aside his dignity and surrendered with his remaining subjects, only seeking to save the lives of his people.

But Ye Feng sat on his throne, slowly swirling his wine glass with a cruel smile on his lips:

"Surrender? Do you think I'll accept that?"

He stood up and looked down at the kneeling king, his voice cold and hypocritical.

"To protect my home and the happiness of my family, I must kill the chicken to warn the monkeys."

"Your sacrifice is for a 'brighter' future for this world."

Before he had finished speaking, he raised his hand and cast a Super-Tier Magic spell.

A golden torrent of destruction swept through the entire Al Kingdom; five hundred million lives turned to ash in an instant, and the prosperous nation was reduced to scorched earth.

Afterward, he publicly claimed that the Al Kingdom had colluded with "evil forces" in an attempt to subvert the "righteous order," and that his actions were to "eliminate evil and protect peace."

With his tacit consent and even indulgence, the evil deeds of the ten NPCs were even more heinous.

They captured humans for inhuman experiments, attempting to create stronger weapons of war.

They forced human women to crossbreed with orcs and Demons, solely to cultivate a so-called "new race."

They raided villages, kidnapped children to brainwash them, and trained them as death soldiers loyal to the Evernight Dungeon.

And these bloody atrocities, in Ye Feng's words, became "great feats" to "promote racial evolution" and "optimize the world's genetics."

Gena, a young female guard from the Kingdom of Shenghui, was a fanatical worshiper of his after being brainwashed.

Ye Feng gave her an enchanted demonic sword and told her she was a "messenger of justice," while he, Ye Feng, was the "savior who saves the world."

From then on, Gena became a fanatical believer, traveling everywhere with her demonic sword and preaching Ye Feng's "greatness."

If anyone dared to say a single word against Ye Feng, she would immediately strike them down with her sword.

All while frantically shouting slogans like "purify the heretics."

Completely disregarding that the sword in her hand was stained entirely with the blood of the innocent.

What was even more nauseating was that despite having strength that could crush the world, Ye Feng and his subordinates were addicted to self-directed "games."

Every day they were outwitting and battling shadows, obsessed and never tiring of it.

They often imagined a "powerful evil enemy."

Then they would solemnly formulate battle plans and stage scenes of "outsmarting a strong foe."

They would tensely strategize for a fictional "conspiracy" and celebrate grandly for a non-existent "victory," as if they were truly fighting to protect the world.

Ye Feng enjoyed this thrill of having everything under his control.

He enjoyed the feeling of being feared by some and blindly worshiped by others, turning this world into a playground to satisfy his selfish desires.

And the living beings he oppressed were merely chess pieces in his game, ready to be discarded or destroyed at any time.

In his view, as long as he and his "family" could live comfortably, the pain and death of others were just insignificant background noise... Inside the Cloudtop Temple of City of Seraphim, a hundred Seraphims stood in two rows, wings lowered and expressions solemn.

Just ten minutes ago, this being who had suddenly descended suppressed all their resistance with a single glance.

"So, the 'former masters' you speak of were a bunch of idiots who killed each other?"

Qin Jiuge's voice was soft, yet it caused the entire floating Sky City to tremble slightly.

The leading Archangel, Michael, knelt on one knee:

"Yes, our eight creators built City of Seraphim together, but they fell into madness during the distribution of power and ultimately perished together. That was many years ago."

Qin Jiuge's fingertips lightly tapped the armrest of the throne.

"Do you know of the Evernight Dungeon?"

Archangel Michael recalled:

"This faction appeared suddenly a few years ago and swept across this continent. Its ruler likely comes from the same world as our eight creators."

"Pass down the order: from this day forward, City of Seraphim is open to provide sanctuary to all races oppressed by Evernight."

"And..."

Qin Jiuge stood up, his figure lengthening in the light.

"I will personally pay a visit to this Great Lord."

...In the innermost bedchamber of the Evernight Dungeon, Ye Feng suddenly sat up from the embrace of the Succubus Lilina.

"Master?"

Lilina's eyes were hazy with sleep.

"Someone has taken over City of Seraphim."

Ye Feng's expression was grim.

"The System map shows that the control of that place has changed hands."

The ten NPCs instantly appeared in the bedchamber, led by the strategist Mephisto, who was shrouded in shadows:

"Lord, scouts report that City of Seraphim has lowered a protective barrier, and all the scouting Demons we sent have lost contact."

"A player."

Ye Feng gritted his teeth.

"It must be a player like me! Damn it, this world clearly should belong to me!"

Lilina softly caressed his chest:

"So what if it's really a player? We have you, the Evernight Legion, and the ten of us. This world is already under our control."

Ye Feng gradually calmed down, a sinister light flashing in his eyes:

"Mephisto, initiate the seventh stage of the 'Purification Plan.' First, clean up those remaining human Resistance Forces."

"I want this new 'player' to understand who the true Dominator here is."

"As you command."

...Three days later, a border village in the Kingdom of Shenghui.

The young girl Gena stood in the middle of the burning ruins, holding her enchanted demonic sword.

At her feet were seventeen corpses: the elderly, women, and even three underage children.

"The heretics have been purified."

She whispered devoutly as the bloodstains on the demonic sword were eerily absorbed by the blade.

"For Lord Ye Feng's new world."

"What a pathetic scene."

A cold voice came from the sky.

Gena looked up abruptly to see a man in black robes, with twelve Seraphims floating behind him—sacred beings who were supposed to never set foot on the ground outside Sky City.

"Who are you?"

Gena gripped her demonic sword tightly. The blade trembled and emitted an excited hum; its thirst for a powerful Soul almost broke free of her control.

"I am the one who has come to correct the mistakes."

Qin Jiuge didn't even look at Gena but instead gazed into a half-collapsed cellar deep in the ruins.

He raised his hand and tapped lightly; debris scattered, revealing five children huddled inside.

"Let go of them! These are the 'New Human Seeds' designated by Lord Ye Feng!"

Gena charged with her sword, the blade's light tearing through the air and carrying dark magic that corroded the Soul.

Qin Jiuge didn't move.

One of the twelve Seraphims lightly raised a hand, and a barrier made of Holy Light easily blocked the strike.

"Your sword,"

Qin Jiuge finally looked at Gena,

"Tell me, how much innocent blood has it drunk?"

"Innocent?"

Gena burst into wild laughter.

"Before Lord Ye Feng's great cause, there is no such thing as innocence! Only followers and heretics!"

"I am the messenger of justice, and the sword in my hand purifies all filth!"

"Justice?"

Qin Jiuge smiled, a smile that made Gena's heart palpitate for no reason.

He extended his index finger and pointed from a distance.

The demonic sword in Gena's hand suddenly trembled violently and then let out a shrill shriek.

It wasn't the sound of metal, but the wailing of tens of thousands of wronged Souls!

The enchantment patterns on the blade flashed wildly and then shattered inch by inch!

"No! My sword! Lord Ye Feng gave it to me..."

Gena screamed, trying to grab the crumbling fragments of the demonic sword, but they turned into black smoke and dissipated in her hands.

More terrifyingly, as the demonic sword shattered, countless illusory shadows surged out from it.

Those were the remnants of all the Souls killed by this sword.

They surrounded Gena, weeping and accusing her in silence.

Gena saw the old scholar she had executed on charges of "spreading rumors."

She saw the parents whose entire family was killed simply because they refused to hand over their daughter.

She saw every ordinary person she had once firmly believed was a "heretic."

"No... it's not like that... I am righteous..."

Gena fell to her knees, clutching her head.

"Lord Ye Feng said... Lord Ye Feng said I was saving the world..."

Qin Jiuge walked up to her, looking down at the completely brainwashed girl:

"Now, look at these people you killed and tell me, do you really believe you are righteous?"

Gena's pupils constricted violently; something in her mind was shattering.

Three years of fanatical faith and the accusations of countless wronged Souls before her eyes clashed violently in her consciousness.

"I... I..."

She suddenly let out a heart-wrenching scream, blood-red tears streaming from her eyes.

Then, she suddenly drew a dagger radiating black Qi and lunged at Qin Jiuge.

"For Lord Ye Feng!"

"It seems she is beyond saving..."

With a flick of his finger, Qin Jiuge turned Gena into ash.

Then Qin Jiuge turned to the Seraphim and said:

"Take these children to City of Seraphim first."

"And what about Ye Feng's side?"

Michael asked.

"Let him know what happened. Let him know his 'Messenger of Justice' was killed by me."

"Let's see how this Great Lord reacts."

...Evernight Dungeon, Throne Hall.

"Gena was killed?!"

Ye Feng smashed the crystal cup in his hand in a fit of rage,

"That fellow from City of Seraphim dares to touch my people?!"

Gena was one of his most successful "works," using false justice to completely twist a pure Soul, making her his most fanatical Butcher Blade.

"Assemble the legion."

Ye Feng's voice was bone-chillingly cold,

"I will personally raze City of Seraphim to the ground."

"Lord, please reconsider."

Lilina voiced her dissent, which was rare,

"The opponent could easily make a Seraphim submit; their strength is likely..."

"So what?"

Ye Feng grinned savagely,

"I have the ten of you, the entire Evernight Dungeon, and an endless army of Demons! In this world, I am God!"

He stood up, dark magic surging out like a tide, making the entire hall tremble.

"Have all the vassal races gather. In three days, we will make that sky city fall forever."

...The news spread across the continent like wildfire.

The oppressed races saw the first glimmer of dawn—someone dared to challenge the King of Evernight head-on!

Thorgan, the exiled leader of the Dwarf Kingdom, arrived secretly at City of Seraphim with his remaining troops,

Thranduil, the last Elder of the Elves, crossed the Demon-polluted forest,

Even the splinter group of the Orc Tribes resisting Ye Feng's "hybridization experiments" sent an envoy.

Under Qin Jiuge's mediation, these once-hostile races sat together for the first time... Three days later, the Evernight army arrived at the city gates.

Millions of Demons obscured the sky. Ye Feng stood atop the head of a Bone Dragon, followed by ten NPCs.

On the other side, City of Seraphim floated quietly, its gates wide open.

"Just this much defense?"

Ye Feng sneered,

"It seems I overestimated you."

Qin Jiuge walked out of the city gates alone, stepping through the air, and stopped in front of Ye Feng.

"You're the player who killed Gena?"

Ye Feng narrowed his eyes,

"I'll give you a chance. Kneel and submit, hand over control of City of Seraphim, and I can make you my deputy."

Qin Jiuge didn't answer, only lightly raising his hand.

The flow of time on the entire battlefield suddenly changed.

The movements of the Demon legion became extremely slow; those flapping their wings were suspended in mid-air, and those baring their fangs were frozen like statues.

Only Ye Feng and his ten NPCs could still move normally, but they felt a resistance as if moving through deep water.

"Is this... the Law of Time?!"

Ye Feng cried out in shock.

At that moment, chaos suddenly erupted at the rear of the Evernight Legion!

Dwarven mechanical ballistae rose from the ground, and elven magical arrow rain covered the sky,

Orc heavy cavalry broke through the Demon flanks, and the remnants of the human army surged from all directions, raising their banners,

All the oppressed races, under Qin Jiuge's secret organization, completed this desperate counterattack!

"How is this possible?! How could they unite?!"

Ye Feng was stunned.

These races clearly hated each other; under his rule, there was never a possibility of them joining forces!

"Because you gave them a common enemy."

Qin Jiuge said indifferently,

"Because you made them understand that if they didn't unite, they would only face extinction."

The tide of battle turned sharply.

Although the Evernight Legion was powerful, it was trapped in a heavy siege.

More importantly, Qin Jiuge's presence completely suppressed the power of Ye Feng and his ten NPCs,

Every time they used magic, they felt the backlash intensify.

"Impossible... my Rank... my equipment..."

Ye Feng looked at his gradually dimming skill bar, finally panicking.

"Those 'attributes' you believe in are nothing more than the world's temporary adaptation to you."

Qin Jiuge approached step by step,

"And now, I am taking back this 'favor'."

He reached out his hand and made a grasping motion.

Ye Feng's Divine Artifact-tier equipment—the Evernight Crown, the Demon Lord Armor, the Gloves of the Abyss... one by one, they shattered!

"No! My equipment!"

Ye Feng frantically tried to grab the fragments.

The ten NPCs tried to come to his rescue, but they were surrounded by the twelve Seraphim.

Michael severed Lilina's Succubus tail with a single sword stroke. The other Seraphim coordinated perfectly, driving the ten once-invincible NPCs into a corner.

"It's over, Ye Feng."

Qin Jiuge grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up,

"But death is too easy for you."

...Three days later, above the ruins of the Evernight Dungeon.

Representatives of all surviving races gathered here to witness the final judgment.

Ye Feng and his ten NPCs were stripped of all their power, bound with holy chains, and knelt in the center of the ruins.

"According to the joint judgment of all races,"

Thorgan, the Dwarf King, announced loudly,

"Ye Feng and his lackeys have committed seventeen felonies, including genocide, crimes against life, and enslavement. The sentence is..."

"Wait."

Qin Jiuge raised his hand.

Everyone looked at him.

"Death is too simple."

Qin Jiuge walked up to Ye Feng, looking down into his terrified eyes,

"I want you and your cherished 'family', to live forever in the pain you inflicted upon others."

He snapped his fingers.

The ten NPCs let out piercing screams at the same time. Their bodies began to twist and deform, their Ranks dropped to zero, their race was forcibly changed, and they became the weakest, ugliest low-level Goblins.

"No! Lilina! Mephisto!"

Ye Feng struggled to rush over, only to find that he had also turned into a Goblin, and the scrawniest one at that.

Qin Jiuge opened a portal, behind which was the deepest and most notorious Goblin Lair on the continent.

That place was a true Hell where the weak were prey to the strong, where low-level Goblins faced a miserable fate of cannibalism and being hunted by powerful monsters every day.

"This lair has a self-circulating resurrection mechanism."

Qin Jiuge said calmly,

"You will die and resurrect there repeatedly, never able to escape. And with every death, you will clearly feel the pain."

"No! I beg you! Kill me! Just kill me!"

Ye Feng cried out in a breakdown.

"Kill you?"

Qin Jiuge smiled,

"Then who will repay the five hundred million people of the Al Kingdom? Who will repay the humans you used for live experiments?"

He kicked Ye Feng into the portal, followed by the ten NPCs who had turned into Goblins.

Before the portal closed, everyone heard the desperate wails coming from within.

Qin Jiuge turned to face the crowd:

"The Evernight has passed. From now on, it is your own world."

As soon as he finished speaking, Qin Jiuge vanished from the spot.

On the ground, the leaders of the various races looked at each other.

Having experienced this catastrophe, they finally understood that true peace can only be built on mutual respect.

In the deepest part of the Goblin Lair, the eleven newly arrived Goblins were being surrounded by the original inhabitants of the lair.

Ye Feng protected Lilina behind him. Although she was now just an ugly female Goblin, in his eyes, she was still the Succubus who had accompanied him for three years.

"Don't be afraid..."

Ye Feng said tremblingly,

"We... we'll always find a way..."

A massive Goblin leader grinned, revealing a mouth full of yellow teeth:

"Newcomers? Do you know the rules? Newcomers must kill each other; only the last three survivors will be accepted."

Ye Feng looked at the ten former NPCs behind him, then at Lilina. The look in their eyes was one of ferocity—yes, Qin Jiuge had wiped out their loyalty to Ye Feng.

"No... it shouldn't be like this..."

...City of Seraphim, Michael stood on the city wall, Looking in the direction where Qin Jiuge disappeared.

"Will he come back?"

A young angel asked.

"Maybe not."

Michael said softly,

"But what he left us is a world where we can write our own future."

She spread her wings and flew toward the Joint Council Hall of all races, which was being rebuilt.

A new era had begun.
