65: A world where men are reduced to beasts
[Introduction to This World's Mission Plot]:
This is a world where men have been reduced to Beast Husbands. In this world, women domesticate men into Beast Husbands;
they are no longer husbands, but livestock and gladiators belonging to women.
Every inch of social status climbed must be paved with the flesh and blood of men.
The massive Colosseum is the only ladder for advancement, where women bet their Beast Husbands, making them bite and slaughter each other.
The master of the victor wins power and respect, while the loser... is hastily dragged into a deep pit, their very name rotting away with them.
People cheer fanatically, enshrining cruelty as tradition and viewing enslavement as order.
Beast Husbands are indoctrinated from childhood: your life does not belong to you; your value lies only in pleasing your master and winning battles.
The Beast Husbands take pride in being chosen and are loyal to being driven, even going to their deaths with a twisted sense of glory. Servility is deeply rooted in their marrow, and they have forgotten even the shape of freedom.
The Original Owner was a broken cog in this machinery of enslavement.
He once fought for his mistress; scars were his medals, and obedience was his faith.
Until the final time, when he fell on the sand, his throat torn open by his opponent.
From the stands came his master's dissatisfied cold snort, followed by a tide of boos.
No one closed his eyes for him; only the next Beast Husband, already dragging chains, walked into the arena.
Here, love is dead, leaving only the possessed and the possessor; humanity is extinguished, leaving only bestiality and absolute dominance.
[Plot Introduction Finished]
[Original Owner's Wish: To build a free and beautiful world]
After reading the plot introduction, Qin Jiuge was deeply interested in this.
"Let's begin."
...The sound of chains dragging across the sand was more piercing than a blade cutting through flesh.
Qin Jiuge opened his eyes in intense pain, a tearing burning sensation in his throat.
He tried to raise his hand to touch the wound, only to find heavy iron chains shackled to his wrists.
Memories surged like a tide—the memories of the Original Owner, that pathetic person who fought to the death to please his 'master.'
"Truly pathetic."
Qin Jiuge muttered to himself, his voice hoarse from the throat injury, yet carrying a hint of a playful smile.
He slowly sat up and looked around.
It was a crude stone cell, the straw mat covered in dried bloodstains.
Outside the iron bars, two men draped in animal skins curled up in a corner.
Their eyes were hollow, and the collars around their necks were engraved with their master's name—Moriya.
"Awake? Master said your performance this time was too poor; no food for you today."
One of the Beast Husbands said woodenly.
The other looked up, a hint of jealousy actually flashing in his eyes:
"At least you're still alive. I lost last time, and Master didn't let me into her room for three days."
Qin Jiuge narrowed his eyes.
It seemed servility had already seeped into the depths of their Souls.
"Interesting," he said softly, while simultaneously sensing the limits of this body—it was too weak.
But as a Devil King, his Soul's strength far exceeded his physical form.
He closed his eyes, mobilizing a trace of the demonic magic Origin remaining in his body.
This fragile body could barely carry one-billionth of his power.
However, it was enough.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
The first Beast Husband looked warily at the black patterns gradually surfacing on Qin Jiuge's body.
Qin Jiuge did not answer.
He reached out and easily crushed the iron chains on his wrists as if they were made of paper.
The two Beast Husbands' eyes widened.
"You're crazy! Damaging the Master's property will get you flogged!"
"No, it's worse! Master will throw you into the Hungry Beast Pit!"
Qin Jiuge slowly stood up, the wounds on his body healing at a rate visible to the naked eye.
He walked to the cell door and gave it a gentle push; the heavy iron door shattered like thin ice.
"Take me to see your master."
His voice was calm, yet carried an unquestionable majesty.
The two Beast Husbands glanced at each other and actually lunged forward together.
"Catch this traitor! Master will reward us!"
Qin Jiuge didn't even move.
A black shockwave spread from him; the two Beast Husbands were sent flying, crashing against the stone wall and falling unconscious.
"Nonsense."
He walked out of the cell and stepped onto the stone stairs leading to the surface... In the Colosseum, a new round of slaughter was about to begin.
The spectator stands were filled with women in magnificent clothes, laughing loudly and critiquing the Beast Husbands about to enter the arena.
On the highest stand, the three most noble women occupied the best seats.
In the middle was Catherine, the owner of the Colosseum; she possessed twelve of the most powerful Beast Husbands, and every match brought in staggering profits.
On the left was Alia, the daughter of the City Magistrate, and on the right was Margaret, known as the 'Great Master of Beast Taming.'
"Is there any fresh stock today?"
Alia asked lazily.
Catherine smiled:
"There's a wild brat from the Northern Border, supposedly able to tear apart an Armored Bear with his bare hands. I bought him for a high price."
"Oh? And his opponent?"
"The brother of that fellow who lost yesterday."
Catherine said nonchalantly:
"Revenge matches are always particularly exciting, aren't they?"
The spectator stands erupted in enthusiastic cheers.
Two men were pushed into the arena; one was tall and fierce, while the other's eyes burned with hatred.
But he did not hate this twisted system; he hated 'the Beast Husband who killed his brother.'
"Begin!" the adjudicator shouted.
Just as the two Beast Husbands were about to lunge at each other, a wall of the Colosseum collapsed with a boom.
In the dust, a figure slowly walked out.
Qin Jiuge was bare-chested and covered in wounds, yet he stood straight.
His gaze swept over the magnificently dressed women in the stands, finally settling on Catherine at the highest point.
"Who are you?"
Catherine stood up, her voice cold.
"I am here to give you a chance to make a choice."
Qin Jiuge's voice wasn't loud, yet it clearly reached everyone in the arena.
"Give up this twisted rule and return freedom to all men."
A deathly silence followed.
Then, deafening laughter erupted.
"Hahaha! Listen to what he's saying!"
"This guy is crazy! Completely insane!"
"Catherine, it seems your Beast Husband needs a good 'education'!"
Catherine's face darkened:
"Seize him. I want to skin him myself."
Twenty fully armed guards flooded into the arena from all directions. Holding spears and net guns, they surrounded Qin Jiuge in a well-trained manner.
"Last chance."
Qin Jiuge said.
He was answered by an overwhelming onslaught of attacks.
Qin Jiuge sighed.
He raised his hand and gave a light wave.
Black ripples spread out with him as the center. All the guards who touched the ripples instantly froze, then shattered piece by piece like broken porcelain.
No blood, no screams, only ashes drifting in the wind.
The laughter stopped abruptly.
"Ma... Magic?"
Someone said tremblingly.
In this world, magic had been lost for a thousand years.
Beast Husbands were taught that only physical strength had value, and only women were qualified to possess knowledge and wisdom.
Qin Jiuge walked toward the stands step by step.
Several more groups of guards tried to block him, but the outcome was no different.
"What on earth are you?"
Catherine took a step back, but then straightened her back again.
"No matter what you are, here, women are the Dominators! Beast Husbands, protect your master!"
To Qin Jiuge's surprise, those Beast Husbands in the stands—
those men who should have been the victims—actually stood up and blocked the way in front of the women.
There was no fear in their eyes, only blind loyalty.
"Protect the Master!"
"To die for the Master is glory!"
"Kill this traitor!"
Dozens of Beast Husbands leaped from the stands and lunged at Qin Jiuge.
Among them were the Original Owner's 'comrades-in-arms' and the pathetic people who were just complaining in the cell yesterday about not having enough to eat.
At this moment, they had all become accomplices in defending this twisted order.
A flash of pity crossed Qin Jiuge's eyes, which immediately turned into resolve.
"Tragic."
He snapped his fingers.
All the Beast Husbands lunging at him froze in mid-air, and then their bodies began to twist and deform.
Their limbs reversed, and the sound of bones shattering popped like firecrackers.
Screams rose one after another, but Qin Jiuge's expression remained unchanged.
"Look at what the 'masters' you are desperately protecting are doing." He pointed toward the stands.
Those women were fleeing in panic, even stepping over other women in their attempt to escape.
Catherine ran toward the back door surrounded by guards, without even looking back at the Beast Husbands fighting for her.
But Qin Jiuge would not let them escape.
A black barrier rose from the ground, sealing the entire Colosseum.
The fleeing women crashed into the invisible wall, pounding on it in terror.
"Game time is over."
Qin Jiuge slowly rose into the air, looking down at the crowd below.
"You have enjoyed 'tradition' for too long; now it's time to taste a different flavor."
He reached out, his five fingers clenching the air.
The fleeing women were suddenly lifted into the air by an invisible force, struggling and screaming, their magnificent dresses fluttering in the wind.
"Please! Let me go! I can give you money, give you status!"
"I'll give you all my Beast Husbands! I have thirty of the strongest ones!"
"My father is the City Lord; he will kill you!"
Qin Jiuge was expressionless:
"What is the difference between your begging for mercy and the men who died at your hands?"
He gently tightened his fingers.
The first woman's neck snapped, and her body fell from the air, crashing onto the sand.
Then the second, the third.
The women in the spectator stands screamed; some Beast Husbands tried to use their bodies to form a human wall to protect them,
but Qin Jiuge needed only a glance, and those Beast Husbands exploded into a mist of blood.
"Why?"
A young Beast Husband knelt on the ground, his eyes full of tears,
"What did we do wrong? We were just being loyal to our master!"
Qin Jiuge landed in front of him:
"Your master views you as livestock; why are you still loyal to her?"
"Because... because she is my master."
The Beast Husband said blankly,
"Without a master, we are nothing."
"What is your name?"
"I... I don't have a name. Master calls me Number Three."
Qin Jiuge closed his eyes briefly.
When servility has gone deep into the marrow, even depriving a person of the right to have a name, these pathetic people are beyond saving.
"Then, Number Three, you are free," Qin Jiuge said.
Terror blossomed on the Beast Husband's face:
"No! Don't drive me away! I need a master! Please, let me have a master!"
Qin Jiuge shook his head and turned to leave. Behind him came the sound of the Beast Husband wailing, grieving for having "lost his master."
In the stands, only a few of the highest-status women were still alive. Catherine, Alia, and Margaret were fixed to their seats by an invisible force, unable to move.
"You like watching Beast Husbands fight, don't you?"
Qin Jiuge smiled,
"Now, it's your turn."
He snapped his fingers, and they were exposed in the empty Colosseum.
"No! You can't do this!" Alia screamed.
"I certainly can."
Qin Jiuge said,
"Just like what you did to men."
He snatched three iron swords from the air and threw them in front of the three women.
"Fight. The last one alive, I will let her leave alive."
The three looked at each other. Catherine was the first to pick up a sword:
"Sorry, sisters."
"You bitch!"
Margaret also grabbed a sword.
Alia hesitated for a moment, then also picked up a weapon.
The scene that followed was ugly and cruel.
These three women, who were usually high and mighty, now fought each other like wild beasts for a slim chance of survival.
Their former elegance was gone, replaced only by primal survival instincts.
In the end, Catherine killed the other two, herself also heavily wounded.
She knelt in a pool of blood and looked up at Qin Jiuge:
"Now... can I go?"
Qin Jiuge nodded: "Of course."
Just as a look of joy appeared on Catherine's face, Qin Jiuge added:
"But you have to pass one final test first."
He dragged an unconscious Beast Husband down from the stands and threw him in front of Catherine.
"Kill him, and you can go."
Catherine raised her sword without hesitation, stabbing toward the defenseless man.
But just as the tip of the sword was about to touch his skin, she suddenly stopped.
"Why?"
She murmured to herself,
"He once fought for me, bled for me..."
"Go on."
Qin Jiuge said coldly,
"Just like you did countless times before."
Catherine's sword trembled, and finally slid from her hand.
She broke down in tears:
"I can't do it... I can't do it..."
"But you did it countless times before."
Qin Jiuge said,
"The only difference was that you didn't have to do it yourself then; someone else did the dirty work for you."
Catherine collapsed on the ground, her spirit completely broken.
Qin Jiuge no longer looked at her, turning his gaze toward the city outside the Colosseum.
With towers standing tall and lights shining brightly, this civilization built on enslavement was so prosperous, yet so decadent.
"Original Owner, you wanted to build a world of equality between men and women."
Qin Jiuge said softly,
"But the people here are beyond hope."
"Women are used to ruling, and men are used to being ruled."
"In that case..."
He opened his arms, and infinite dark magic power surged from his body, shooting straight into the clouds.
The sky turned dark red, and the earth began to tremble.
Buildings collapsed, and people fled in panic, but there was nowhere to run.
Black flames surged from beneath the ground, consuming all life.
Those former 'masters' and 'Beast Husbands' now faced death equally.
They struggled and screamed in the flames, eventually turning into ashes.
An old Beast Husband knelt in the flames and prayed:
"O Great Goddess, save us..."
"No goddess will save you."
Qin Jiuge's voice resounded through heaven and earth,
"Nor will any god. There is only yourselves, and you chose this path."
He floated above the city, watching this city of sin burn in black flames.
The screams gradually weakened, finally falling into silence.
When the last building collapsed and the last life perished, Qin Jiuge landed on a field of ruins.
Sunlight pierced through the dark red sky, shining on the charred earth.
"Equality has been achieved."
Qin Jiuge said softly,
"In the most thorough way."
He turned, tore open space, and stepped into the Void Realm.
Behind him was a world completely wiped out, and a piece of history that would never be remembered.
Perhaps one day, new life will be born on these ruins.
They will have no memories of 'Beast Husbands' or 'masters,' and will not know that there was once such a twisted civilization here.
And Qin Jiuge will continue his journey, seeking the next interesting world, the next target worth destroying or saving.
