155: Too high in seniority

"Before I became a Disciple."

"I truly didn't know about the Jinling Family."

"Because I lived in a very small place."

"That place is called Tian Yuan City."

"Presumably, none of you know about Tian Yuan City, right?"

"Because that place is simply too small."

"Information is blocked, so I couldn't come into contact with large Families like yours."

These words gave the people of the Jinling Family a sense of superiority.

The group of people who had found Yang Yi displeasing earlier now looked at him with a hint of approval.

Yang Yi continued, "Later, I learned about your Jinling Family."

"However."

Yang Yi paused at this point, taking a moment to seriously survey everyone present.

"I considered the people of your Jinling Family as enemies."

Everyone looked bewildered.

Someone asked, "Why is that?"

Yang Yi chuckled, "Naturally, it's because of the Zhang Family."

"I heard that the Young Master of the Zhang Family married into your Jinling Family."

"I annihilated the Zhang Family."

"How could your Jinling Family let me off?"

He changed the subject, bringing up the Discipleship ceremony from a few days ago.

"A few days ago, I was about to become a Disciple."

"Several people from the Diancang Sect insisted on preventing me from becoming a Disciple."

"They even brought a few witnesses."

"One of those witnesses was from your Jinling Family."

"What was his name, I've forgotten."

"This fellow claimed to represent the Jinling Family."

"He said I was some kind of evil Dao."

"So I killed him, along with the other witnesses and those who caused trouble."

"Since he represented the Jinling Family, presumably your Jinling Family had long wanted to kill me."

"Naturally, I wouldn't be polite to an enemy."

Yang Yi showed no intention of apologizing or making amends.

Every word he spoke clarified the facts, and he had valid reasons.

Jin Qiuyan chuckled softly, biting her lip and playfully turning a jade-colored cup in her hand.

"From what you're saying, it's our Jinling Family that's in the wrong."

"I didn't mean that."

"Since they are enemies, there is no right or wrong."

Jin Qiuyan smiled faintly and suddenly looked at the silent Manxin Old Ancestor.

"Third Grandmother, what do you think should be done about this matter?"

"He is your Disciple."

"Out of respect for your Face, we don't want to make things difficult for him."

"But now, besides us, there are others who want to cause him trouble."

"Who?" Manxin Old Ancestor asked.

Jin Qiuyan waved her hand, calling over a beautiful girl beside her, and told her to summon Sect Leader Zixu and Cang Jiuzhou, who were waiting in the living room.

A moment later, Sect Leader Zixu and Cang Jiuzhou arrived.

They were startled when they saw Yang Yi and Manxin Old Ancestor.

However, they quickly recovered and greeted everyone present with smiles and laughter.

Those who didn't know would have thought they were friends.

In reality, they wished each other dead.

As soon as Sect Leader Zixu and Cang Jiuzhou sat down, Manxin Old Ancestor aggressively asked, "Are you two here to cause trouble for my Disciple?"

Sect Leader Zixu and Cang Jiuzhou were slightly taken aback.

Cang Jiuzhou immediately explained, "No, no."

"How could I cause trouble for your Disciple?"

"There must be some misunderstanding here."

Manxin Old Ancestor smiled and looked at Jin Qiuyan, feigning suspicion, "Are you lying to me?"

Jin Qiuyan smiled, looking helplessly at Sect Leader Zixu and Cang Jiuzhou, "You two should just tell the truth."

"It's good that everyone is here today."

Sect Leader Zixu's expression darkened slightly as he said, "Yang Yi has repeatedly killed people from my Diancang Sect."

"He also killed people from the Jinling Family."

"Who knows how much innocent blood is on his hands."

"These people cannot die in vain."

"As a Sect Master, I must seek justice for them."

Manxin Old Ancestor nodded slightly and turned to Cang Jiuzhou, "What do you mean?"

"Do you have any grudges with Yang Yi?"

Cang Jiuzhou thought for a moment.

He had no grudges with Yang Yi, and the Jinling Family had not yet stated their position.

So he smiled ambiguously, "No grudges."

"I just came to see an old friend."

Sect Leader Zixu was furious at his words and glared at him fiercely.

Jin Qiuyan glanced at Cang Jiuzhou in surprise.

Earlier, he hadn't said that; he had been completely on the same side as Sect Leader Zixu.

Why had he suddenly changed his mind?

Was he afraid of Manxin Old Ancestor?

As she pondered, Cang Jiuzhou suddenly shifted the conflict to the Jinling Family.

"The Diancang Sect and the Luoyue Sect have long-standing grievances."

"Even without Yang Yi, they wouldn't remain quiet."

"This time, I came to the Jinling Family because I wanted to see what the Jinling Family's stance is."

"After all, Yang Yi killed someone from the Jinling Family."

His words were self-evident; everyone understood.

Jin Qiuyan had not yet made a decision when a disheveled woman suddenly ran in from outside.

She held a precious sword in her hand.

After rushing in, she raised her sword and lunged at Yang Yi.

However, before she could reach Yang Yi, she was stopped by two women.

"Sister, what are you doing?"

"Stop quickly."

Under the persuasion of the two women, the woman threw the precious sword to the ground.

She glared fiercely at Yang Yi, trembling all over.

Then she turned to Jin Qiuyan, "Clan Chief, you must seek justice for my husband!"

"He went to the Luoyue Sect to attend the Discipleship ceremony, but he was killed by a villain, leaving us, orphans and a widow."

"How can we live?"

Suddenly, she pointed fiercely at Yang Yi, "He killed my husband!"

"Please sit down first."

Jin Qiuyan was a little impatient, and her expression also turned cold.

Her gaze towards Yang Yi was also somewhat unfriendly.

If Yang Yi were merely the Clan Chief of the Yang family, this matter would be easy to handle; she could just send a few people to kill him.

But now, Yang Yi's identity was different.

He was a Disciple of Manxin Old Ancestor.

He was a Disciple of the Luoyue Sect.

Killing him would be equivalent to going to war with the Luoyue Sect.

While the Jinling Family was powerful, the Luoyue Sect was not to be trifled with.

If the two sides fought, there would inevitably be heavy losses, and they would likely be taken advantage of by others.

She couldn't allow two major powers to fall into conflict for the sake of two minor figures.

However, the matter also couldn't be left unresolved.

Jin Qiuyan was in a difficult position.

Manxin Old Ancestor supported Yang Yi, while the two Sect Masters of Opening Heaven Gate and Diancang Sect wished Yang Yi dead.

Whatever she did seemed inappropriate.

Just then, a woman beside her whispered a few words into her ear.

Jin Qiuyan's eyes widened slightly, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

After pondering for a moment, she said with a smile, "Enemies are easier to make than to unmake."

"We cannot drag the Sect and Family into eternal damnation because of the lives and deaths of a few people."

"Even more so, we cannot allow the Sect and Family to suffer more casualties because of the deaths of a few people."

"However, we also cannot pretend that nothing happened."

"What do you all think of this?"

"The Jinling Family, Diancang Sect, and Opening Heaven Gate will each send one person to fight Yang Yi to the death."

"Life or death is irrelevant."

"After the fight, all grudges will be wiped clean."
