159: Chapter 159 Murong’s Family Matters
Under her mother's encouraging gaze, Murong Lan spent over ten minutes vividly describing her 'difficult' romance.
When she finished her last sentence, her mother remained calm, not at all surprised by the explosive storyline.
"Mom! Why do you seem not to care about me at all!" Murong Lan looked up, her face full of resentment.
The woman crossed her arms, her index finger tapping her arm, seemingly lost in thought.
Due to her thin clothing, her round, full bosom seemed about to spill out, her charm undiminished.
"A Lan, did he take advantage of you?" Tang Jiayu asked a soul-stirring question.
Murong Lan's cheeks flushed, but her tone was firm as she said, "No!"
Thinking back, besides holding hands, touching her face, and simple embraces, she and Xiao Ran had done nothing else!
Tang Jiayu looked directly into her daughter's eyes, seemingly trying to find a clue, but the latter met her gaze without flinching.
It wasn't until a blush appeared on her daughter's fair cheeks that she believed her.
Then, she looked at her daughter with gentle eyes and softly asked, "A Lan, let me ask you one thing first: do you regret it?"
"I..." Murong Lan pouted, a hint of hesitation flashing in her eyes, as if she couldn't make up her mind.
She couldn't even understand herself why that day... The woman saw through her daughter's thoughts at a glance and said with a smile, "See? You still regret it."
"Mom... I..." Murong Lan wanted to retort, but finally pursed her lips and swallowed her words, "But Mom, he's a scumbag... I..."
The woman smiled sweetly, her eyes bright: "A Lan, do you know how your father and I got together?"
"Huh?" Murong Lan looked confused, not understanding what her mother meant.
"Let me tell you! Back then, your dad was also a master at flirting; his philandering was much worse than your scumbag boyfriend's! But in the end, wasn't he still reined in by Mom?" The woman covered her mouth and chuckled, her ample bosom heaving.
"Huh?" This explosive topic attracted Murong Qing, who had been spacing out nearby.
"A Lan, breaking up with someone isn't a skill. Under the premise of protecting yourself, being able to tie a man to your side and make him settle down—that's a skill!" Tang Jiayu said with a triumphant smile.
"According to what you said, your ex-boyfriend's character is actually quite good. I know your personality; you're definitely the 'love-struck' type! If he had wanted to, you probably would have been completely taken advantage of long ago!"
"You said he abandoned you at the concert, but that statement is a bit forced. You two had already broken up, and it's normal for him to prioritize his current girlfriend; this shows he has principles!"
"As for the rumors about him ruining girls' reputations, it's not necessarily true. He didn't even take advantage of you, a wealthy and beautiful woman who practically offered herself to him, so would he really go after other girls?"
She seemed to see through everything, her eyes sparkling with wisdom:
"You will never know what methods a woman will use to snatch a man!"
"Honey traps, schemes to sow discord, self-inflicted injury schemes, public opinion campaigns, intrigues—everything imaginable!"
"A Lan, A Qing, don't laugh, but Mom actually half-coaxed and half-tricked your dad into marriage, and then after we got married, Mom got pregnant with you two."
As Tang Jiayu spoke, she gently stroked her two adorable daughters, her eyes filled with happiness and contentment.
Murong Lan sat cross-legged on the sofa, her home shorts fully exposing her fair thighs, her hands naturally resting on her lap.
The left shoulder strap had slipped into her sleeve, making her shoulder appear very smooth.
Her gaze was unfocused, and she remained still, lost in thought.
Time seemed to pass for a long while before her eyes finally reacted, and she then asked her question:
"Mom, do you mean I can win him back and then firmly keep him by my side?"
Tang Jiayu hadn't expected her daughter to ask that, so she shook her head:
"No, a simp never has a good ending! If you really can't let go of him, then first make him realize that he can't live without you! If you can't achieve that, then give up!"
"But he has such a beautiful ex-girlfriend, and even a top-tier female celebrity! How can I capture his heart?" Murong Lan transformed into an eager student, humbly seeking advice.
"First, understand him and them... then you can leverage your own... this way... this way..."
Tang Jiayu seemed to enter her moment of glory, earnestly imparting her experiences to her two daughters.
Two hours later, Murong Lan seemed to have undergone a sacred baptism, her pretty face glowing anew.
The gloom on her face had long vanished, replaced by a confident radiance!
As for whether her newly learned tricks would work, that remained to be seen.
"Oh? Why are both my precious daughters at home!" As the mother and daughters reviewed their knowledge, a deep male voice suddenly came.
The Sisters turned around in surprise, looking at the figure in the entryway: "Dad! Why are you home so early?"
Murong Yao casually changed into his slippers and hung his coat on the wall.
Then he stretched lazily and walked towards them: "There wasn't much at the company, so I came back early."
Looking at their incredibly handsome and mature father, the Sisters exchanged glances.
As if remembering what their mother had said, they couldn't help but let out a giggle.
"Is there something on Dad's face? Why are you laughing?" Murong Yao touched his face, looking at his two daughters in confusion.
"Nothing!" The two shook their heads repeatedly, making their father scratch his head.
Tang Jiayu smiled at the warm scene and said, "I'll go get some fruit; you all chat."
"Wife! Thank you for your hard work!" Murong Yao looked at his wife, grinning.
"Go on, go on, the girls are watching, it's so cheesy!" Tang Jiayu waved her hand, leaving him with a graceful back.
Only the father and daughters remained in the living room.
Murong Yao immediately slumped back in a relaxed pose, looking at his daughters and saying, "My dear daughters, there's something I need to tell you."
"Dad, what is it?"
"I didn't tell you before, but a few days ago, your Cousin Tang Wanxin was in a car accident..." Murong Yao delivered a heartbreaking piece of news.
"What!" The Sisters immediately jumped up, astonishment rippling across their faces.
Among all their relatives of similar age, they had the best relationship with this Cousin, who was three years older!
As children, the Sisters loved to follow her around, trailing after her.
Now, without any preparation, they had received such terrible news!
They found it somewhat difficult to accept at first.
"Dad, how is she now?" The Sisters asked anxiously.
Murong Yao shook his head: "Her condition is not good; she's still in a coma."
"Then what should we do? What did the doctor say?"
"The doctor said there's a possibility she could become a vegetative state." He didn't hide it from his daughters.
"What! A... vegetative state?!" Murong Lan's neck felt stiff, somewhat unable to believe the news.
"Hmm, it's hard to say for sure; let's hope for a miracle." Murong Yao said with a hint of melancholy, "I'll take you to see her after I'm done with work these days!"
A miracle? That was just a way to comfort people!
The relationships within their family were all very good.
When something like this happened, no one felt good.
The Sisters were still in a state of heartbreak.
The atmosphere in the living room suddenly fell silent...
