103: Chapter 13 The Interesting Three Little Ones
Jiang Hao concealed all his aura, like an ordinary traveler, strolling through the mountains and rivers of the Primordial Ancient Star.
He passed through Human Race tribes, seeing clansmen gathered around bonfires, offering sacrifices to heaven and earth, and practicing rudimentary Martial Skills.
He also traversed the ancient cities of the Remnant Clan of the Primordial Era, experiencing architectural styles and Cultivation civilizations vastly different from the outside world.
Many years passed, with vast changes, yet this Ancient Star still maintained many of its primitive features, following the Dao of nature, possessing a unique charm.
One day, he arrived at the edge of a treacherous mountain range named Dragon Fall Ridge.
This place was filled with Evil Qi, with many Vicious Beasts and poisonous insects, but it also grew some rare Spirit Medicine not found outside, attracting many Cultivators to venture in.
As Jiang Hao was admiring a strange cliff that resembled a giant Dragon's skeleton, he suddenly smiled, "This is interesting."
Immediately after, urgent shouts and sounds of fighting came from the valley below.
"Run, AMan, duck into the crevice on the left!"
"Sister AYue, it's catching up, it's so fast!"
"Roar, you guys go first, I'll cover the rear, leave this Black-Scaled Leopard to me!"
Jiang Hao's gaze lowered, and he saw three young people, who looked no older than twelve or thirteen, being chased in the valley by a Vicious Beast covered in black scales and over a zhang long.
The Black-Scaled Leopard was incredibly fast, its sharp claws glowing faintly, comparable to a Cultivator in the Dao Palace Secret Realm, definitely not something ordinary children could contend with.
Yet, the three children cooperated tacitly, narrowly escaping danger.
The boy covering the rear was the tallest and strongest, with bronze skin and a faint golden pattern on his forehead, clearly from the Remnant Clan of the Primordial Era.
He held a crude stone axe and roared as he met the Black-Scaled Leopard. His strength was considerable; one swing of the axe struck the Black-Scaled Leopard's front paw, sending sparks flying. Although he was staggered backward, he managed to block it for a moment.
Another boy, a Human Race member with agile movements and darker skin, skillfully darted among the rocks, continuously throwing sharp pebbles that accurately targeted the Black-Scaled Leopard's vulnerable spots, such as its eyes, disrupting its movements.
The only girl was also Human Race, with a delicate face and remarkably calm eyes. She seemed very familiar with the terrain, guiding her companions to retreat into narrower areas.
At the same time, she quickly pulled out some dried herbal powder from her In my arms and scattered it behind them. The powder had an irritating smell, causing the Black-Scaled Leopard to shake its head in annoyance, its speed slightly slowing.
"This is interesting." A hint of surprise flashed in Jiang Hao's eyes. The Cultivation of these three children was only at the Sea of Wheels Secret Realm level, which was nothing remarkable outside.
However, at such a young age, facing a Vicious Beast far beyond their own strength, they not only didn't panic and scatter but were able to utilize their respective strengths and cooperate in defense. This Heart-Nature, courage, and instinctive combat prowess far surpassed their peers.
What interested Jiang Hao even more was that as he secretly observed, he noticed the pillars of Luck above the heads of these three children.
Although still very weak and nascent, they were condensed and unscattered, subtly glowing, entirely different from the generally dim or mixed Luck of the Human Race tribes and the Remnant Clan of the Primordial Era.
The Human Race girl's Luck was faintly intertwined with a wisp of faint Creation Starlight.
And deep within the Remnant Clan of the Primordial Era boy's Luck, there was a tiny, almost imperceptible ancient Savage Imprint.
The Human Race boy's Luck, however, appeared upright and peaceful, yet full of tenacity.
"They are all good prospects, favored by Luck. No wonder they came together and ran to such a dangerous place," Jiang Hao realized.
It seems there's something near Dragon Fall Ridge that attracted them, or perhaps this is simply the starting point where their destinies intertwine.
This feeling was very familiar; many protagonists in stories gain Opportunities this way.
At this moment, AMan, the Remnant Clan of the Primordial Era boy, once again clashed head-on with the Black-Scaled Leopard. His stone axe finally couldn't withstand it, breaking with a "crack." He was also swatted on the shoulder by a claw, bleeding profusely, and sent flying backward.
"AMan!"
"Let's fight it to the death!"
The other two children's eyes were bloodshot, and they were about to charge forward.
Jiang Hao knew that if he didn't act soon, these three interesting little fellows might truly perish here.
He had no intention of taking disciples or being a nanny, but since they met by chance, it wouldn't hurt to give them an Opportunity.
He did not show himself; his mind merely stirred.
Instantly, a gentle breeze inexplicably swept through the valley.
This wind was incredibly soft, yet carried an indescribable rhythm, gently brushing past the furiously pouncing Black-Scaled Leopard.
The fierce Black-Scaled Leopard's body suddenly stiffened, as if restrained by an invisible force.
Extreme fear showed in its crimson beast eyes, and with a whimper, it tucked its tail between its legs and darted into the depths of the dense forest without looking back, disappearing from sight.
The three children, who were preparing to fight to the death, were stunned. They looked blankly in the direction the Black-Scaled Leopard had fled, then at each other, not understanding what had happened.
"Wh-what happened? Why did that big black cat run away?" AMan asked innocently, clutching his bleeding shoulder.
"I don't know, it just suddenly ran... it seemed very scared." The Human Race boy gasped, cautiously looking around.
AYue, the Human Race girl, was the most observant. She walked to where the Black-Scaled Leopard had stiffened, squatted down, and carefully examined the ground and air, her delicate brows slightly furrowed:
"There are no traces of external force, nor any residual aura of powerful Vicious Beasts or Cultivators... It's like it suddenly got scared and ran away on its own, how strange."
Just then, AMan suddenly pointed to the nearby stone wall and shouted, "Look, there's light there!"
Beneath the stone wall that AMan had been thrown against, some moss and gravel had fallen off due to the impact, revealing a narrow cave entrance. A faint, warm jade-green light subtly emanated from within the cave, accompanied by a delicate fragrance.
The three exchanged glances, their curiosity overcoming their fear and injuries.
They carefully pushed aside the gravel and squeezed into the cave entrance, which was just wide enough for one person to pass through.
Inside the cave was another world, a small natural stone chamber.
In the center of the stone chamber was a small stone depression, accumulating a shallow pool of jade-green liquid, from which the fragrance emanated.
Above the stone depression, stalactites dripped Spiritual Liquid, falling precisely into the pool.
Beside the stone depression, three peculiar small plants grew: one fiery red, one intertwined black and white, and one vibrant green, each emitting different Spiritual Qi fluctuations.
"This is... Spiritual Liquid! And Precious Medicine!" AMan exclaimed in surprise. Though he was simple and honest, his instinctive perception of natural treasures was very strong.
"Be careful, there might be a guardian beast," AYue cautiously said, but after observing for a moment, she found no other signs of life in the stone chamber.
"Could the Black-Scaled Leopard's sudden escape be related to this cave? Did the aura from inside the cave scare it away?" the Human Race boy speculated.
AYue nodded: "Possibly. Anyway, let's treat our wounds first. AMan, your shoulder is still bleeding."
She walked to the pool of jade-green Spiritual Liquid, cupped a little in her hand, and carefully applied it to AMan's wound.
Upon contact with the wound, the bleeding immediately stopped, and the wound began to heal and scab over at a visible rate, with astonishing effect.
The three were both surprised and delighted. They each drank a small mouthful of the Spiritual Liquid, and immediately felt a warmth spread through their bodies, their fatigue vanishing, and their Sea of Wheels Secret Realm Cultivation even showed faint signs of loosening.
