294: Chapter 294 Reminiscing, Things That Happened Over the Years
Warm tears slid down from the corners of her eyes.
Two hundred thousand years.
Finally...
Feng Xi stood to the side, her eyes widening as she witnessed this scene.
Then she covered her mouth and smiled happily, her eyes curving into crescent moons.
Aunt and the Heavenly Emperor have finally found their happy ending.
Little War Emperor and Chu Changge were also stunned, looking at each other in surprise.
Long Hao's dragon tail swished back and forth as he winked at Battle Saint Venerable.
Battle Saint Venerable grinned, his smile full of "I knew it" smugness.
Ancient God Child nodded slightly, as if saying it should have happened long ago.
Sword Demon remained expressionless, but the corners of his mouth seemed to lift slightly.
After a long while, Feng Wu gently pushed Jiang Hao away.
She lowered her head and wiped her tears with the back of her hand, her movements a bit flustered.
"I..." she began, her voice still sounding nasal, "I wasn't crying."
Jiang Hao smiled, raising his hand to gently wipe away the tear stains from the corners of her eyes.
"Mm, you weren't crying."
She was as lovely as ever.
Feng Wu looked up, her eyes still red, but the smile within them was brighter than ever.
"It's been two hundred thousand years," she said softly. "I thought..."
"Thought what?"
"Thought you had long since forgotten me."
Jiang Hao shook his head, looking at her earnestly:
"I have always remembered."
"From the first moment I saw you, I have always remembered, and I will never forget."
Feng Wu's tears were about to fall again.
But she smiled, desperately holding them back.
"Alright, alright!" Feng Xi finally couldn't help but jump out. "Aunt, don't cry anymore. If you keep crying, I'm going to cry too!"
She ran over, gave Feng Wu a big hug, and then winked at Jiang Hao: "Great Emperor, you have to treat my aunt well; she waited for you for two hundred thousand years!"
Jiang Hao smiled and reached out to pat Feng Xi's head.
"Okay."
Feng Wu glared at her niece, but her gaze was full of doting affection.
Long Hao leaned in with a mischievous grin: "Oh my, oh my, should we step away for a bit? This atmosphere isn't quite right for us outsiders."
Battle Saint Venerable slapped him: "What outsiders? We're all good brothers."
He looked at Jiang Hao and grinned: "Old Jiang, not bad. It's been two hundred thousand years, and you've finally seen the light. Congratulations, congratulations."
Jiang Hao and Feng Wu had feelings for each other; as close friends, they naturally knew this.
Jiang Hao smiled and said nothing, just looking at Feng Wu.
Feng Wu also looked at him.
Their gazes met, tender as water, with everything understood in silence.
...
In Lingxiao Palace, everyone took their seats. Jiang Hao flicked his sleeve, and a set of simple, ancient tea sets appeared on the jade table.
Clear spring water arose naturally in the pot, warmed by the Dao fire beneath the stove. A few leaves of enlightenment tea fell into the pot, and a refreshing fragrance immediately filled the air.
"enlightenment tea!" Long Hao's eyes lit up. "Old Jiang, only by following you can one enjoy such good things."
Battle Saint Venerable had already unceremoniously picked up a teacup, taking a deep sniff with a look of pure intoxication: "Fragrant, truly fragrant. Having sealed myself for so many years, I've been craving this one sip."
Feng Wu took the teacup and took a light sip. As the enlightenment tea entered her stomach, a gentle dao rhyme spread through her body, making her spirit feel refreshed.
"Good tea," she said softly.
Everyone chatted while drinking tea.
"Old Jiang, this Heavenly Court of yours is a bit too much, isn't it?" Long Hao spoke first, his dragon tail swishing.
"I just walked all the way here and saw those palaces and pavilions; they're all various powerful structures? Where did you get so many good things?"
Jiang Hao smiled upon hearing this: "Many were gifted by the Forbidden Zones."
"Gifted by the Forbidden Zones?" Long Hao's eyes widened. "Would those Forbidden Zone Supreme Beings be so easy to talk to?"
"Of course," Jiang Hao said nonchalantly, picking up his teacup.
"Building the Heavenly Court is everyone's business, and that naturally includes the Forbidden Zone Supreme Beings. They are very reasonable. I just went to talk to them, and they volunteered to contribute."
Hearing this, everyone looked at each other in disbelief.
The Forbidden Zone Supreme Beings are reasonable? Since when have they been associated with being reasonable?
Those people were all cold, heartless, and unreasonable ruthless characters.
"Uncle Jiang, by 'volunteered,' you don't mean they volunteered after being beaten up by you, do you?" Feng Xi looked at Jiang Hao with a face full of suspicion and asked.
"Yes, it must be like that. Otherwise, with those stingy Forbidden Zone Supreme Beings, would they volunteer? Don't even think about it," Long Hao and the others chimed in.
Jiang Hao took a sip of tea. "Something like that."
Had he beaten the Forbidden Zones when he went to solicit donations for the Heavenly Court? No, but he had beaten them before that, so did that count?
Long Hao slapped his thigh upon hearing this: "I knew it. Old Jiang, how many times did you beat the Forbidden Zones to train them to be so obedient?"
Jiang Hao thought for a moment: "Not many times. Just whenever someone caused trouble, I'd give them a beating. Eventually, they became well-behaved."
Everyone: "..."
This method was very Jiang Hao.
"Old Jiang, hurry up and tell us what other big things you've done all these years? Let us broaden our horizons," Battle Saint Venerable said with a look of anticipation.
Little War Emperor also leaned in, looking expectant: "Yeah, Uncle Jiang, tell us quickly!"
Feng Xi nodded vigorously: "Yes, yes, yes, we all want to know!"
Jiang Hao looked at his old friends, smiled, and began to recount his experiences over the past two hundred thousand years.
"After establishing the Heavenly Court, Heavenly Venerable Lingbao and Yuanshi were resurrected. I joined forces with the two Heavenly Venerables, Lingbao and Yuanshi, to open the ascension passage, connecting to a large world called the Lesser Immortal Realm."
"Lesser Immortal Realm?" Feng Wu frowned slightly. "What kind of place is that?"
"Another large world outside the Origin Realm. It shares the same origin as us, both being fragments of the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm," Jiang Hao explained.
"The Laws there are more complete, and longevity matter is more abundant. It's more suitable for Dao Provers to continue their cultivation and live longer."
Everyone gasped.
Outside the Origin Realm, there's another large world? And it's rich in longevity matter? Such a good place exists?
"Then... has anyone gone there?" Long Hao asked.
"Naturally," Jiang Hao nodded.
"Great Emperor Qiankun Xiao Fan, Kylin Great Emperor Qi Xuan, the Demon Emperor, Heavenly Horse Saint Emperor, Great Emperor Qianyuan, Heavenly Venerable Longgu, the Great Emperor of Creation... they all went."
Everyone was a bit dazed upon hearing this.
They looked at each other, their faces filled with confusion.
Battle Saint Venerable scratched his head, messing up his golden fur:
"Great Emperor Qiankun Xiao Fan? Kylin Great Emperor Qi Xuan? Demon Emperor? Heavenly Horse Saint Emperor? Great Emperor Qianyuan? Great Emperor of Creation?..."
He recited them all in one breath and was even more confused after finishing.
"Who are all these people?"
Long Hao was also stunned: "Except for Heavenly Venerable Longgu, who is an Old Ancestor from my Dragon Clan's Mythological Era, I haven't heard of any of the others. But judging by their titles, they are all figures who proved the Dao in this era."
"Nonsense." Battle Saint Venerable rolled his eyes. "Can someone called a Great Emperor not be a person who proved the Dao?"
A look of contemplation flashed in Luo Hongchen's eyes:
"In other words, after we sealed ourselves, so many more Great Emperors appeared. I didn't expect that upon waking up again, the world would have changed so much and there would be so many new Dao Provers."
Everyone fell silent.
In these two hundred thousand years, many more people had proved the Dao than they had imagined.
Long Hao suddenly remembered something, his tail perking up: "Right, that means my Dragon Clan's Old Ancestor, Heavenly Venerable Longgu, has also ascended to the Lesser Immortal Realm."
He chuckled, looking smug: "My Dragon Clan's Old Ancestor is truly impressive, being able to live until now and even ascend."
Battle Saint Venerable glanced at him: "It's not you who ascended, why are you so excited?"
"That's my Old Ancestor!" Long Hao said righteously. "He's the Old Ancestor of my Dragon Clan, he represents me. Of course I'm proud."
