269: Are you rushing off to deliver news of your master's death?

The newcomer was none other than Chen Nian.

He was dressed in simple casual clothes, looking no different from a college student out shopping on a weekend.

If he weren't currently hovering in mid-air above the abandoned steel mill, everyone would have likely mistaken him for an ordinary person.

Chen Nian's expression was relaxed and casual as he looked down from his high vantage point at the two groups confronting each other inside the factory building.

His eyes held undisguised contempt and amusement, as if he were watching two nests of ants biting each other.

The members of the Shadow Worship Cult and the Abyss were all momentarily stunned, clearly not expecting someone to appear so abruptly.

However, after a brief moment of shock, Shadow Nightmare, the Vice Cult Leader of the Shadow Worship Cult, was the first to regain his senses.

He had already been suppressed with a belly full of rage from the Abyssal Emissary's reprimand.

Seeing a plain-looking, even somewhat young stranger suddenly barge in and offer mockery,

his previous fear instantly transformed into violent rage.

"Who are you?!" Shadow Nightmare barked sharply, his gaunt body trembling slightly with anger.

His Peak Rank Six Shadow Power surged uncontrollably, forming a distorted shadow behind him.

"How dare you play tricks and speak such arrogant words here?!"

"I think you're tired of living! You learned some amateur levitation Spell from somewhere and dare to act wild before my Shadow Worship Cult?!"

Upon hearing this, the members of the Shadow Worship Cult began to clamor.

"That's right! Catch him!"

"Kill him!"

For a moment, Evil Energy surged and killing intent filled the air.

They didn't dare to challenge the Abyssal Emissary, but facing this "ignorant" young man, they instantly regained their "prestige" as high-level cult members.

However, in stark contrast to the rage of the Shadow Worship Cult members,

the crimson light beneath the hood of the leading Abyssal Emissary flickered violently, and his body under the black robe was actually trembling slightly uncontrollably!

Fear!

A fear originating from the instinct of the Soul instantly gripped his heart, making him almost suffocate!

He couldn't sense any powerful energy leaking from the opponent.

But it was precisely this extreme restraint that made him feel boundless fear!

Beneath that seemingly ordinary body, there seemed to hide a vast and unfathomable Universe.

It couldn't be wrong! It must be him!

The terrifying existence classified as the highest taboo by the entire Abyss, with strict orders to stay away at all costs if encountered!

He never expected that what these fools from the Shadow Worship Cult had provoked was actually a god of slaughter at this level!

This wasn't just startling the snake; this was waking up a sleeping Dragon!

"Shut up! You fools!!" The Abyssal Emissary suddenly let out a sharp mental roar, trying to stop the Shadow Worship Cult's shouting.

But it was too late.

Chen Nian simply gave a contemptuous smile and lightly flicked a finger toward where the Vice Cult Leader of the Shadow Worship Cult, Shadow Nightmare, was located.

*Bang—!*

Only a muffled sound was heard.

Shadow Nightmare, who was still condensing a Shadow Spell, saw his body explode violently.

Countless bits of flesh and blood, mixed with fragments of internal organs, splattered in all directions.

A Peak Rank Six, a powerhouse who was unreachable in the eyes of ordinary supernaturals,

was just like that, under everyone's watchful eyes, "flicked" to death by the opponent's casual movement.

He died silently, died inexplicably, and died extremely cheaply.

Time seemed to stand still at this moment.

Inside the entire abandoned steel mill, one could hear a pin drop.

The anger and ruthlessness on the faces of all the Shadow Worship Cult members instantly vanished.

Replacing them were endless daze, confusion, and a bone-deep icy fear that rapidly spread.

Although the Abyssal Emissaries had a premonition, seeing this eerie and terrifying scene with their own eyes,

the crimson light under their hoods also jumped violently, and they unconsciously took half a step back.

However, Chen Nian would not give them any time to digest the shock or react.

"Is that it?"

His light voice rang out again, breaking the dead silence with undisguised disappointment and mockery.

Chen Nian hovered in mid-air, his gaze lazily sweeping over the people below who were as if under a freezing Spell.

He shook his head and sighed.

That expression was like someone who went to see a blockbuster with high expectations, only to find it was a poorly made, trashy movie.

"Talking so arrogantly, I thought some remarkable fellow had arrived so I could stretch my limbs a bit."

"I didn't expect it to just be a bunch of stinky fish and rotten shrimp huddling together, baring their teeth at each other?"

As soon as these words were spoken, it was like lighting the last fuse of a powder keg.

"Run!!!"

Someone let out a scream, instantly detonating the fear of all the evil cultivators and Demonic Evils present!

What cult honor, what Abyssal mission, what grand descent plan... in the face of absolute power crushing and the threat of death, it all became bullshit!

Survive! Only surviving has meaning!

The remaining Elders and elites of the Shadow Worship Cult, as well as those dozens of Abyssal Emissaries,

no longer cared about anything else and scattered in a frantic flight toward every exit, hole, and even the walls of the steel mill, like a disturbed nest of wasps!

They burst forth with the fastest speed of their lives, burning essence blood and stimulating Evil Energy.

They only wished their parents had given them a few more pairs of wings, only seeking to get a little further away from that demon god hovering in the sky!

"You only think of running now?" Chen Nian chuckled, his laughter carrying the playfulness of a cat catching a mouse, "Don't you think it's too late?"

He still made no large movements, simply raising his right hand casually.

With his index and middle fingers together in a sword-finger gesture, he lightly made a few strokes toward the figures fleeing in panic below.

The movement was elegant, like painting in the air.

*Puchi! Puchi! Puchi!*

In the next moment, the interior of the steel mill instantly turned into a bloody slaughterhouse!

Sharp red silk threads seemed to appear out of thin air,

precisely slashing toward one fleeing figure after another.

Just as a Shadow Worship Cult Elder rushed to a side door, his body abruptly split down the middle, neatly dividing into two halves as his internal organs spilled onto the ground.

Another Elder attempted to use a Shadow Escape Technique to merge into the wall's shadow, but ended up being sliced into upper and lower sections, along with the shadow, by a horizontally sweeping force.

The fleeing elite members of the Shadow Worship Cult were in an even more wretched state.

Some heads soared into the sky without warning, expressions of terror still remaining on their faces.

Some bodies were as if struck by an invisible heavy hammer, suddenly exploding into a mist of blood and shredded meat.

Some were cut into dozens of pieces by crisscrossing forces, like disassembled building blocks.

Not just the evil cultivators of the Shadow Worship Cult, but the Abyssal Demon also died in all sorts of strange ways.

Hard shells were sliced open like paper, distorted tentacles were cut inch by inch, and hideous heads exploded one after another... dark red, dark green, and pitch-black foul blood along with various oddly shaped organs and tissues splattered everywhere.

For a time, flesh and blood flew across the scene, and severed limbs were scattered everywhere.

The thick, nauseating smell of blood and the stench of dissipating Evil Energy filled the air, like a Hell on earth.

Screams? There was almost no time to let them out.

Begging for mercy? In the face of such an absolute power gap, it was meaningless.

Massacre.

This was a one-sided massacre with an efficiency that was hair-raising.

The leading Abyssal Emissary was scared out of his wits, his Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering.

He didn't dare to stay for even a second longer, nor did he dare to look at the wretched state of his companions.

He pushed his entire body's Evil Energy to the limit, turning into a streak of dark red light, rushing toward an Abyssal Teleportation Array in the furthest corner of the factory building!

That was their reserved emergency retreat passage!

Fast! A little faster!

As long as he activated the array, he could escape back to the Abyss's temporary stronghold, where there were more powerful existences presiding!

However, he discovered in despair that the companions around him were decreasing and disappearing at an alarming rate, turning into puffs of blood mist or fragments.

He didn't even have the courage to look back once, only able to desperately sprint toward that life-saving array.

The dark red light of the array was already before his eyes!

A light of wild joy erupted in his eyes, and he reached out a claw covered in scales to activate the array core—

However, just as his fingertips were less than an inch away from the array core,

his vision blurred.

A figure, like a ghost, yet as if he had been standing there all along, appeared silently between him and the array.

The casual clothes were spotless, completely out of place with the surrounding Shura-field-like environment.

Chen Nian lowered his head slightly, looking at the Abyssal Emissary who was frozen in place, hand still stretched out in mid-air, face full of terror and despair.

A plain smile appeared on his face, yet it made the latter feel as if they had fallen into an ice cellar.

"Running so fast, are you rushing to deliver a funeral notice to your master?"

"What do you say to taking me along?"
