339: Cursed Abyss
Amidst this suffocating atmosphere, the Soul fire in the Skeleton Monarch's eye sockets suddenly steadied.
A cold and resolute light flashed in his eyes.
He slowly raised his head and looked at the other three Dominators, his voice raspy yet carrying an unquestionable weight:
"As things stand, there is only one way to temporarily stop him and buy us time."
The Skeleton Monarch's Soul fire stared fixedly in the direction of the Abyss of Curses as he spoke syllable by syllable:
"Immediately mobilize all forces and initiate the 'Abyssal Severance' supreme ritual."
"Sever and banish the Lord of Curses' entire territory!"
As soon as these words were spoken, even the other three Dominators were shocked!
Severing a vast Dominator territory managed for countless ages was entirely different from severing an outpost.
These were two completely different concepts!
That would require consuming an unimaginable amount of Origin energy and touching upon the core Laws of the Abyss!
The amount of Origin consumed would be enough to severely injure any Dominator, or even cause their Realm to drop!
Moreover, a territory that was severed and banished would be lost forever, never to be recovered.
Not to mention, when they severed the Incinerator's territory before, the Lord of Curses—a Dominator proficient in techniques—was present.
They were able to achieve twice the result with half the effort.
Furthermore, with five Dominators exerting their power together, they could share much of the pressure.
Yet now, they were going to sever the Lord of Curses' territory.
Not only were they missing one Dominator's assistance, but the one missing happened to be the one most proficient in techniques!
"This... the price is too high!" The Putrid Dominator's masses of flesh writhed violently.
"Furthermore, there are still a large number of our subordinate forces, resource nodes, and research facilities within the Abyss of Curses..." The Thousand-Illusion Demon Lord also found it hard to accept.
"Foolish!"
The Skeleton Monarch abruptly raised his voice. Although he was weak, that monarchal majesty still caused the hall to tremble.
"Are those dead things and miscellaneous troops more important, or are our own lives more important?"
"Is a temporary loss of Origin more important, or is being picked off one by one by that monster and having our Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering more important?!"
He looked around at the three Dominators, a cold fire burning within his Soul fire:
"Don't forget the fate of the Incinerator and the Abyssal Devourer!"
"Don't forget what happened to this King's outpost!"
"Facing that monster, any hesitation or wishful thinking is a path to death!"
"Severing the territory, though the price is immense, will immediately cut his direct spatial connection to our core area and temporarily banish him to the edge of the endless chaotic Void Realm."
"Time and space are disordered there, and the Laws are shattered. Even for him, it will take time to re-orient himself and return."
The Skeleton Monarch's words were like a heavy hammer striking the heart of every Dominator.
The Lava Troll was silent for a moment before the lava on his body surface hardened: "Let's do it! It's better than waiting for death!"
The Thousand-Illusion Demon Lord's shadows fluctuated for a long time before a sigh finally emerged: "Agreed. Let's begin immediately."
The Putrid Dominator also responded dully: "Seconded..."
Despite their hearts being filled with resentment toward the Lord of Curses and feeling the sting of the immense price they were about to pay,
in the face of survival, everything else seemed no longer important.
"Lord of Curses... if you still have any spirit left, you should know it was your own stupidity that harmed everyone!"
The Skeleton Monarch took one last look at that empty throne, a cold light flashing in his Soul fire.
Immediately, he turned to the many high-ranking Demonic Evils and Abyssal Commanders waiting in the hall and barked an order:
"Pass down the joint decree of this King and the three Dominators! Effective immediately, initiate the 'Abyssal Severance' supreme ritual!"
"Target—the entire territory of the Abyss of Curses!"
"Activate all Abyssal nodes simultaneously; open all energy pools."
"All Abyssal Commanders and those above, proceed immediately to the designated spatial coordinates, pour in your Origin, and construct the severance Magic Formation!"
"Fast! Complete the severance before that monster completely breaks through the core barrier of the Abyss of Curses!"
The order was like a clap of thunder, exploding throughout the core area of the Gloomy Abyss.
Countless powerful auras were startled awake from their slumber.
With suspicion and unease, they frantically surged toward the designated spatial nodes.
Vast energy began to converge, and the Laws of the Abyss were forcibly pried.
The entire plane began to tremble slightly.
A cruel act of cutting off one's tail to survive—sacrificing a companion's territory and damaging their own Foundation—
was hastily unfolded amidst extreme panic and resolution... Meanwhile, in the Abyss of Curses.
Passing through that unstable spatial gate, Chen Nian led the Lord of Curses with a golden silk thread.
He stepped into the true core territory of the Lord of Curses.
The scene here was even more bizarre and uncomfortable than the Soul Burial Valley altar on the periphery.
The sky was an eternal dark purple, with cursed cloud layers flowing like thick asphalt.
From time to time, distorted Soul shadows hung down like waterfalls, letting out silent wails.
The ground was not soil, but some kind of semi-solid, constantly writhing and proliferating dark red flesh tissue.
What permeated the air was not just the aura of curses, but also a denser, despairing scent of Soul decay.
If an ordinary being stayed here for even a moment, their mind would likely collapse and their Soul would rot.
This place was the manifestation of the Law of Curses, a collection of negative emotions, and a breeding ground for despair.
At this moment, tens of thousands of Abyssal Demonic Evils stood densely packed all around!
They were of various forms and auras, ranging from the third and fourth ranks to the fifth and sixth ranks.
When Chen Nian emerged from the spatial light gate, leading the Lord of Curses and strolling as if walking a dog,
the entire core territory region instantly fell into a deathly silence.
The gazes of all the Demonic Evils fell upon their figures in unison.
This scene was like the most absurd and terrifying nightmare.
It violently shattered the understanding of all the Demonic Evils.
"No... impossible..."
"Your... Your Majesty?!"
"His Majesty, the Lord of Curses has... been taken prisoner?"
"How is this possible? Just what kind of sacred being is this?!"
For a moment, cries of alarm, questioning, angry roars, and fearful wails... all sorts of sounds mixed together, sweeping through the entire space like a tsunami.
The expressions on the Demonic Evils' faces quickly shifted from their initial blankness
to shock, bewilderment, anger, and a fear that reached into the depths of their bones.
However, Chen Nian acted as if he didn't see the vast army of curses before him.
Nor did he feel the nearly tangible panic and hostility.
His expression was indifferent, and his posture relaxed.
He looked less like someone who had broken into an Abyssal territory and more like he was on a leisurely trip.
He looked around and merely said playfully:
"Oh, everyone's here. Is this a welcoming ceremony?"
