133: Chapter 133 The End of the Demon

The door was pushed open silently.

A nauseating scent, a mix of high-end cigars, cheap alcohol, and a faint hint of blood, wafted toward him.

The room was luxurious.

The thick Persian carpet muffled all sound.

On the massive Simmons bed, a short, stout figure lay sprawled out, snoring heavily like a beast.

Tani Hisao.

Chen Xi's gaze fell calmly upon him.

(The smell of alcohol, cigars, and... blood.)

His heart remained as still as water.

Like a true ghost, he approached the large bed step by step, without a sound.

Murderous intent.

A tangible murderous intent radiated from Chen Xi.

It was the purest form of killing intent, born from a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, emanating from his very bones.

The snoring on the bed stopped abruptly.

Even in deep sleep, Tani Hisao's beast-like intuition allowed him to sense a lethal danger.

He snapped his eyes open.

In those murky eyes, there was not a hint of sleepiness, only terror and brutality.

He couldn't even clearly see who had entered.

His bodily instincts drove him to roll up, his right hand reaching toward the nightstand like a lightning bolt.

There sat a loaded Nambu Type 14 pistol.

But he was fast.

Chen Xi was faster.

An afterimage flashed.

"Bang!"

With a precise kick, Chen Xi struck Tani Hisao's wrist.

The crisp sound of bone snapping was exceptionally piercing in the silent room.

The pistol flew high, tracing an arc through the air before crashing into a distant corner.

"Ah!"

The intense pain forced a shrill scream from Tani Hisao.

Yet, he truly was a butcher who had crawled out of a sea of blood.

Without a moment's hesitation, he drew the Officer's sword by the bed with his left hand and slashed wildly toward Chen Xi.

Chen Xi did not dodge.

He moved in close, meeting the flash of the blade head-on.

He grabbed Tani Hisao's wrist that held the sword.

Then, he gave it a forceful twist.

"Crack!"

There was another crisp sound of bone shattering.

Tani Hisao's left arm twisted backward at a bizarre angle.

The Officer's sword fell onto the carpet with a clang.

Chen Xi kicked him in the knee.

Tani Hisao's bulky frame crashed to its knees.

Immediately after, Chen Xi's knee slammed hard into the center of his back.

"Pfft!"

Tani Hisao spat out a mouthful of blood, pinned to the cold floor like a pile of mud, unable to move.

Absolute, overwhelming suppression.

From the moment Tani Hisao woke up to being completely subdued, the entire process took no more than three seconds.

After a brief silence, the bullet chat in the Livestream room exploded.

[Holy shit! Master Xi is incredible!]

[This is a fucking Soldier King! This is the true power of a Special forces soldier!]

[So cool! So satisfying! Kill him for me!]

Chen Xi ignored the clamor in the Livestream room.

He slowly crouched down and leaned into Tani Hisao's ear.

He didn't kill him immediately.

He wanted this demon to meet his end while fully conscious and in a state of absolute terror.

In a cold, emotionless, standard Tokyo accent, he began his sentencing.

"Tani Hisao, Lieutenant General of the Army, Division Commander of the Sixth Division."

Hearing the pure Japanese, Tani Hisao's body shuddered violently.

"Who are you?!"

He roared.

"Who the hell are you?!"

Chen Xi did not answer.

He simply continued his statement calmly.

"On December 13th, the 12th year of the Showa era, you ordered the closure of all exits from Nanjing, turning this city into a massive slaughterhouse."

Tani Hisao's pupils constricted suddenly.

"You... how could you..."

"On December 15th of the same year, you condoned your subordinates, Mukai Toshiaki and Noda Tsuyoshi, in their '100-man killing contest,' calling it the 'valor of the Imperial Army'."

Tani Hisao began to struggle violently, his eyes filled with terror.

"No... it wasn't like that..."

"On December 18th of the same year, you personally led your troops to force their way into the International Safety Zone, taking away thousands of prisoners of war and young men who had laid down their arms, and ordered them all to be executed."

As Chen Xi spoke these words, Tani Hisao's struggling ceased.

In its place was a bone-chilling fear from the depths of his soul.

He finally understood that the mysterious man before him wasn't there for money, nor for simple revenge.

He was a judge.

A judge from hell who knew all of his sins.

"No! Don't kill me! Please!"

The butcher who had killed countless people completely broke down at this moment.

Tears and snot streamed down his face as he began to beg for mercy incoherently.

"I can give you money! Lots and lots of money! I can even give you an official position! Just let me go..."

Chen Xi listened calmly.

His face showed no expression.

Not until Tani Hisao's voice turned hoarse from fear and lack of oxygen.

Only then did he slowly speak the final verdict.

"In the name of the three hundred thousand lost souls of Nanjing."

"I sentence you."

"To death."

The words fell.

Chen Xi stood up.

He picked up the Officer's sword from the floor.

It was a trophy he had seized from the captain of the "Hound" squad.

It was only fitting to end it all with a butcher's knife stained with the blood of the Chinese people.

He slowly unsheathed the blade.

The snowy-bright edge of the blade reflected a cold, grim light in the dim surroundings.

On the floor, Tani Hisao watched the slowly rising blade, his eyes filled with infinite despair.

He wanted to scream, but no sound would come out.

A warm dampness spread across his crotch.

A foul stench began to fill the room.

Chen Xi's gaze did not waver in the slightest.

His hand rose.

The blade fell.

A plump head, its expression frozen in terror, rolled onto the thick carpet.

Blood sprayed like a fountain, staining the entire wall red.

(Is it over?)

Chen Xi looked at the headless corpse, his heart feeling hollow.

The expected ecstasy and relief did not arrive.

There was only a massive, cold void.

(No.)

(It's not enough.)

This was merely the beginning.
