4: This sickle can cut through iron like mud!

Ding.

There was no soul-stirring clash of metal as expected.

There wasn't even a decent sound.

The rusty sickle and the glinting bayonet met lightly just like that.

Emitting a... crisp, insignificant sound, like a chopstick tapping the rim of a bowl.

At this moment, time seemed to have been frozen by a binding spell.

One second.

Two seconds.

The lunging Japanese Soldier's hideous grin had yet to fade.

He maintained his forward-charging posture, but a hint of confusion appeared in his eyes.

He felt as if he had missed.

But the type 38 rifle in his hand had clearly transmitted the sensation of a collision.

He subconsciously looked down.

Then, his pupils dilated to the extreme in an instant.

He saw that the rifle in his hand, from the middle of the barrel along with the Triangular Bayonet, had been split in two by a silent black line thinner than a strand of hair.

The upper half, having lost its support, was slowly sliding off to one side.

The cut.

The cut sliced by the sickle was as smooth as a mirror, even clearly reflecting his own face filled with horror and incomprehension.

It was as if the gun hadn't been cut, but rather had been made of two spliced pieces when it left the factory.

Three parties were stunned.

The Japanese Soldier holding the rifle was dazed. He couldn't understand why the Empire's finest weapon was more fragile than a piece of tofu.

Chen Xi, who was parrying, was also stunned. He had been prepared for his thumb web to tear and his arm to be shattered. He had even thought that even if he died, he would use this broken sickle to leave a gash on the opponent's face. But he never expected such a result.

This isn't scientific.

This isn't magical.

This is fucking seeing a ghost!

And at this moment, in Chen Xi's livestream room, the millions of viewers who had witnessed all this through a first-person perspective fell into a three-second-long, deathly silence.

The screen full of panic and "R.I.P."s was instantly wiped away as if by an invisible giant hand.

The screen was completely empty.

Everyone forgot to breathe, forgot to think, just staring blankly at the rifle that was slowly separating.

Three seconds later.

"Clang."

The upper half of the barrel fell to the ground, making a crisp sound.

This crisp sound was like a switch, instantly detonating the entire livestream room.

【...】

【????????????】

【Was I... seeing things just now?】

【The gun... broke? Just... like that?】

【It's fake, right! This is definitely special effects! Pre-rendered CG! Right! Tell me it's fake!】

【If this is special effects, I'll eat this computer screen on the spot! What the hell is this black technology?! A High-Frequency Vibration Particle Blade?!】

On the battlefield, there was no time for shock.

In the tenth of a second that the Japanese Soldier looked down in a daze.

Chen Xi's body reacted faster than his brain.

It was a combat instinct belonging to a Soldier King, tempered on the edge of life and death countless times!

His wrist holding the sickle twisted sharply, his elbow sinking with the momentum, driving the power of his entire body to slash the cicada-wing-thin sickle horizontally!

The movement was simple, direct, and without any flourishes.

Fast as lightning!

"Puff."

Another barely audible light sound.

Like a blade slicing through a piece of damp kraft paper.

The matchlessly sharp sickle met no decent resistance. It easily sliced through the opponent's uniform, severed ribs, shredded internal organs, and then exited through the other side.

The Japanese Soldier didn't even feel pain.

He just looked down, looking at his abdomen in disbelief, at that thin line of blood.

He opened his mouth to say something, but all that gushed out were large amounts of blood and organ fragments.

His eyes dimmed rapidly.

Life appeared so fragile in the face of absolute sharpness.

"Baka!"

It wasn't until his companion's body slumped down that another Japanese Soldier flanking them reacted from the shock.

He let out a beast-like roar and charged at Chen Xi with his rifle leveled.

Chen Xi did not retreat.

He didn't even glance at the corpse on the ground.

He just lowered his head, staring intently at the sickle in his hand.

The rusty blade was now slowly dripping warm blood.

The blood droplets flowed down along those ridiculous nicks on the edge, then dripped onto the ground, splashing into a small blood flower.

His worldview suffered an unprecedentedly violent shock at this moment.

A crazy thought surfaced uncontrollably in his mind.

This sickle... it seems, it really isn't meant for weeding.
