209: An era without saints!? (Part 8)

The moment Gu Yun's tender little hand touched the cold surface of the stone tablet.

The entire world fell into instant, absolute silence.

The gray, hazy world before his eyes, those rugged black mountain rocks, all dissipated like ink dropped into water, rapidly blurring and fading until they finally turned into pure nothingness.

His Divine Soul was forcibly stripped and pulled from his young body by an irresistible, primordial force.

It was as if an invisible giant hand had grabbed him and thrown him into the upstream of the endless river of time.

He was pulled into a much older, much more desolate scene.

This was the end of a road.

An Ancient Starry Road paved with countless shattered stars.

At the end of the road, a man dressed in simple cloth clothes stood quietly, his back turned to him.

His figure was not tall, yet it gave one the illusion that he had merged into one with the entire Universe.

It was as if he were the center of this world, unchanging through eternity.

Behind him lay a true mountain of corpses and sea of blood, a graveyard of the Universe.

There were remains of ancient beasts as huge as stars; even after dying for billions of years, their bones still exuded an unyielding, ferocious might.

There were wings of divine birds burning with undying divine fire; the lingering heat of those flames seemed capable of incinerating space-time.

There were even more corpses of experts, whose forms could not be clearly discerned, exuding terrifying auras as they lay quietly on the Ancient Starry Road.

Every single corpse must have been a supreme existence that once shook a region of the Universe while alive.

And now, they had all become nothing more than inconspicuous stepping stones on this road.

The man in cloth clothes slowly raised his hand.

He was about to touch something in front of him.

It was a brand, an unspeakable mark that seemed to have condensed from the Origin of myriad Dao of the Universe.

It exuded a supreme aura that made Gu Yun's Soul tremble.

It seemed that as long as one obtained it, one could become the Dominator of everything in this world.

However, the mark seemed to resist the man in cloth clothes, emitting a strong repulsive force that caused the surrounding star fragments to tremble.

The man in cloth clothes, whose eyes had been slightly narrowed, slowly opened them at this moment.

Boom!

In Gu Yun's "vision," those were not just a pair of eyes.

They were two Chaos Universes in the midst of creation!

Within the pupils, there were no suns, moons, or stars, no flowing runes.

There was only the most primitive, most fundamental "Dao," evolving, birthing, and dying on its own.

Chaos Double Pupils!

The instant these eyes opened, the entire Ancient Starry Road submitted to them.

That supreme mark, which had been resisting him, instantly dimmed its light; as if a subject meeting its king, it withdrew all its radiance and began to acknowledge his existence.

A trace of a satisfied smile appeared on the face of the man in cloth clothes.

He began to gradually refine that mark.

However, right at this moment.

An untimely voice abruptly resounded through this dead, silent Universe.

The voice carried a kind of dreamlike madness, and even more, a monstrous hatred capable of freezing the Soul.

"I ask you, from where did you obtain these Double Pupils?!"

The man in cloth clothes frowned slightly but ignored it, his focus entirely on refining the mark.

The next moment, the owner of the voice appeared.

It was a madman carrying a sword.

He was ragged and disheveled, but his eyes burned with an incomparably sharp Sword Intent.

Without a word, he brandished his sword and fiercely attacked the man in cloth clothes.

As the sword light rose, the Dao wailed.

"Where did this madman come from."

The man in cloth clothes snorted coldly, freed one hand, and pointed a finger casually at the frenzied swordsman.

The battle erupted instantly.

It was a battle that Gu Yun could not comprehend at all.

The two fought from one ancient star to another; wherever they passed, rivers of stars were severed, and space-time fell into Chaos.

Every strike of theirs contained terrifying power that transcended the Saint Rank.

Huge, dead stars were shattered as easily as bubbles in their exchange, turning into the dust of the Universe.

The subsequent scenes became incomparably chaotic.

It seemed that even this stone tablet, which carried the memory, could not withstand the aftermath of such a level of battle, and the recording became fragmented.

Finally, the scene completely dissipated amidst the collision of two extreme powers.

Gu Yun's Divine Soul returned to his own Sea of Consciousness.

But he had not yet recovered from that world-destroying battle.

Hum!

That primordial will from the stone tablet followed his Divine Soul and surged into his Sea of Consciousness.

It seemed to want to occupy this perfect body, which possessed the Primordial Chaos Sacred Body and the Seven-Aperture Exquisite Heart, and turn it into its own vessel.

However, the moment the stone tablet's will was about to succeed.

In the deepest part of Gu Yun's Sea of Consciousness, that simple, ancient little tower, which even he himself had never noticed, awakened.

It vibrated violently, exuding an even more domineering, even more supreme aura.

It was as if it were the source of everything in this world, the monarch of all things.

It did not allow any foreign will to touch its territory.

It wanted to devour this will of the stone tablet!

One was primordial, supreme, a Dao rhyme that seemed to have witnessed the birth and death of the Universe.

The other was a hegemon's will that reigned over the world, devouring everything, supreme and unique.

Two completely different, yet equally terrifying powers unfolded a fierce confrontation in Gu Yun's small Sea of Consciousness.

Terrifying pressure descended instantly.

Under this pressure, Gu Yun's Divine Soul let out a groan, unable to bear the burden.

That layer of "mystery of the womb" that enveloped his true spirit and had existed since birth appeared a crack under this unimaginable impact.

Following that, the crack spread rapidly.

Boom!

The sealed memories surged in with a roar.

He saw a young man in white named "Jun Yun" on the Fifth Ancient Star who, in order to protect his brother named "You Chen," severed his own Karma and finally burned his life away, passing away with a smile.

He saw a frail child named "Quan Yun" in a dilapidated courtyard who, in order to protect the girl named "Sister Yu," threw a million punches and thrust a million swords, just to seek a glimmer of survival.

Countless lifetimes of Reincarnation, countless loves and hates, countless times of unwillingness and obsession, were completely fused at this moment.

Gu Yun, no, it was Jun Yun.

He had returned.

The moment the memories were completely fused, Gu Yun's chaotic consciousness regained unprecedented clarity.

He opened his eyes abruptly.

That pair of pure eyes, belonging to a six-year-old child, flashed with a trace of vicissitudes not belonging to this age the moment they opened.

Inside the Sea of Consciousness, those two terrifying, confronting powers seemed to have temporarily ceased due to his awakening, each returning to silence.

Gu Yun came back to his senses.

He discovered that the huge stone tablet had become only the size of a palm, quietly floating in his palm.

On the stone tablet, that primordial will had fallen silent, as if waiting for his command.

Before Jun Yun could make another move.

A voice abruptly resounded in this dead, silent Holy Land.

"Little Brother, can you give this stone tablet to me, your big brother?"
