635: Chapter 625 Imperial Tutor (The End)

With every step Qin Yun took forward, the Qi flowing beneath his feet was different from that of the Nine Continents.

There, there was no familiar Origin of the Nine Continents, no echoes left by the nine books and Nine Treasures, nor the cold aura from when the Azure Lotus suppressed the Heavenly Abyss.

There was only an ancient road.

The road was very wide, yet severely dilapidated.

In some places, it was severed, with only a few stone slabs suspended in the Void Realm remaining.

In other places, remnants of old carvings could still be seen, but they had long been worn smooth by the passage of time, leaving only rough pits and hollows.

Qin Yun lowered his head and glanced at his feet.

There were cracks on the stone slabs.

Inside the cracks, there was no dust, only a layer of flowing grey light.

This grey light carried the aura of space; it gathered and dispersed, and if one were not careful, it would drag one's ankle inside.

Qin Yun lifted his foot and stepped aside.

He was in no rush to hurry along.

This road led to a higher heaven and earth, and also to the unknown.

The more unknown it was, the less he could afford to be careless.

He walked forward along the ruined road.

There were no sun or moon around him.

Above his head, it was not the sky.

There was only a deep, dark nothingness, occasionally streaked with tiny specks of light, like the afterimages of distant worlds, or perhaps fragments cast off by the road.

Qin Yun raised his hand.

The Void Law spun around his fingertips.

After losing the void book, he had not lost the Dao of Space.

The nine books and Nine Treasures had returned to the Nine Continents, leaving behind the Law.

After walking for a while longer, the road ahead suddenly sank.

It wasn't that the stone slabs were sinking.

It was that the Qi of the entire road had been pressed down by something.

Qin Yun stopped.

Inside the grey fog at the end of the ancient road, something was moving.

A gigantic claw pressed out from the grey fog.

Immediately after, a massive shadow squeezed onto the ancient road.

The moment it appeared, the entire ancient road seemed to narrow.

The path ahead was blocked.

The path behind began to fog up.

Qin Yun looked at it, his brows furrowing slightly.

It lowered its head, locking its gaze directly onto Qin Yun.

The next instant.

It lunged over.

As its massive body pressed over, the Void Realm on both sides of the ancient road was squeezed into ripples.

Qin Yun shifted his feet.

The Void Law unfolded.

His figure blurred on the spot, and the next instant, he appeared ten zhang away.

The giant claw struck down, grazing the spot where he had originally stood.

With a boom.

The stone slabs exploded.

Before the fragments could fly far, they were swallowed by the splitting space.

Qin Yun glanced at it.

If this blow were to land on him, even his current Red Dust Immortal body would not feel too comfortable.

He did not block it head-on.

Nor did he intend to fight for long.

Everything here was unknown.

There was no need to lock horns with a fierce beast blocking the path.

The giant beast lunged a second time.

Qin Yun shifted his figure again.

The Void Law sliced through a layer of space before him, transporting him to the side and behind the giant beast.

The giant beast's claw missed, but it violently swung its tail.

Its tail, resembling a broken stone pillar, swept across, whipping up a large swath of grey wind blades.

Qin Yun raised his hand and pointed.

The space before him was stretched into a thin layer.

The wind blades struck, their trajectory forcibly shifted.

They grazed past Qin Yun's side and slashed into the grey fog in the distance.

Dense, explosive sounds immediately erupted from within the fog.

Seizing this moment, Qin Yun dashed forward.

The giant beast sensed his intention, and its massive body violently shifted sideways, blocking the path ahead once more.

Its Physical Body was too hard.

Ordinary Sword Intent might not be able to break through immediately.

Even if it could break through, it would consume a significant amount of energy.

Qin Yun's gaze calmed down.

The Void Law spread out beneath his feet.

His figure flashed continuously.

The first time, the giant beast's claw almost pressed onto his shoulder.

A mere inch away.

Qin Yun vanished.

The second time, the giant beast opened its massive maw, and grey light erupted from it, sealing off the thirty zhang ahead.

Qin Yun's figure plummeted downwards.

He sliced a vertical slit through space and slipped through it.

The third time, the giant beast stomped down with all four limbs simultaneously.

The space on the ancient road was forcibly compressed.

If it were an ordinary Cultivator, it would be difficult to even move a finger at this moment.

Qin Yun raised two fingers and slashed in front of him.

A thin line was cut into the compressed space.

He, like a thin sheet of paper, slid out through that thin line.

The giant beast lunged three times, all in vain.

Qin Yun had already reached behind it.

The road section ahead reappeared.

Without looking back, he dashed forward.

The giant beast behind him finally let out a low roar.

The moment the roar emerged, the Void Realm on both sides of the ancient road vibrated simultaneously.

Qin Yun glanced back.

The giant beast did not pursue.

But that one roar shook the entire road.

The road surface began to crack.

A crack spread from beneath the giant beast's feet, chasing after Qin Yun along the ancient road.

Spatial turbulence erupted from the crack.

Grey-white beams of light shot into the sky, hacking the dilapidated road surface into pieces.

Qin Yun's expression darkened slightly.

Three stone slabs ahead collapsed simultaneously.

Qin Yun stamped his foot.

The Void Law propelled his figure forward by a hundred zhang.

But a hundred zhang away, the road surface had also cracked.

It was already unstable here.

The giant beast's attacks had merely shaken open all the old wounds.

The ancient road began to collapse on a large scale.

Qin Yun raised his hand, and the Void Law spread out continuously.

A crack slashed in from the left.

He shifted his body to avoid it.

A mass of turbulence erupted from beneath his feet.

He forcibly switched his position.

The Void Realm ahead twisted into a vortex, attempting to drag him in.

Qin Yun pressed down with one palm, temporarily flattening that area of space.

He stepped across.

Just barely.

Another spatial blade sliced in from behind.

He tilted his head to avoid it, but a few strands of his hair were cut off; they fell into the turbulence and vanished instantly.

Qin Yun no longer distracted himself by speaking.

The Void Law was indeed useful.

Slicing space, switching positions, avoiding killing intent—they were all top-tier methods.

But what was collapsing now was not just one stone slab, nor just one point in the Void Realm.

It was a section of the entire ancient road.

He could protect himself.

But he could not stabilize this road.

Ahead, at the end of the ruined road, a relatively stable band of light appeared.

As long as he passed through it, he could temporarily escape this collapsing area.

Qin Yun's gaze sharpened.

His figure flickered repeatedly.

Ten zhang.

Thirty zhang.

Eighty zhang.

Avoiding crack after crack, he passed through the intersections of the turbulence.

The ancient road behind him collapsed into a mess.

The figure of the giant beast had already been blocked by the turbulence.

Only a muffled roar continued to echo in the distance.

Qin Yun was getting closer and closer to that stable band of light.

Only a few steps remained.

His Void Law spun beneath his feet, preparing to pass directly out of the collapsing road section.

Just at this moment, a muffled sound suddenly emanated from the deepest part of the ancient road.

It was not the giant beast.

Nor was it the collapse of the stone slabs.

It was that something inside this road had snapped.

The next instant, a spatial turbulence larger than all the previous cracks rushed out from beneath the band of light ahead.

It had no shape.

Yet it was like an open mouth, swallowing the entire section of the ancient road directly.

Qin Yun's pupils constricted.

The Void Law instantly spread to its limit.

He forcibly twisted the space before him, wanting to pass out from the edge of the turbulence.

It worked.

Half of his body had already crossed beyond the range of the turbulence.

But the next moment, a deeper pull came from beneath his feet.

That force was overbearing.

It was not a simple spatial suction, but rather different levels of space stacked together, turning simultaneously.

Qin Yun raised his hand and pressed down.

The Void Law sliced through the first layer.

The second layer.

The third layer.

By the fourth layer, the entire turbulence suddenly closed in.

Boom.

Qin Yun was dragged into it.

The ancient road vanished.

The giant beast vanished.

The band of light ahead also vanished.

All that remained around him were light and shadows in extreme chaos.

The node shattered.

Qin Yun cast the Void Law again.

This time, he did not think about passing out; he only wanted to stabilize himself.

The space around him was forcibly pulled by him into a small circle.

Those images flashed by and vanished.

Too fast to distinguish.

Qin Yun gritted his teeth, the nine Laws rotating within his body.

The Void Law protected his body.

The Body Law stabilized his Physical Body.

The Life Law repaired his torn flesh.

The Death Law suppressed the turbulent Death Qi invading his body.

The Time Law briefly slowed the external rotation.

The Fate Law locked onto his own lifeline.

The Dao Law smoothed out the out-of-control Law.

The Luck Law pulled out a single point of landing.

The Treasure Law protected the azure pagoda.

The nine Laws lit up together, finally allowing him to stabilize for half a breath within the turbulence.

Just half a breath.

Enough.

Qin Yun seized that faint glimmer of life pulled out by the Luck Law and forcibly tore open a gap with the Void Law.

"Get out."

He took a step out.

The turbulence exploded violently.

The next instant, the heaven and earth inverted.

Qin Yun fell from high altitude.

With a boom.

The earth was smashed into a deep pit.

Dust shot up more than ten zhang high.

The surrounding forests were bent by the airwave, birds and beasts scattered in panic, and a few frantic cries echoed from the distance.

At the bottom of the pit.

Qin Yun lay there for a moment.

It was not that he couldn't get up.

It was that he needed to confirm whether he was still on that ancient road.

Soon, he opened his eyes.

Above his head was the sky.

But it was not the sky of the Nine Continents.

The sky was tinted with a faint reddish-gold, and the clouds were very low, as if pressing down on the mountain ridges.

The Spiritual Qi in the air was thick, coarse, and carried a wild, primitive aura.

The Qi deep within the earth was also different.

Heavier.

Wilder.

It was as if this heaven and earth had not yet been combed by too many Orthodoxy, and it carried a primitive aura everywhere.

Qin Yun propped himself up from the ground and sat up.

He pinched a bit of soil between his fingertips.

There was spirituality in the soil, but it was not docile.

He looked up towards the distance.

The mountains and rivers were vast and desolate.

Giant trees towered into the sky.

Mountain peaks stood like the spines of ancient beasts, lying across the end of heaven and earth.

Further away, a massive shadow swept past from beneath the clouds, the shadow it cast covering half the forest.

Qin Yun brushed the dust off his sleeves and slowly stood up.

The azure pagoda was still there.

The nine Laws were still there.

The Red Dust Immortal Dao Fruit was also still stable.

It was just that the road was gone.

He had been thrown into a completely unfamiliar place.

Qin Yun gazed at this reddish-gold sky and remained silent for a moment.

Afterwards, he let out a soft sigh.

Qin Yun raised his eyes.

He knew that he was no longer on that original road.

Nor was he in the Nine Continents.

But he was also definitely not in that "Immortal Realm" where You Chen and the others were.

The true unknown had only just begun.
