71: My Godly Father (Part Two)

"Hehehe."

"If I can't deal with you, can't I still deal with your woman and child?!"

The voice of that Heavenly God Realm expert reached Quan Batian's ears, filled with cruel laughter.

He shifted his gaze, locking onto that room filled with the scent of blood.

A fatal beam of light shot out from his hand, tearing through the sky and heading straight for that fragile door.

"No!"

Quan Batian's eyes were about to split open.

He could see that beam of light and feel the terrifying Heavenly God power contained within it, enough to turn everything into dust.

He wanted to move.

He wanted to block it.

But he couldn't.

Surging energy was scouring every one of his Meridians, impacting the barrier of the Heavenly God Realm.

He was like a lonely boat trapped in the eye of a storm; any movement would result in being smashed to pieces.

He could only watch helplessly.

Watching that beam of death pass through the broken courtyard and strike the two most important people in his life.

Just at this critical moment.

Inside the room, the woman who had been hanging by a thread, the woman named Zhuer, seemed to sense something.

Her originally unfocused eyes instantly gathered an astonishing light.

That was the instinct of motherhood, a power that transcended life and death.

"Hum!"

A soft, blood-colored halo erupted from within her, instantly enveloping the entire room.

This light was not blinding, yet it was incredibly firm.

The destructive beam collided with the blood-colored halo.

The blood-colored halo flickered violently and rapidly dimmed.

Zhuer's already pale face now had not a trace of color left.

She was burning.

Burning her already scarce vital blood, burning her own Divine Soul.

Finally, the blood-colored halo extinguished completely.

That destructive beam was also worn away to nothing.

She had protected them.

Protected that child who had just arrived in this world and hadn't even had the chance to look at her once.

But her own life force was rapidly fading.

"Batian..."

Her voice was barely audible.

"Child... child..."

Until the very last moment, what she was thinking of was still her husband and her child.

Quan Batian's world stood still at this moment.

His wife's final call transformed into a heavy hammer, shattering the last shackle within him.

"Ahhhhhhh!"

Roars erupted from his throat.

An aura far more terrifying than before soared into the sky.

Dark clouds gathered, and thunder rumbled.

Heavenly God Realm... Achieved!

However, having achieved the Breakthrough, Quan Batian did not look at the sky, nor did he look at those enemies.

His figure flashed, instantly appearing beside the woman.

"Zhuer... no... don't..."

He knelt on the ground, anxiously reaching out, wanting to grasp his wife's pale hands.

He gripped his wife's hand tightly, refusing to let go, but his own hand was trembling uncontrollably.

Because he felt his wife's life force fading away in an irreversible manner.

"Child... take good care of... our child..."

The woman named Zhuer's hand fell limply.

The light in her eyes dissipated completely.

Quan Batian held his wife's gradually cooling body, his entire being frozen.

Everything around him seemed to have lost its sound.

He slowly, slowly raised his head.

A pair of eyes shifted from red to a bottomless, pitch black.

That was pure, untainted killing intent, without a single trace of Impurities.

He carefully laid his wife down and tidied her messy hair.

Then, he stood up, turned around, and looked at the sky.

"Die."

One word.

His figure disappeared.

The next second, he appeared in front of a True God expert, with just one punch.

That expert's body, along with his Divine Soul, was directly beaten into a mist of blood.

Simple, direct.

The remaining few True God Realm experts were scared to the point of Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering, turning and fleeing.

But they couldn't escape.

Quan Batian's figure was as fast as a ghost, weaving between them.

Every time he flashed, there was a scream.

Every time he paused, a mist of blood exploded.

Before the newly Breakthrough-achieved Quan Batian, these True God Realm experts were simply like clay chickens and pottery dogs, vulnerable to a single blow.

Finally, only that Heavenly God expert remained.

His face was filled with terror, no longer showing any of his previous disdain and arrogance.

He desperately burned his vital blood, unleashed his trump card secret technique, transformed into a stream of light, and in a wretched state, tore through space to flee.

Quan Batian chose not to pursue.

He slowly descended from the sky and returned to that dilapidated room.

He walked to the bedside.

There, a baby wrapped in a blood-colored swaddle was lying quietly.

That was his and Zhuer's child.

The child was already born with an Innate deficiency and had lost the nourishment of his mother's Origin; at this moment, his little face was purple, and his breath was barely discernible.

It looked like he wouldn't survive much longer.

Quan Batian's heart tightened abruptly.

He had just lost his wife; he could not lose this only Bloodline.

Moreover, this child was Zhuer's final thought before she died, and also the last trace Zhuer left in this world.

He reached out, wanting to channel his Divine Power into the baby's body, but his power was too rigid and fierce; the baby's fragile body simply couldn't withstand it.

Anxious and burning with impatience.

"No... don't die..."

A sense of powerlessness enveloped him once again.

Just then, he remembered something.

He looked at the baby in his arms whose breathing was getting weaker and weaker, then looked at the sky, a trace of crazy laughter appearing on his face.

"You bunch of people, don't you want this thing?"

He roared in a low, deep voice.

"Good... good... good!"

He opened his palm.

An ancient, simple little tower appeared out of thin air in his palm.

The little tower was dark and dull, and one couldn't tell what material it was made of. There were no ornate patterns on it, yet it gave one a sense of profound weight, as if it had endured through eternity and suppressed the heavens.

Its appearance caused the surrounding turbulent and chaotic Spiritual Qi to instantly calm down.

This was something he had snatched from a Life Forbidden Zone after a near-death experience.

It was said to be an indescribable, supreme treasure.

"Then come and take it!"

Determination shone in Quan Batian's eyes.

He bit the tip of his tongue and sprayed a mouthful of vital blood onto the little tower.

At the same time, he mobilized his newly broken-through Heavenly God power and, using an incredible secret technique, forcibly struck the little tower toward the baby.

"Pfft!"

Quan Batian's face instantly turned pale; he looked decades older, and his aura withered significantly.

And that little tower, the moment it touched the baby's body, turned into a faint light and merged into his chest.

A light cyan tower-shaped mark appeared on the baby's skin.

A miracle happened.

The baby's nearly severed breath began to recover.

The purple little face gradually returned to a rosy color.

His vital signs gradually stabilized.

"Ying... wu..."

A baby's cry came from within the swaddle.

Quan Batian looked at this scene, a smile finally appearing on his sorrowful face, even though that smile was uglier than crying.

His gaze fell upon that tower-shaped mark.

On the body of the little tower, he saw a faint, ancient character.

"Yun."

Quan Batian reached out a trembling hand and gently stroked that character.

"Yun..."

"Good, good, good."

He muttered to himself.

"Like a cloud, unbound by all things in the world."

He looked at the crying baby in his arms, his eyes filled with endless tenderness and sorrow.

"From now on, you shall be called Quan Yun."
