4: Chapter 4 Bai Shiwei
Fang Zhuo had only been at the entrance of the shop for less than a minute.
"Swoosh~~" The sound of tires screeching violently against the ground rang out as a Shenzhou unmanned taxi pulled up to the curb, and the door opened.
A thin, high-heeled shoe with a red sole and black trim extended out first.
The ankle resting on the shoe was bony and well-defined, the arch of the foot had a graceful curve, and above that was a slender, fair, and delicate calf.
Immediately after, a lithe figure stepped out from the car.
Bai Shiwei was wearing a gray shirt and a floral skirt, making her look youthful and beautiful.
"Is it him?"
Seeing Fang Zhuo at the shop entrance, his clothes and hairstyle obviously carefully groomed, she realized that this was her blind date, as expected.
Bai Shiwei narrowed her beautiful eyes, unabashedly sizing up Fang Zhuo.
Not exactly handsome, but quite masculine.
"Hello, Bai Shiwei?"
Fang Zhuo didn't mind and took the initiative to walk up and greet her.
Bai Shiwei looked even better in person than in her photo; she had an oval face, peach-blossom eyes, and small, thin red lips, and she lacked the sharp, hardened aura of a martial artist, looking more like a female student from a liberal arts university instead.
"Hello."
"I'm not late, am I?"
Bai Shiwei nodded, then extended her hand. After a light handshake with Fang Zhuo, she quickly pulled it back, pretending to glance at her watch casually.
A faint blush appeared on her face, whether from the hot weather or the stuffiness inside the car, it was hard to tell.
"No, it's exactly eight o'clock. Shall we go inside, order some food, and talk?"
Fang Zhuo asked with a smile, and after Bai Shiwei nodded, he walked in front to lead the way, and the two entered the shop one after the other.
The shop was bustling with popularity and almost completely full; with great difficulty, Fang Zhuo and Bai Shiwei finally found an empty table for two in the corner.
After sitting down, Bai Shiwei took the initiative to place the order.
It looked like the waiter seemed to know Bai Shiwei.
Fang Zhuo said with a smile, "Do you come to this shop often?"
"Yes."
Bai Shiwei wore a high ponytail, her bangs parted in the middle, and two strands of hair falling along her ears made her face appear very small.
She took the initiative to explain, "I chose this ramen shop for our meeting because, for one, I'm used to it, and for another, I want to save money."
"Save money?"
Fang Zhuo's mouth opened slightly.
"That's right. I've carefully reviewed your basic information on the Federal System, and I assume you've done the same for me. You should be able to guess that my debt is for martial arts training."
Bai Shiwei was very straightforward, "For this blind date, shall we start by discussing our requirements for each other?"
"Sure, you go first."
Fang Zhuo smiled. This... really had the directness of a martial artist.
Bai Shiwei placed her hands on the table, sat straight, and said without any concealment, "I will be frank with you. After we get our marriage license, I will live well with you, but I have one requirement: you must fully support my martial arts training!"
"If you can't accept that, then forget it. We'll just treat this as making a friend, having a meal together, splitting the bill, and going our separate ways afterward."
She really was straightforward...
This blind date, only a few minutes in, had left a deep impression on Fang Zhuo.
Especially the part about splitting the bill.
In this era, there aren't many women willing to split the bill on a blind date, even among martial artists.
Fang Zhuo placed his hand on the table and looked closely at Bai Shiwei at close range. He wasn't in a hurry to answer, waiting until he saw her eyelashes tremble slightly before saying:
"Fully support your martial arts training... tell me, what does 'fully' entail?"
She wouldn't want him to hand over all his future income, would she?
If that were the case, although Bai Shiwei looked even more pleasing to the eye in person than in her photo... and his initial impression was good, it wasn't like he couldn't live without her.
The system returns were one thing.
But finding a wife wasn't just about system returns and future martial arts training; it was about finding a woman to share life with.
Being easy on the eyes and being easy to get along with were equally important.
Bai Shiwei didn't hesitate, as if she had already thought about how to answer:
"Within five years after marriage, you must fully support my martial arts training within your capabilities and help me awaken my Martial Aspect."
"My expectation is to have over 100,000 in annual training resource support. Regarding the resettlement housing allocated by the Federal System after marriage, my idea is to sell it to support my martial arts training first. Of course, this is not mandatory; you can share your own wishes."
"Miss Bai."
Fang Zhuo frowned slightly; if it weren't for the fact that Bai Shiwei was still using a consultative tone, he would have stopped communicating already.
"If we sell the resettlement housing given by the Federal System, where will we live after we get married?"
"I've thought about this problem. It's simple: we can rent a place to live, or stay with your parents for a while. Once I awaken my Martial Aspect, our lives will improve quickly."
Bai Shiwei's expression didn't change, but when mentioning the Martial Aspect, her beautiful eyes became exceptionally bright.
In this era, the reason the Martial Aspect is important is, first, it can open the acupoints in a martial artist's body, allowing the martial artist to absorb the starry sky origin power to strengthen their physical body.
Second, the Martial Aspect also grants the martial artist various special abilities, such as enhanced cellular activity, greater strength, faster speed, and so on. The strength and differences in effects are related to the grade of the Martial Aspect.
As long as she awakened her Martial Aspect, with her talent, she could definitely become an Advanced Martial Artist, with an annual salary easily exceeding one million!
Bai Shiwei took a deep breath.
"You seem very confident."
Fang Zhuo was somewhat surprised; Bai Shiwei's Life Level was 18.
Based on the conclusion that the higher the Life Level, the lower the probability of awakening a Martial Aspect, and combined with historical data statistics from the Federal System, the probability of Bai Shiwei awakening a Martial Aspect was close to 0.
"I have already visualized the Martial Aspect. It... is beyond imagination, but limited by my mental power, I haven't been able to visualize the full picture yet."
"As long as I continue to invest in martial arts resources, I have a seventy percent chance of awakening it!"
When Bai Shiwei spoke, she clenched her fists, and on her fair, delicate forearms, blue veins faintly appeared.
Fang Zhuo's heart stirred.
This situation with the female Martial Arts Undergraduate student was actually quite similar to his own.
The Martial Aspect he had visualized was equally mysterious; just seeing the tip of the iceberg was enough to drain his mental energy and leave him dizzy.
Theoretically speaking, as long as he continued to train, strengthen his physical body, and enhance his mental power, he would eventually be able to awaken his Martial Aspect.
Fang Zhuo was noncommittal and instead asked:
"You mentioned five years after marriage just now. What if, after five years, you still haven't awakened your Martial Aspect?"
"Five years from now, I'll be twenty-six, past my golden training period. If I really haven't been able to awaken my Martial Aspect, I'll accept my fate. In the future, we'll have a child and raise the child together."
When Bai Shiwei talked about raising a child, her face involuntarily flushed red, but it quickly faded.
She bit her lip, and her beautiful eyes became firm once again.
The Martial Aspect, it must be awakenable!
"Can you accept the conditions I stated?"
Fang Zhuo did not rush to reply, his fingers rhythmically tapping on the table. After this conversation, he had a basic understanding of Bai Shiwei: she wasn't blind, her personality was quite good, and she was dedicated to martial arts without being fanatical.
With the system, she was a highly compatible partner for him.
As for Bai Shiwei's beauty being very much to his liking... that was secondary.
"Sure."
"Really?"
Bai Shiwei leaned forward, her beautiful eyes staring at Fang Zhuo without blinking.
The idea of getting married and borrowing the man's resources to continue her martial arts training wasn't something that had just popped up; it had been there for two months.
The Federal System had assigned her several blind date partners, but each time it ended without result.
The men would change color at the mention of martial arts; upon hearing that they had to support her continued martial arts training, they would make excuses to leave. Occasionally, those who could continue the conversation were just going through the motions, not wanting to make a scene.
Starting from the initial Martial Arts Undergraduate students—who were handsome, wealthy, and had good talent—after consecutive failures, the quality of the blind date partners assigned by the Federal System had declined time and time again.
Unexpectedly, this time, the Martial Arts Junior College student Fang Zhuo was willing to support her.
"Would I lie to you?"
Fang Zhuo smiled.
Upon hearing this, Bai Shiwei pursed her lips and looked down at her fingers.
She hadn't expected it to go so smoothly this time...
A Martial Arts Junior College student—the education level was a bit lower compared to hers, and future income might not be high, not comparable to a Martial Arts Undergraduate, but regardless, being willing to support her now was already very good.
Her family wouldn't support her, so she could only rely on herself!
"Then, do you have any conditions?"
Bai Shiwei calmed down and looked up at Fang Zhuo, "Or rather, what requirements do you have for me? You can say them all."
