155: Chapter 155 The Landlady's "Private Tea"

"Thud—!"

A loud bang, like a heavy hammer hitting the ground, made everyone's heart in the courtyard tremble.

Wang Fugui finally placed the fabric pallet, weighing half a ton, steadily in the center of the courtyard. He released his shoulders, straightened up, and exhaled a long breath of turbid air. That breath even formed a small white mist in the air.

He was drenched as if he'd just been fished out of water; sweat flowed down the lines of his muscles, gathering at his waist and soaking a large patch of his grey trousers. His bronze skin gleamed in the sunlight, emitting a masculine scent so intense it was almost stifling.

The entire place fell into a deathly silence.

Everyone seemed to have been hit by a freezing spell, staring blankly at the "humanoid monster" in the middle of the yard, their minds completely blank.

It took several seconds for someone to react, and a chorus of sharp intakes of breath erupted.

"My goodness..."

"Is this... is this a damn movie?"

"I've worked in this factory for ten years, and it's the first time I've seen anyone carry this thing out!"

Chen Yun was also stunned. She ran to Fugui's side, feeling both distressed and proud. She wanted to reach out and help him wipe his sweat but didn't know where to start.

"Fugui, are you... are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"

"I'm fine." Fugui shook his head and grinned, revealing two rows of big white teeth. "I'm just a bit hungry."

That smile dissipated the terrifying aura around him, and he turned back into that honest Silly Big Guy.

Meanwhile, Zhao Yazhi finally snapped out of her extreme shock. The way she looked at Fugui had completely changed. It was the gaze of a hungry wolf seeing top-tier prey, full of aggression and possessiveness.

She stepped forward in her high heels, swaying her hips, and walked up to Fugui step by step.

"Good, well done." She looked Wang Fugui up and down, her gaze as if she wanted to strip the clothes right off him. "I, Zhao Yazhi, keep my word. All the fabric on this pallet is yours."

She paused, then changed her tone, her voice becoming soft and seductive: "However, we still need to sign a contract, don't we? Otherwise, I can't give an account to the factory."

Chen Yun immediately became alert: "We'll sign the contract right here. Once we sign it, we'll take the fabric away."

"Oh, Boss Chen, what's the rush?" Zhao Yazhi winked at Fugui. "The little brother worked so hard and sweated so much; we should at least let him rest his feet and have some tea, right? I have some top-grade Longjing in my office."

As she spoke, she didn't care whether Chen Yun agreed or not and directly reached out to grab Fugui's wrist.

Fugui instinctively wanted to dodge, but Zhao Yazhi's hand was as slippery as an eel and caught him instantly. Her hand was very soft and very warm.

"Come, follow me."

Fugui was momentarily dazed and was half-pulled, half-dragged toward the office.

"Fugui!" Chen Yun wanted to follow, but she was stopped by a look from Zhao Yazhi.

"Boss Chen, we're talking about a contract between bosses. As an outsider, don't get involved." Zhao Yazhi looked back and smiled at Chen Yun, a smile full of a winner's boastfulness.

Her meaning was clear: the person she wanted to talk to now was Fugui, not Chen Yun.

Chen Yun turned pale with anger but was helpless. After all, the fabric belonged to the other woman, and the initiative was in her hands. She could only watch helplessly as Fugui was pulled into the office with pink curtains.

With a "bang," the office door closed.

Chen Yun paced outside the door anxiously, like an ant on a hot griddle. She knew what kind of woman Zhao Yazhi was. For an honest, simple boy like Fugui to go in, wasn't it like a sheep entering a tiger's den?

She pressed her ear to the door, trying to hear what was happening inside.

At first, it was very quiet inside.

But before long, some strange sounds faintly drifted out.

First was Zhao Yazhi's delicate voice: "Oh... slow down... don't use so much force..."

Chen Yun's heart immediately jumped into her throat.

Slow down? Force? What... what were they doing?

Then came the metallic scraping sounds of "clatter" and "creak," mixed with Fugui's muffled sounds of exertion.

"No... it's too big... it won't fit at this angle..." Zhao Yazhi's voice carried a hint of panting and anxiety.

"I'll try again... stand back a bit..." That was Fugui's voice.

"Ah... right there! Yes! Harder! Use a bit more force!" Zhao Yazhi's voice suddenly became excited.

"Boom—!"

A heavy thud.

Then came Zhao Yazhi's satisfied yet slightly tired panting: "Phew... finally fixed it. I'm exhausted... little brother, you're really something..."

Outside the door, Chen Yun felt like she was about to explode.

Her face went from white to red, then to green. Her mind had already conjured up ten thousand words of unsightly imagery.

Too big? Won't fit? Harder?

That shameless fox spirit! How dare she do that to Fugui in the office right in front of her... Chen Yun trembled with rage, her fists clenched so hard her nails dug into her palms. She couldn't take it anymore and raised her foot, about to kick the door open!

But just as her foot was about to hit the door, "click," the door opened from the inside.

Fugui walked out covered in sweat, shaking his hands: "That thing was too heavy and rusty; it was really hard to handle."

Then Zhao Yazhi walked out. Her face was flushed, her hair was a bit messy, and a button on her chest was undone, revealing a patch of snow-white skin.

She saw Chen Yun's livid face and her poised foot, froze for a moment, then realized what was happening and giggled, covering her mouth.

"Boss Chen, what are you doing? Trying to tear down my door?"

Chen Yun glared at her, then at the innocent Fugui, and asked through gritted teeth, "What... what were you doing in there?"

Zhao Yazhi laughed even harder and pointed inside the office: "Nothing much, I just asked little brother Fugui to help me fix the door of my safe."

She stepped aside, and Chen Yun finally saw a huge old-fashioned safe standing in the corner of the office with its door wide open. It looked like the hinge had been misaligned, and Fugui must have used brute force to put it back.

"The safe door was too heavy and deformed, so it wouldn't close." Zhao Yazhi flirtatiously brushed her hair. "little brother Fugui is so strong; he straightened it for me. Tell me, wasn't it too big and hard to fit?"

Chen Yun's face instantly turned red to the roots of her ears.

She finally realized she had completely misunderstood.
