162: Chapter 162 Don't move, I'm drawing blood.
At the mention of a blood draw, Wang Fugui's honest and simple face immediately wrinkled like a bitter melon.
He feared nothing in heaven or on earth, except for injections. The sensation of that thin needle piercing into his flesh—just thinking about it made the hairs on his arms stand on end.
"I'm not doing it, I'm not sick." He pulled his arm back behind him, like a child afraid of a shot.
Chen Yun was both annoyed and amused, but at the thought of the "hidden heart condition" Su Qing had mentioned, her heart tightened again. She walked over and coaxed him softly, "Fugui, be good. We'll just take a little bit; it's just like a mosquito bite, it won't hurt."
Lin Xiaocao also pulled his other hand and whispered, "Brother, after the blood draw, I'll cook ten poached eggs for you."
Hearing that there would be ten poached eggs, Wang Fugui finally reluctantly extended his arm.
Su Qing watched this scene, a cold sneer curling the corner of her mouth that was hard to detect. Truly an uncivilized barbarian, needing to be coaxed with food. But this was for the best; a simple mind was easier to control.
She took out a disposable syringe, a tourniquet, and alcohol cotton from her medical kit, preparing with practiced movements.
"Roll up your sleeve, straighten your arm, and make a fist," she said in a commanding tone.
Wang Fugui complied. His forearm was thicker than an ordinary person's thigh, with knotted muscles and bulging veins, brimming with a sense of power.
Su Qing tightened the tourniquet around his upper arm, and the already swollen blood vessels immediately coiled like small snakes, clearly visible. She pressed lightly with her finger, feeling the powerful pulse beneath the vessel, her eyes growing brighter.
"Don't move."
She gave a reminder, then picked up the needle, aimed it at the thickest vessel, and stabbed it in steadily.
Then, an eerie scene occurred.
The sharp needle tip, at the moment it contacted Wang Fugui's skin, actually seemed to hit a piece of tough cowhide. It only caused a small white dot of indentation on the skin, but it couldn't pierce through at all!
"Hmm?"
Su Qing was stunned.
She had practiced medicine for many years and had drawn blood thousands of times; she could hit a vein with her eyes closed, yet she had never encountered such a situation.
Refusing to believe it, she added some force and tried again.
The result was the same. The needle tip seemed to be blocked by an invisible barrier; no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't pierce that seemingly thin layer of skin.
How was this possible? His skin density... could it be several times higher than that of an ordinary person?
Countless guesses flashed through Su Qing's mind in an instant, and a layer of fine sweat broke out on her forehead. This had completely exceeded the scope of her knowledge.
Wang Fugui also felt that something was wrong. Watching the female doctor poke at his arm with the needle, which was starting to hurt a bit, he couldn't help but ask, "Doctor, are you capable or not?"
To Su Qing, these words were simply a supreme humiliation.
She took a deep breath and said to Wang Fugui, "Your muscles are too tense, and your skin is pulled too tight. Relax a bit."
"Oh." Wang Fugui nodded half-comprehendingly. He thought his own excessive force had tightened the skin over his muscles, preventing the needle from going in.
So, he obediently relaxed his tensed arm slightly.
It was this one "relaxation" that caused the accident.
The Qi and blood within his body were suppressing the muscles, and the muscles were keeping the skin taut, forming a subtle balance. When he relaxed, that suppressed, powerful Qi and blood instantly found an outlet.
With a soft "pfft" sound, the needle finally broke through the skin's obstruction.
But immediately following that, it wasn't blood slowly flowing into the syringe. Instead, a jet of deep red blood, carrying immense pressure, burst violently from the needle hole!
"Sss—!"
Su Qing had no time to react at all before that scalding blood, filled with masculine energy, sprayed directly onto her face!
The warm liquid slid down her cheeks, dripping onto her white shirt and quickly blooming into seductive red flowers. A thick masculine scent with a hint of iron instantly enveloped all her senses.
The entire attic fell into a deathly silence in an instant.
Chen Yun and Lin Xiaocao were both dumbfounded.
Wang Fugui was also dazed. He looked at the needle hole on his arm that was still oozing blood, then at the female doctor opposite him who was frozen like a statue with a face full of blood, feeling at a loss for a moment.
"I... I didn't do it on purpose..."
At this moment, Su Qing could no longer hear the sounds around her.
The moment Wang Fugui's blood touched her skin, she felt as if she had been caught in an unprecedented deep-sea storm.
That intense aura, filled with the primal power of life, flooded into her body through her skin and her breath.
Su Qing's cheeks were instantly stained with a sickly flush, and her pupils dilated involuntarily. She felt as if her bones had melted, her legs turning as soft as noodles. A wave of overwhelming pleasure and heat surged from the base of her spine straight to the top of her head.
Her body began to burn, and a numbing warm current surged through her entire being.
Double vision even appeared before her eyes for a moment; her mind went blank, and all her reason and thinking ability were shattered by this sudden impact.
With a "boom," her brain completely short-circuited.
Intoxicated.
Not the daze from alcohol, but the loss of self after being instantly pierced and filled by some high-dimensional life energy.
This was too absurd! Too unscientific!
But the body's reaction was so real; she could even feel her heart racing uncontrollably, her blood surging through her veins, and an inexplicable heat rising from deep within her body.
"Doctor! Doctor Su! Don't scare me!" Chen Yun snapped out of it and hurriedly grabbed a towel to hand over.
Su Qing suddenly shuddered and came back to her senses. She didn't take the towel; instead, with a near-frenzied look that also held a trace of fear, she tightly gripped the syringe that was already half-filled with blood.
Her breathing was as rapid as if she were running a marathon, and her whole body was still uncontrollably trembling slightly.
With trembling hands, she carefully pulled out the needle, pressed a cotton swab firmly against Wang Fugui's puncture site, and then clutched that tube of blood tightly in her palm as if protecting a rare treasure.
"I... I'm fine." Su Qing's voice was terribly hoarse, with an alluring slight quiver. "The sampling is complete. I'm going to test it now... Stay here, don't move!"
With that, she didn't even bother to wipe the blood from her face or pack up the medical equipment on the table. She just grabbed her medical kit and rushed out of the attic with unsteady steps, almost as if fleeing.
Watching her stumbling back, Chen Yun and Lin Xiaocao looked at each other.
"Sister Yun, that doctor... why did her eyes look like she had a fever just now?" Lin Xiaocao asked with lingering fear.
