165: Siren's Tears
Bai Ye took a deep breath and lightly stamped his right foot on the ground.
“Boom!”
The entire cavern shook violently.
The ground beneath his feet cracked open.
He leaped directly above the pool, looking down at the giant shell.
He raised his right arm, which was wrapped in Vine Armor, and clenched his fist.
solar energy, attribute energy, Dreamlike Power, and Mental Energy—several distinct powers converged on his fist.
As the disparate forces were forcibly mixed, the space around his fist seemed to subtly twist.
Bai Ye's right fist looked like it had transformed into a small sun.
It illuminated the cavern so brightly that people couldn't open their eyes, and he smashed it fiercely toward the energy shield below.
“Boom!”
He brought his fist straight down.
The moment the fist edge contacted the energy shield, a sharp wail erupted from the point of contact.
Countless dazzling light streaks burst forth from the shield, spreading across its entire surface.
A violent shockwave spread out, lifting the pool water several meters high before crashing heavily back down.
The Seal was broken?
It broke with just one punch?
Even a Lord-level powerhouse would need to exert tremendous effort just to slightly shake it.
“Cough, cough...”
Bai Ye retracted his fist and couldn't help but cough twice.
That punch just now looked effortless on the surface.
But in reality, it had drained nearly one-third of the energy inside his body.
After taking that punch, even a Lord Intermediate Grade would be dazed for quite a while.
Above the pool, the fluorescent shield turned into countless specks of light and dissipated into the air.
Losing the support of the Seal, the shell suspended in the center of the pool fell back into the water, splashing up huge amounts of spray.
“My Lord!”
The Leader of the Melodious Sea Demons snapped back to reality and excitedly rushed to Bai Ye's side, incoherent with emotion.
“No, you... Your Excellency truly did it!”
Bai Ye deactivated Sage Mode, and the Vine Armor and black trench coat on his body reverted to the form of his beast pet.
His face had turned slightly pale, but after consuming his stored solar energy, his vitality instantly returned, and he waved his hand at the sea demon.
“Go quickly and check on your Sacred Object.”
He was more concerned about exactly what this so-called Sacred Object was.
He hoped it would have some value, otherwise, this trip would have been a waste of effort.
Well, he shouldn't say that; at the very least, he could still pack up a few attractive sea demons to take back.
“Yes, yes!”
The Leader of the Melodious Sea Demons seemed to wake up from a dream and quickly led her clansmen to swim toward the shell in the center of the pool.
Bai Ye followed suit, instructing Orchid to extend a Vine Whip and condense a piece of floating ice on the water's surface.
Carrying him and the two little cats, it floated steadily on the water.
Residual energy from the broken Seal still lingered on the shell's surface, causing it to emit a faint blue light.
The Leader of the Melodious Sea Demons stretched out trembling hands to caress the shell's surface, her eyes filled with tears.
“Ancestors, we can finally see the Sacred Object again.”
She exchanged glances with the other sea demons and simultaneously pressed their palms onto the gap of the shell.
They began chanting a song that Bai Ye couldn't understand at all.
Frightened, Xiao Hei quickly covered his ears, and only when he realized he hadn't fallen into an illusion again did he nervously lower his paws from his ears.
As the singing grew louder, pure Water System energy surged from their palms into the shell.
“Click...”
A crisp sound rang out from the tightly closed shell, and a gap opened up in the center.
Brilliant blue light shot out from the gap.
The entire cavern was illuminated in a deep azure blue.
A rich aura of life permeated the air from the shell.
“Good stuff!” Bai Ye's eyes lit up, and he excitedly rubbed his hands together as he moved closer to the shell.
Inside the shell was an exquisite pedestal made of pearls.
Two items lay upon the pedestal.
One was a fist-sized egg, pale blue all over and covered in patterns.
Another Demonic Beast egg?
I've seen enough of these. Take it away quickly.
Bai Ye quickly looked at the other item.
It was a crystal, clear and translucent, like a teardrop.
“This is our Sacred Object?”
The sea demons looked at the contents of the shell, so excited that tears streamed down their faces.
The egg that Bai Ye disregarded contained Bloodline Power originating from the same source as theirs, and it was even stronger than any of them possessed.
“Ancestor, no, it should be our Princess Your Highness!”
The Leader of the Melodious Sea Demons tremblingly stretched out her hand, wanting to touch the egg, but fearing her touch might accidentally shatter the fragile egg.

“tear of the sea demon!”
His gaze swept across the description in the illustrated compendium.
After seeing the description, his first thought was of Orchid.
Among the Materials required for Orchid's evolutionary form, "Spiritual Charm Monarch Orchid," there is an item called "Fountain of Life."
The effect of this “tear of the sea demon” is similar to, or even surpasses, that of the “Fountain of Life.”
Although he wasn't sure if it could be a complete substitute, this was definitely the closest alternative he could find right now.
He glanced at the sea demons beside him who were still extremely excited.
According to their agreement, he was fully entitled to take the tear of the sea demon directly.
Before that, he decided to first check what the deal was with that egg.
He cleared his throat and asked, feigning curiosity:
“Is this egg the hope of your sea demon clan?”
The Leader of the Melodious Sea Demons wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and respectfully replied:
“This is the egg of the last Princess of our sea demon clan, and the sole hope for our clan's revival.”
“A Princess?”
Bai Ye raised an eyebrow. “Sounds very impressive.”
“Of course!”
One of the younger sea demons couldn't help but puff out her chest proudly.
“Our sea demon clan's ancestral Bloodline inherently possesses great power; once they reach adulthood, they are at least Lord-level entities!”
“Oh?” Bai Ye's interest grew stronger.
He mentally instructed the illustrated compendium to scan it again.

“king mid-grade!”
When Bai Ye saw the Aptitude column, he couldn't help but gasp.
He had guessed the egg's Aptitude was high, but he never expected it to reach such a level.
Even Phantom Snow wasn't a born King.
