9: Lich
Watching the "white tide" retreating rapidly, Bai Ye had no intention of letting them go just like that.
He pushed off with his feet, following at a distance behind the main group.
Over three hours later, a bottomless, pitch-black pit appeared before Bai Ye's eyes.
Those Yao Beasts of the Undead System, which had been fearless just moments ago, were now walking into the pit one by one, in an extremely orderly fashion.
"They have brains, but not many."
Bai Ye understood immediately.
This method of control was more than a level higher than that of the Wraith Warrior.
What was hidden below was most likely a higher-level Demonic Beast of the Undead System.
It was likely the Secret Realm Master of this Secret Realm.
Good heavens, he had reeled in a big fish.
Bai Ye licked his slightly dry lips, glanced at the pitch-black cave, and then looked up at the sky.
This was different from dealing with the Wraith Warrior before.
Once underground, sunlight would be completely cut off, and his strength and recovery abilities would be greatly diminished.
Fighting on away turf? Only a fool would do that.
Bai Ye made up his mind... scout it out first.
As long as he could see the Secret Realm Master with his own eyes, he could dig up all its information.
Having intelligence versus having no intelligence were two completely different concepts.
Taking advantage of the moment the last undead creature disappeared into the cave, Bai Ye hunched over and carefully crept to the edge of the pit.
He kept half his body in the sunlight while leaning his upper body inside.
After entering the Transcendent Rank, his five senses had been enhanced, allowing him to barely see the surrounding environment even in the darkness.
Looking down along the cave, the outline of a massive ancient castle gradually became clear.
The bunker was irregularly circular, its surface covered in traces of erosion from time and mottled moss, as if it had grown straight out of the earth.
The entrance was a tall stone gate, and on both sides, two Wraith Warriors were standing guard.
Bai Ye's eyes lit up.
"Both are Transcendent Low-Rank, not bad. I can happily acquire two more rare weapons."
He silently retreated to the cave entrance, rubbing his chin with one hand, his thoughts racing.
Wraith Warriors really didn't amount to much now.
But the problem was, to have two Wraith Warriors guarding the door, the strength of the master must be at least Transcendence High-rank.
It might even be Transcendent Limit.
He couldn't let the benefits within reach go to his head.
Bai Ye raised his hand, and a cluster of pink pollen appeared and swirled in his palm.
"Outside, the power of a dust explosion would be diluted, but if it were in this space-constrained cave..."
As long as the concentration was high enough, the resulting explosion would absolutely be earth-shattering!
Skill Rank was never the only standard for judging power.
If used well, it was no worse than a High-Rank skill.
He already had a target.
Either blow that guy up directly in its lair, or force it out from underground!
In any case, there was no way he would fight underground.
Wisps of pollen were sent into the cave by Bai Ye, and the Ghost Orchid also popped out from time to time to lend a hand.
It would cast a skill, and then, because its mana bar was depleted, it would listlessly return to the beast taming space.
Depleting energy also counted as defeat, except this time the target had shifted from Bai Ye to the bunker's owner.
He could even brush up on his skill proficiency in the process; it was killing two birds with one stone.
It wasn't until the sun went down that Bai Ye lowered his hands, his face full of exhaustion.
This was equivalent to continuously casting a Mid-Rank skill without a moment's pause.
It was only because his Photosynthesis quality was about to reach blue that he could manage; otherwise, any other Elite Rank beast pet would have been drained dry.
A rich floral scent wafted at the entrance of the cave.
"That's about enough. Blow it up!"
Following Bai Ye's command, an earth-shattering roar instantly erupted from inside the cave!
Boom!
The intense explosion shockwave raged wildly in the underground space, and billowing smoke and dust soared into the sky, instantly filling the entire cave.
The massive sound waves collided back and forth underground, causing the surrounding soil and rocks to rattle and fall.
The stone walls trembled violently, and the bunker's walls developed spiderweb-like cracks from the explosion, threatening to collapse at any moment.
Those two Wraith Warriors didn't even have a chance to react before being swept into the vortex of the explosion.
They only had time to let out a painful shriek before their bodies were reduced to fragments in the violent energy.
This power would make even a Transcendent Limit being peel a layer of skin if they were at the center of the explosion, if not kill them outright.
Bai Ye retreated far away to avoid being hit by the shockwave, his eyes fixed firmly on the cave entrance.
He was looking forward to the bunker's owner being forced out by this attack.
A moment later, apart from the gradually dissipating smoke and the lingering aftermath, there was no other movement in the cave.
"It can endure even this? Is this guy a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?"
Bai Ye frowned deeply.
At night, his endurance was greatly reduced, and he couldn't perform another round of carpet bombing like this.
Forget it, he would wait until tomorrow morning to do it again.
Just as Bai Ye was preparing to leave temporarily, a low roar suddenly came from the cave, and a suffocatingly powerful aura gushed out.
"You've come out? I thought you intended to be a coward for the rest of your life."
Bai Ye was not alarmed but delighted. With wind at his heels, his figure retreated rapidly, giving the opponent absolutely no chance to react.
While scattering pollen in all directions, he hid deep in the forest without looking back.
Confront it head-on? Are you kidding me!
This is my escape route!
Bai Ye glanced back and saw a black shadow shooting up into the sky from the cave, racing toward the direction he had disappeared with endless fury.
The next second, the pollen he had left behind detonated instantly, and the resulting thick smoke successfully masked his figure.
Leaving only the bunker's owner behind, letting out an unwilling, shrill roar.
"How scary~ as expected of a Transcendent Limit."
【Name】: Lich

【Aptitude】: Commander Mid-Rank
【Rank】: Transcendent Limit

【Talent】: Absorption Strengthening (Green)
【Absorption Strengthening (Green)】: Absorbs the Soul of species with the same attribute, accelerating the evolution speed.
It wasn't just a simple Transcendent Limit; it had two Advanced skills, and its Talent could even accelerate evolution.
As expected of a Secret Realm Master, it was even stronger than the Liches cultivated by most Beast Tamers in the outside world.
Most of the Yao Beasts in this Secret Realm had likely been transformed into undead creatures by this Lich, becoming nutrients to accelerate its Cultivate.
If given more time, should its strength continue to rise, the Rank of the Secret Realm would likely rise along with it.
After all, a Secret Realm is not unchanging.
Hmm, he needed to improve his strength quickly.
Bond Nexus, activate!
While Bai Ye was stacking attributes on his side, the Lich was having a miserable time.
The two Wraith Warriors it had painstakingly cultivated were blown to smithereens, and thousands of undead creatures were wasted for nothing.
Don't think that just because it could summon the undead, there was no limit to the quantity.
"@#¥%&..."
The Lich cursed in a language no one could understand, and unwillingly returned to the bunker.
If it ever encountered that damn grass-type Yao Beast again, it swore it would extract the other's Soul and turn it into the lowliest undead, tormenting it day and night.
Its withered, chicken-claw-like fingers sliced through the air, and hundreds of undead Yao Beasts walked out of the bunker in perfect unison.
Carrying various repair tools in their hands, they began to perform emergency repairs on the damaged bunker.
Under the control of the Lich, the mindless undead Yao Beasts became the perfect "construction workers."
In just one night, the bunker was repaired to a large extent, restoring it to its previous appearance.
