23: Chapter 23 A robust security system! Who dares to invade?

As the sky slightly brightened in the early morning, a touch of fish-belly white appeared on the horizon, and golden sunlight flooded the entire factory building, perfectly hitting the four shiny silver characters of "Panshi Foundation."

It was a newly hung metal sign. The dark gray base plate made the font particularly eye-catching. Standing at the entrance of the factory, it instantly added a touch of a proper factory appearance to this dilapidated scrap yard area.

Chen Fan had an unlit cigarette in his mouth, squinting at the sign. Wang Defu leaned in beside him, wiping the floating dust off the sign with a handkerchief while patting the dust off his hands, his voice full of emotion: "Good heavens, after nearly two months of tossing and turning, it finally looks like a factory. Xiao Fan, do you think this broken place of ours can really..."

Before he could finish, the second half of his sentence got stuck in his throat. His originally relaxed face instantly tensed up. He nudged Chen Fan with his elbow and lowered his voice significantly: "Hey! Look over there, at the corner of the wall!"

Chen Fan's heart tightened, and he looked in the direction he was pointing.

Fifty meters away, beside the bumpy dirt road outside the scrap yard, a dusty van was hiding listlessly behind an old locust tree. The car body was covered in a thick layer of dust, almost blending in with the surrounding wasteland. However, the window, which was rolled down a small fraction, was like a sneaky eye peering directly toward the factory building.

With such a surreptitious posture, anyone could tell they were up to no good.

"It should be Scar Qiang's people." Chen Fan's eyes darkened, his gaze locked tightly onto the van.

As soon as he finished speaking, the van suddenly started. They must have seen that Chen Fan had discovered them. The engine let out a roar like a broken gong, and the rear of the car kicked up a large cloud of yellow dust. Without even looking back, it made a sharp turn, jolted onto the main road, and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Wang Defu's face instantly dropped, his brow furrowed into a deep frown, and he spat: "Bad luck! It's only the first day of hanging the sign, and they come to spoil the mood."

Chen Fan didn't say a word. He just stubbed out the cigarette in his hand and turned to walk into the factory, his steps fast and heavy: "This is a reminderβ€”we need to upgrade the factory's security immediately."

In the past, with just the two of them guarding a scrap yard, they only had to prevent petty theft at most. But now it was different. Panshi Foundation had officially started production. Once performance improved later on, who knows how many eyes would be watching. If security wasn't up to par, a major incident would happen sooner or later.

Walking into the factory's control room, Chen Fan asked Xiao Zhi to design a complete security system. The requirement wasn't just ordinary monitoring, but the kind that could provide early warnings, interceptions, and countermeasures.

"Instruction received, designing plan." Xiao Zhi immediately took on the task. A few seconds after the electronic voice faded, Xiao Zhi sent the design plan to Chen Fan.

Based on the list, Chen Fan organized a bunch of junk that needed to be collected: old dashcams, scrapped smartphones, rusted agricultural sprayers, discarded vibration sensors from construction sites, and several broken aerial drones... Chen Fan gave the list to Wang Defu and had him gather these scraps. He would be responsible for the modification and installation himself.

He originally thought he could take a break, but for the next three days, the entire Panshi Foundation factory area turned into a massive modification site. The clanging of hammers, the sizzling of welding, and the roar of machinery didn't stop from morning till night.

The first thing completed was the Early Warning Layer.

Wang Defu dug out over twenty scrapped dashcams and old phones from the electronic waste pile. These things either had broken screens or bulging batteries. He performed Amplification on each device. The amplified devices could not only capture clear images in the pitch-black night but also automatically recognize human silhouettes. Even if a stray cat passed in front of the lens, they could distinguish it accurately.

These "modified monitors" were placed by Chen Fan and Wang Defu in various corners of the factory area: some were disguised as lights on top of the walls, some were tucked into the grilles of ventilation ducts, and some were simply tied to trees with a bird's nest over them. Unless you looked closely, you wouldn't find them at all.

Once the twenty-plus monitoring points were set up, they formed a monitoring network with no blind spots around the factory. As long as unauthorized personnel approached within a hundred meters of the factory area, the worker bee system would immediately receive a Level 3 alert.

Just as the Early Warning Layer was finished, the Sensing Layer followed.

The vibration sensors Wang Defu recovered from the construction site could originally only barely detect large vehicles passing by. But after Amplification and modification, they directly became a Ground Wave Vibration Detection Array.

He and Wang Defu took shovels and dug a circle of shallow trenches three meters inside and outside the walls, burying the sensors one by one, then filling them with soil and tamping them down.

This thing was even more sensitive than the Early Warning Layer. Forget someone climbing the wall; even if a stray cat jumped over it, worker bee could accurately judge the cat's weight and landing point based on the vibration waveform. It was practically more useful than radar.

What amazed Wang Defu the most was the Interception Layer.

The agricultural sprayers dug out from the corner of the scrap yard were originally so rusted they were falling apart, with bent spray bars. Chen Fan forcibly modified them into Area Denial Sprayers.

The modified sprayers were fixed to the eaves of the factory and the top of the walls, covered with a plastic shell that looked no different from ordinary water pipes. But who would have thought that what sprayed out of these "water pipes" wasn't water, but high-viscosity foam that Chen Fan had created by using Amplification on expired glue and detergent.

This foam was extremely sticky. Once sprayed on a person, it could instantly wrap them up like a zongzi. Forget moving; they couldn't even bend a finger. Moreover, it was particularly difficult to clean off and required a special solvent to remove, making it a divine tool for preventing intrusion.

As long as worker bee determined that an intruder's threat level reached Level 2, this system would automatically activate and spray the target fiercely, ensuring they had no way back.

The last thing completed was the Countermeasure Layer.

Chen Fan temporarily adjusted the production line in the "hundred refinements" workshop, using leftover metal scraps to produce a batch of metal balls the size of billiard balls. The surfaces of these metal balls were covered with dense small holes, looking unremarkable, but inside were installed amplified piezoelectric ceramics and miniature energy storage units.

Once activated, these small balls could continuously emit a specific frequency of sound waves. Although they wouldn't cause permanent harm to people, they could instantly make a person dizzy, nauseous, and unable to even stand steadily.

Chen Fan also used Amplification to turn those scrapped aerial drones into a Small Drone Swarm, specifically used to deploy these Sonic Balls. Once someone broke through the first two lines of defense, the drones would fly over with the Sonic Balls and form a moving sonic barrier around the target, causing them to completely lose their ability to resist.

In addition, Chen Fan personally modified the factory's main power distribution box.

The amplified distribution box could, under the control of worker bee, release controllable Intense Electromagnetic Pulses to specific areas. This thing was quite powerful, enough to burn out all surrounding electronic equipment. Whether it was the opponent's monitoring equipment or communication tools, as soon as they were swept by the pulse, they would instantly become a pile of scrap metal. It was truly the "nemesis" of electronic devices.

After three days of hardcore modification, the entire security system was completely finished.

Wang Defu looked at the dummy wrapped in white foam during testing, then glanced at the drones hovering in mid-air and the pile of Sonic Balls. He couldn't help but click his tongue: "Xiao Fan, you're really a genius. If someone actually breaks in, won't they be driven to tears?"

Chen Fan was squatting on the ground checking the last Sonic Ball. Hearing this, he looked up and smiled, but his tone was exceptionally serious: "We're just protecting ourselves. I said long ago, we don't go looking for trouble, but we absolutely cannot let others push us around."

The worker bee system had already integrated and managed all the equipment, forming three layers of rock-solid defense circles: outer early warning, middle-stage interception, and core countermeasure.

The entire system was usually in a silent state with extremely low power consumption, but once an alarm was triggered, it could respond instantly within 0.1 seconds.

Standing in the control room and looking at the dense monitoring points and sensor data on the screen, Chen Fan finally felt a full sense of security.

Now that the factory was on the right track, connecting with sales channels was the next focus. No matter how good a product is, if it can't be sold, it will just sit in your hands.

Chen Fan knew that currently, they had no channels and no background, and the company was newly established. They could only rely on some black-tech methods.
