75: Chapter 75 The Long Group in Turmoil
Long Zaitian slowly stood up, a sudden chill running down the back of his neck—he felt as if a pair of eyes were staring intently at him from the shadows.
"Where is the Technical Director?"
His voice sounded calm, but the assistant beside him felt their heart skip a beat; the chill suppressed beneath that calm was enough to freeze someone to death.
"He's... he's on his way, he'll be here in five minutes!"
"Notify the Network Security Department to immediately initiate the highest level of emergency response!" Long Zaitian turned abruptly, his eyes filled with aggressive ruthlessness. "I want to find out if this is just a string of unlucky coincidences, or—"
He paused, enunciating every word so clearly that they made one's ears tremble:
"Someone is launching a systemic attack against our Long Corporation!"
Fanxing Factory, Control Center.
Chen Fan stared at the dense clusters of yellow warning lights across the Long Group's map on his screen, a cold sneer playing on his lips. Those were "system self-check alarms" simulated by Xiao Zhi, specifically designed to fool the tech geeks at the Long Corporation.
The attack was long over. Even if the Long Corporation's people tore their servers apart, they would have to struggle through a mountain of fake logs and technical traps for several hours before concluding that it was "highly likely a system error."
"Nicely done," Chen Fan said flatly, his fingers tapping lightly on the desk. "Next target: the Long Corporation's supply chain. Take them down one by one."
"Understood! Locking onto three core suppliers for Long Heavy Industry—special steel materials, precision bearings, and control system chips. These are their lifeblood!"
The network technology of these three factories was handled by third parties; their network defenses were as flimsy as paper and couldn't compare to the Long Corporation's.
Xiao Zhi instantly went full throttle, surging forward in three directions and crashing into the firewalls of the three suppliers. Port blasting in 0.3 seconds, permission bypass in 1.2 seconds—not a single alarm was triggered throughout the process, and even the system logs were quietly replaced with clean, mundane records.
Just then, Lin Hao burst in noisily. He glanced at the screen, and his eyes instantly lit up like lightbulbs. "Fan Zi, you're making such a big move and you didn't even call me?!"
"It's a small matter, no need to bother you." Chen Fan watched the waterfall of code leaping across the screen, feeling incredibly satisfied. "I'm having Xiao Zhi hack their networked systems. It won't be long before the Long Corporation is in a total mess."
"Holy crap! I almost missed such an exciting scene!" Lin Hao rubbed his hands together and leaned in, looking excited. "Quick, tell me, what's the next move?"
"Move?" A hint of ruthlessness flashed in Chen Fan's eyes, the anger he'd been holding back since last night finally erupting. "I'm going to make that kid Long Zaitian frantic for the next seven days—unable to eat or sleep!"
While Xiao Zhi conquered territory, it popped up cold progress boxes: in the special steel materials supplier's inventory database, lines of glaring red "out of stock" codes were precisely replaced with green "sufficient stock"; in the logistics backend for precision bearings, GPS coordinates were manually tampered with, pinning the real-time tracks of transport vehicles to deserted national highways in the outskirts; as for the chip supplier's quality control system, Xiao Zhi was even more ruthless, planting a string of randomly fluctuating interference codes at the sixth decimal place of the pass threshold—undetectable to the naked eye.
It didn't go for a crude system shutdown; it was playing a much more insidious game of precision hunting.
An hour later, the systems of these three suppliers would be in this state of chaos:
The special steel materials backend would show full inventory, but the corresponding batches of goods in the warehouse would simply vanish into thin air;
The logistics info for precision bearings would clearly state "shipped," but the transport trucks' GPS signals would disappear halfway;
The quality control reports for the control system chips would show a "99.9% pass rate," but that 0.1% of defective products would trigger random, unreplicable failures during installation.
These methods wouldn't cause the Long Corporation to stop production immediately.
But like a slow-acting poison, over the coming week, it would surely throw Long Heavy Industry' production plans into complete disarray, cause product quality to fluctuate wildly, and result in customer complaints flying in like snowflakes.
"Report: the expected effects will gradually manifest within 24 to 72 hours." Xiao Zhi's voice sounded a bit excited, perhaps seeking revenge for its body being "paralyzed" by Long Zaitian's attack earlier.
Chen Fan nodded with satisfaction and tapped the Enter key. "Keep going. Don't let a single one of the Long Corporation's other industries off the hook!"
Lin Hao watched with boiling blood, slamming a fist into his palm. "Awesome! Finally, the Long Corporation is getting a taste of being ground into the dirt!"
