46: Chapter 46 Fairy Valley Market

Chapter 46 Xianrengu Market

After Liu Chunmei left, Mo Shoutian looked at Mo Xiaochuan and said,

"Xiaochuan, you take Xiuyun to see those little things raised in the backyard."

Mo Xiaochuan nodded and looked at Chen Xiuyun.

"Sister Xiuyun, there are quite a few small beasts caught from the mountains raised in the backyard; I'll take you to see them."

Chen Xiuyun blushed and gave a soft assent, following Mo Xiaochuan to the backyard.

Only Mo Shoutian and Chen Wanshan were left in the main hall.

Mo Shoutian asked,

"Brother Chen, do you know the Xuanyang Sect?"

Chen Wanshan shook his head.

"Never heard of it."

"Now the Mo family has already attached itself to the Xuanyang Sect, and I have also agreed to their conditions."

Mo Shoutian recounted everything that happened at Xianyuan Pavilion from start to finish, along with the plan he had just discussed with Mo Changlin to go to Xianren Valley together tomorrow.

Chen Wanshan smiled after listening.

"To think I've spent over twenty years in Qingshi Town without even knowing that those large shops had cultivation Sects behind them."

"It seems my old Chen's Shop from before was still too small."

After finishing, he looked at Mo Shoutian again.

"Brother Shoutian, do you really plan to go tomorrow?"

Mo Shoutian sighed.

"What else can I do if I don't go? However, in my opinion, this matter might not entirely be a bad thing."

"How do you say that? Could it possibly be a good thing?"

"Consider it a bit of benefit mixed into a bad thing. Elder Zhou said that everyone doing business in Xianren Valley are practitioners of cultivation, perhaps it can exchange for better Cultivation resources for Xiaochuan and the others."

Chen Wanshan thought for a moment and said,

"Brother Shoutian, count me in for tomorrow too. Let's go take a look together."

"Alright, with Brother Chen coming along, I can feel more at ease."

In the Mo family backyard, Mo Xiaochuan was taking Chen Xiuyun to see those small beasts caught from the back mountain during hunting.

Chen Xiuyun pointed at one of them and asked,

"It's so cute, can I touch it?"

That small beast had snow-white fur all over, with only two circles of black hair growing around its eyes, looking very honest and simple.

"Of course you can."

Mo Xiaochuan climbed over the fence, picked up that small beast, and brought it in front of Chen Xiuyun.

Chen Xiuyun reached out and touched the head of the small beast.

"It's really so cute."

She lowered her head and smiled.

The setting sun shone in from outside the courtyard wall, landing right on her fair face. Her long braid hung by her shoulder, swaying a few times in the wind.

Mo Xiaochuan stood nearby watching, forgetting to speak for a moment.

"Brother Xiaochuan, do you think it's cute?"

Chen Xiuyun raised her head, and seeing that Mo Xiaochuan was looking at her, her face turned red again.

After a while, Mo Xiaochuan looked away first.

"Xiuyun, do you know that I can Cultivate?"

"My dad told me, and also told me to keep it a secret and not tell others."

Mo Xiaochuan looked at her and reached out to hold her hand.

"Then do you like me?"

Chen Xiuyun's hand didn't dodge, letting him hold it, and she nodded with a blushing face.

By evening, Liu Chunmei made two tables of dishes.

One table was seated by Mo Shoutian, Liu Chunmei, Chen Wanshan, Mo Xiaochuan, and Chen Xiuyun; the other table was seated by Nannan, Xiao Niuzi, and the two newly arrived children.

Although Nannan was the youngest among the children, she already knew how to help take care of the two newly arrived children.

After the four children ate their fill, they went to the backyard to play together.

During dinner, neither Mo Shoutian nor Chen Wanshan mentioned the Xuanyang Sect or Xianren Valley.

Chen Xiuyun was no longer as reserved as when she first arrived, continuously picking food for Mo Xiaochuan. Mo Xiaochuan also occasionally picked a piece of food for her.

Mo Shoutian, Liu Chunmei, and Chen Wanshan watched the two children, smiling from ear to ear.

Early the next morning, Chen Wanshan and Mo Shoutian led their horses just out of the Mo family's main gate and saw Mo Changlin already waiting outside.

After greeting each other, the three rode their horses toward Qingshi Town.

They stayed for a night at the Mo family's inn in Qingshi Town, and early the next morning set off again for Xianrengu Market.

Following the direction Elder Zhou Xuanze mentioned, Mo Shoutian went out of Qingshi Town all the way north, riding for about fifty li, yet failed to find the Xianren Valley he spoke of.

Mo Changlin looked at Mo Shoutian searching everywhere for Xianren Valley and asked,

"Shoutian, are you sure you didn't take the wrong direction?"

Before Mo Shoutian could speak, Chen Wanshan said,

"I've lived half my life in Qingshi Town, Brother Shoutian's direction is fine. This place is about fifty li away from Qingshi Town too."

Mo Changlin looked around.

"The direction is right, the location is about right too, so where on earth is that Xianren Valley?"

Just at that moment, Mo Shoutian, who was walking at the very front, saw a misty valley between two tall mountains not far away.

"Uncle Changlin, Brother Chen, do you guys say that Xianren Valley could be right over there?"

Mo Shoutian raised his hand and pointed at the valley shrouded in thick fog.

Mo Changlin and Chen Wanshan looked over in the direction he pointed.

Mo Changlin said,

"If both the direction and location are correct, it should be right there. There is only such one valley nearby."

Chen Wanshan followed up by saying,

"I think Uncle Changlin is right, let's go over and take a look."

The three whipped their horses and hurried towards that valley.

After arriving at the edge of the valley, the three looked back and forth, but didn't go in immediately.

The fog in the valley was too thick, and nothing could be seen looking inside at all. The three stopped outside, unable to make up their minds for a moment.

Just at that moment, a voice came from within the thick fog:

"A place of immortals, you Mortals dare to barge around randomly, do you not want to live?"

Mo Shoutian looked around, but failed to find the person who spoke, and could only cup his hands towards the direction the voice came from.

"I am Mo Shoutian, our Mo family has already attached ourselves to the Xuanyang Sect. This time, Xuanyang Sect's outer Sect Elder Zhou Xuanze asked us to come, wishing to enter the valley to do some business."

As soon as Mo Shoutian's voice fell, a person walked out from the thick fog ahead.

That person wore a dark red robe, holding a long sword in hand, looking only seventeen or eighteen years old.

"Do you have the xuanyang token?"

"Yes."

Mo Shoutian took out the xuanyang token from his embrace and handed it over.

That person took the token, glanced at it, and then looked up to size up the three of them.

"First time coming?"

"Yes."

That person returned the token to Mo Shoutian.

"Ahead is Xianrengu Market. After entering, you are not allowed to fight with people, and look clearly when buying things, especially those stalls on the roadside; no one cares if you buy the wrong thing."

That person reminded them once more:

"The xuanyang token can only be used by your Mo family, and must not be lent to outsiders. If someone is caught sneaking into the market holding the token, the Xuanyang Sect will directly take it back."

Mo Shoutian nodded, took the token, and asked,

"What if we want to sell things inside in the future?"

"Go to the Executive Hall to pay money for setting up a stall, and go there to ask if you want to rent a shop."

Mo Shoutian nodded.

"Many thanks, Immortal Elder."

That person waved his hand.

"Go on in."

Viewed from the outside, ahead was entirely thick fog where you couldn't see your own fingers.

But after the three led their horses into the fog, the thick fog before their eyes instantly vanished, and the inside was no different from an ordinary valley.

In the middle of the valley was paved a wide bluestone road, with shops of various sizes built on both sides of the road.

Medicinal Pill shops, Spiritual Plant shops, weapon shops, and restaurants stood close to one another, with various signboards hanging in front of their doors.

There were quite a few people on the street, some carrying long swords, some wearing Taoist robes, and some accompanied by strange beasts Mo Shoutian had never seen before.

Dozens of stalls were set up in the open space not far away, with bottles and jars, Spiritual Plants, weapons, and animal skins scattered everywhere.

"Qi-Drawing Medicinal Pill, three Spirit Stones each."

"Newly dug Fire Spiritual Plant, only three Spirit Stones."
