80: Chapter 80 Let's go east.
Liang Shaoheng did not answer immediately, but instead glanced at the carriage parked by the roadside.
"The Liang Family has been doing business near Qinghuai Ridge all these years, and now we also want to venture a bit toward the east."
Han Qingshan asked:
"What does this have to do with rebuilding the Xuanyang Sect?"
"Of course it does."
Liang Shaoheng said:
"Qingshi Town, Xianren Valley, and the properties left behind by your Xuanyang Sect are all managed by the Mo Family now. If the Liang Family wants to expand our business over there, we will sooner or later have to deal with the Mo Family."
Han Qingshan caught his meaning.
"So the Liang Family wants to use us to deal with the Mo Family?"
Hearing this, the three Junior Brothers all looked toward Liang Shaoheng.
Liang Shaoheng smiled.
"Brother Han is overthinking it."
"The Mo Family has a Golden Core Cultivator and the Qingmu Sect backing them up. Even if the Liang Family wanted to do something, we wouldn't let the four of you march to your deaths."
Han Qingshan did not speak.
Liang Shaoheng continued:
"However, the Xuanyang Sect has a Legacy spanning many years, and the old mountain gate, Spiritual Vein, and herb garden originally belonged to you. Now that you still have Disciples alive and want to re-establish the Sect, it is not without reason."
"The Liang Family can help you find a place to settle down and provide some items needed to Cultivate. In the future, if the Xuanyang Sect can truly regain its footing, the Liang Family wishes to rent a few shops in Qingshi Town and Xianren Valley, and when our caravan passes through your territory, we hope Brother Han can look after us a bit."
Han Qingshan asked:
"Just this?"
"For now, yes."
Liang Shaoheng looked at him.
"As for whether to continue cooperating in the future, we can discuss it after the Xuanyang Sect is re-established."
Han Qingshan did not entirely believe it in his heart.
The Liang Family had a Legacy of over four hundred years; it was impossible for them to help four people without even a place to live for no reason at all.
Yet the silver on their bodies had already run out, and they did not even know where their next meal would come from. If no one helped them, rebuilding the Xuanyang Sect would just be empty words.
A Junior Brother came to Han Qingshan's side and said in a low voice:
"Senior Brother…"
Han Qingshan raised his hand to interrupt him.
He looked toward Liang Shaoheng.
"How does Young Master Liang plan to help us?"
"This is not a place to talk."
Liang Shaoheng turned around and looked toward the carriage.
"If Brother Han trusts me, please accompany me to Qinghuai Ridge first."
"When we arrive at the Liang Family, we can talk slowly."
Han Qingshan looked at the three Junior Brothers behind him.
The clothes on the three of them were already stained with mud and snow, and one of them still had blood at the corner of his mouth.
The silver on them had long since been used up, and if they continued to stay outside, even having a meal would become a problem.
Han Qingshan withdrew his gaze.
"We can go with Young Master Liang and take a look."
"However, regarding the matter of rebuilding the Sect, I cannot agree right now."
Liang Shaoheng did not mind.
"That is only natural."
He said to Uncle Zhong:
"Return their weapons to them."
Uncle Zhong picked up the long swords on the ground and tossed them to the four people respectively.
The three Junior Brothers caught the long swords, both somewhat surprised.
Liang Shaoheng took out a cloth bag from the carriage and handed it to Han Qingshan.
"There is still some dry rations inside, you can fill your stomachs first."
Han Qingshan took the cloth bag.
"Many thanks, Young Master Liang."
"Let's hit the road; we should be able to reach Qinghuai Ridge before dark."
Liang Shaoheng sat back into the carriage, and Uncle Zhong also returned to the front of the carriage, pulled up the reins, and continued the journey.
Han Qingshan and the four of them followed behind the carriage.
Walking a certain distance, a Junior Brother came to Han Qingshan's side.
"Senior Brother, are we really going to the Liang Family?"
"Let's go take a look first."
Han Qingshan lowered his voice.
"The Liang Family cannot possibly help us for nothing. When we arrive, speak less, and do not tell them everything about the Sect."
The three Junior Brothers nodded one after another.
While hurrying on their way, they shared and finished the dry rations in the cloth bag.
At dusk, the mountain road ahead gradually widened.
After crossing a mountain slope, a town appeared before everyone's eyes.
The town was not small, with carriages entering and leaving one after another. There were quite a few shops opened on both sides of the street, and many of their doorways hung the mark of the Liang Family.
Han Qingshan had only heard of the Liang Family of Qinghuai Ridge before, but had never been here.
The carriage did not stop in the town. After passing through several streets, it continued walking into the mountains along a bluestone path.
The further inside they went, the fewer ordinary people there were on the road.
Every certain distance along both sides of the mountain road, guards of the Liang Family could be seen.
Han Qingshan sensed spiritual power from a few of them; clearly, they were not ordinary guards.
The three Junior Brothers also saw these people's cultivation level, and a few traces of restraint grew on their faces.
Walking for another small half-an-hour, a cluster of connected courtyards appeared in the valley.
The courtyard walls were built along the mountain's topography, stretching endlessly at a glance. Eight guards stood before the entrance, and seeing Liang Shaoheng's carriage, they immediately cleared the way.
"Young Master has returned."
Liang Shaoheng lifted the carriage curtain and said to one of them:
"Clean up two rooms in the guest courtyard, and prepare some meals and hot water."
That person glanced at Han Qingshan and the four following behind.
"Yes."
Han Qingshan and the four of them were led to a guest courtyard.
There were three rooms in total in the courtyard, and although not large, they were cleaned very neatly. Before long, servants of the Liang Family delivered meals and several sets of clean clothes.
After the door was closed, a Junior Brother couldn't help saying:
"Senior Brother, this Liang Family is indeed not something the Xuanyang Sect can compare to."
Another person said:
"If they are truly willing to help, we might really be able to rebuild the Xuanyang Sect."
Han Qingshan sat before the table, not touching the meals in front of him.
"The stronger the Liang Family is, the more careful we must be."
The previous Junior Brother asked:
"But do we have any other way now?"
The room instantly quieted down.
They had searched for over a month, not only failing to find other fellow Disciples, but also spending all the silver and Spirit Stones on their bodies.
If they hadn't met Liang Shaoheng, they wouldn't even know where they would be staying tonight.
Han Qingshan picked up his chopsticks.
"Eat first."
"Whatever the Liang Family wants to get from us, they will naturally say it tomorrow."
"As long as we don't trade away the Legacy of the Xuanyang Sect, we can listen to the conditions they offer first."
The three Junior Brothers then sat down to eat.
At the same time, Liang Shaoheng changed out of his grey fox fur coat and came alone outside a courtyard deep within the Liang Family.
The people guarding the entrance saw him and hastily cupped their fists in salute.
"Greetings, Young Master."
Liang Shaoheng nodded and walked straight into the courtyard.
When Liang Shaoheng walked into the room, Liang Chengye had just finished Cultivating.
He sat on the futon to regulate his breathing for a moment before opening his eyes.
"Shaoheng, coming over so late, has something happened?"
Liang Shaoheng came close, cupped his fists, and said:
"Father, on my way back today, I encountered four Disciples of the Xuanyang Sect."
Liang Chengye looked toward him.
"Was the Xuanyang Sect not already destroyed?"
"The Sect is gone, but there are still Disciples alive."
Liang Shaoheng recounted the process of encountering Han Qingshan and the four of them.
The Liang Family had been expanding outward over the years, and many matters were planned by him.
Liang Chengye knew that this eldest son would not bring back four down-and-out Cultivators for no reason.
After he finished speaking, Liang Chengye asked:
"Have your eyes set on Qingshi Town over there?"
Liang Shaoheng did not deny it.
"Qingshi Town, Xianren Valley, the properties left behind by the two Sects, as well as the old mountain gate, Spiritual Vein, and herb garden of the Xuanyang Sect, are all in the hands of the Mo Family now."
"The Mo Family used to be nothing more than a Mortal Family, and suddenly obtaining so many things, they might not necessarily be able to hold onto them."
