124: I'm not a horse herder.

Gu Qiansha was slumped beside a broken stone tablet at the entrance, his clothes torn, his chest caved in, and un-wiped blood still clinging to the corner of his mouth. He trembled as he took out a healing pill from his storage ring, just as he put it in his mouth, he hadn't even had time to swallow it.

“Tap, tap.”

Footsteps approached.

Gu Qiansha stiffened all over, slowly raising his head, meeting Red Silk's eyes, which were as indifferent as ice.

Jiang Donghua stood beside her, looking at the Bone Sect's Sect Master, who had been so imposing just a short while ago, now as disheveled as a stray dog. A sense of absurdity welled up in his heart.

This was the law of survival in the Black-Corner Region!

Gu Qiansha forced out a smile uglier than a cry, his voice hoarse.

“S-senior, do you have any other instructions?”

Red Silk looked at him silently, then suddenly sighed.

“I let you off just now, but you didn’t cherish it.”

Gu Qiansha was stunned, not yet understanding the meaning of her words.

“Bang!!!”

His head exploded like a ripe watermelon!

Red and white matter splattered, and the headless corpse swayed, then heavily crashed to the ground.

Jiang Donghua’s pupils constricted, and he subconsciously took half a step back, his throat tightening.

“S-senior Sister?!”

Red Silk flicked off the blood staining her fingertips, her tone as calm as if she had just squashed an ant.

“In a place like the Black-Corner Region, the scarcest thing is a conscience.”

She turned to look at Jiang Donghua, the corner of her lips slightly raised.

“And coincidentally, your Senior Sister here doesn’t have much of it.”

Jiang Donghua swallowed, at a loss for words.

The night wind blew, carrying the smell of blood.

Red Silk said no more, turning and walking towards outside the city, her figure slender and cold.

Jiang Donghua looked at the headless corpse on the ground, then at Red Silk’s gradually receding back, finally letting out a bitter laugh and quickly following her.

Red Silk toyed with the pitch-black storage ring on her fingertip, her Soul Power scanning through it, her brows furrowing tighter and tighter.

“Tsk.”

She snorted coldly, casually tossing the storage ring to Jiang Donghua.

“See for yourself.”

Jiang Donghua quickly caught it, eagerly extending his Soul Power into it.

“What the hell?!”

Inside the storage ring’s space, mountains of white bones were piled up, terrifyingly, some even still bearing undried bloodstains.

The corners were filled with bottles and jars, soaking various dark red liquids, emitting a pungent, foul smell.

“Th-this is the Bone Sect’s treasure collection?!”

Jiang Donghua’s mouth twitched, he suppressed his nausea and continued to search, finally discovering several yellowed scrolls at the very bottom.

He had just revealed a look of joy when he unrolled one.

“Blood Bone Fusion Art”

“Blood Refining Technique”

“Blood Bone Secret Codex”

“All evil cultivation methods!”

Jiang Donghua’s face turned green. These cultivation methods either required live sacrifices or the use of infant skulls for cultivation; they were simply insane!

Red Silk glanced at him, speaking indifferently.

“Believe it now?”

Jiang Donghua gave two dry laughs, then quickly threw the storage ring back to her.

“Senior Sister is brilliant! Such trash really isn’t worthy of you!”

She looked at the faintly visible mountain range outline in the distance, then suddenly said.

“Do you know why the Bone Sect could only huddle in such a small border city?”

Jiang Donghua was stunned, subconsciously shaking his head.

Red Silk sneered.

“Because true experts disdain to use such despicable methods.”

A wisp of Lightning Light ignited on her fingertip, illuminating the path ahead.

“It's true that the Black-Corner Region is a place where the strong prey on the weak, but reaching the peak always relies on strength, not these crooked ways.”

The Lightning Light suddenly surged, reflecting her sharp profile.

Jiang Donghua's heart trembled. He suddenly understood that his Senior Sister's seemingly casual killings along the way were, in fact, precise and ruthless every time she struck, disdaining schemes and tricks, because under the thunder, all demons and monsters turned to dust!

Undercurrents surged within Blood Crow City. The news of Six-Star Dou Ling Gu Qiansha’s demise swept through the entire city like a storm.

Spies from various major forces were dispatched, attempting to piece together the truth of the matter.

“Have you heard? Gu Qiansha is dead!”

“What? That old schemer actually fell?”

“It’s said he was killed by a man and a woman. The woman crippled the Bone Sect’s Elder Yin with a single move, and Gu Qiansha didn’t even have a chance to resist!”

In the tavern, several Dou Practitioners whispered, their eyes filled with shock.

Meanwhile, in another hidden pavilion in Blood Crow City, several powerful figures were seated around a black wooden table.

“Have you found out? The woman’s background?”

A black-robed elder asked in a deep voice.

He was Gu Defeng, the Sect Master of the Golden Blade Sect, the second largest force in Blood Crow City, and a Peak Dou Ling expert.

A scout below knelt on one knee, respectfully saying.

“Reporting to Sect Master, there is no definite information yet. We only know that the man is about twenty years old, a Seven-Star Great Dou Master, and the woman is at least an Eight-Star Dou Ling, or even… higher!”

The scout paused, his voice unconsciously lowering.

“Hiss––”

Everyone present gasped.

Xueli frowned deeply, his fingers gently tapping the table:

“An Eight-Star Dou Ling, how could an expert of this level come to a small border city like ours?”

Another middle-aged man sneered.

“That idiot Gu Qiansha must have provoked someone he shouldn’t have!”

He was Xie Gui, the leader of the Poison Scorpion Gang, a Four-Star Dou Ling. He frequently clashed with the Bone Sect, and his tone was now full of schadenfreude.

Gu Defeng glanced at him, saying indifferently.

“Don’t be too happy too soon. Such experts act without scruples. Who knows if it will be our turn next?”

Xie Gui’s smile froze, a hint of apprehension flashing in his eyes.

After a moment of silence, Gu Defeng slowly rose, saying in a deep voice.

“Pass down the order: all disciples are to restrain their actions recently. If they encounter an unfamiliar man and woman, especially that woman in red, they are to retreat immediately!”

“Yes!”

Everyone responded in unison, then quickly dispersed.

Gu Qiansha’s death was like a giant rock thrown into the murky waters of Blood Crow City, stirring up countless undercurrents.

Those forces that had once been affiliated with the Bone Sect now defected, scrambling to divide up the territory, resources, and cultivation methods left behind by the Bone Sect. Even the Bone Sect disciples were hunted down to extinction.

No one mourned the dead; the Black-Corner Region only believed in one principle: only the living were qualified to enjoy the benefits.

“The Sect Master is dead, what do we do?!”

A Bone Sect disciple, his face full of terror, fled frantically.

“Flee? Can you escape?”

A Golden Blade Sect disciple grinned menacingly as he swung his blade down. Blood splattered, and a head rolled.

“The Bone Sect’s possessions are now ownerless. Whoever seizes them owns them!”

Members of the Poison Scorpion Gang rushed into the Bone Sect’s treasury, frantically looting. They even fought fiercely over a few bottles of pills, and amidst the clash of blades and swords, several more fell.

This was the Black-Corner Region.

One second, Gu Qiansha was a high and mighty Sect Master, with hundreds of disciples under him, controlling thirty percent of Blood Crow City’s resources.

But the next second, his head exploded like a watermelon, and his force crumbled in an instant.

Those who had once been deferential to him now didn't even bother to look at his corpse, only caring about plundering his inheritance.

The death of the weak was merely nourishment for the strong.

“An Eight-Star Dou Ling, no, perhaps even a Dou King!”

Gu Defeng, the Sect Master of the Golden Blade Sect, stood on high, looking at the gradually dissipating Lightning Light in the distance, his eyes filled with apprehension.

“Sect Master, should we send people to track them?”

An elder asked in a low voice.

“Track them?”

Gu Defeng sneered.

“Are you suggesting the Golden Blade Sect isn’t being destroyed fast enough?”

He took a deep breath, slowly saying.

“In the Black-Corner Region, for true experts, killing a Dou Ling is as simple as squashing an ant. Fourth-rate forces like ours, which don’t even have a Dou King, don’t even have the qualifications to negotiate.”

“Dou Huang experts fall in droves every year, let alone us?”

“Pass down the order: all disciples are forbidden from provoking those two. Violators will be expelled from the sect and will be responsible for their own life and death!”

The annihilation of the Bone Sect plunged Blood Crow City into temporary chaos, but soon, a new order would be established.

The Golden Blade Sect, the Poison Scorpion Gang… these forces frantically swallowed the Bone Sect’s resources, attempting to strengthen themselves.

But they knew in their hearts that they were still just the lowest-level ants in the Black-Corner Region.

True experts disdained to linger in such a small border city.

And Red Silk and Jiang Donghua had already left Blood Crow City, heading deeper into the Black-Corner Region.

That was the true Asura Field.

The weak struggled to survive, while the strong walked through blood!
