159: I want two women from you
Bai Xiaofeng leaned lazily against the palace door, his eyes hazy with intoxication as he sized up Jiang Donghua, a hint of cynical amusement still lingering at the corner of his mouth.
"Oh, Master Jiang, what business do you have? Is it worth you personally running over here in the middle of the night?"
He drew out his words, his voice husky with the effects of alcohol.
Jiang Donghua's gaze was stern. He did not get angry at the disrespectful attitude, merely stating flatly.
"I have business."
These two simple words carried an undeniable weight of authority.
Bai Xiaofeng narrowed his eyes, seemingly realizing that Jiang Donghua's visit was not a casual one.
He clicked his tongue softly. The fighting energy within his body quietly circulated, and the flush of intoxication quickly faded from his face, replaced by a clear, sober pallor.
He raised his hand to wipe away the wine stain remaining on his lip. His fingertips trembled slightly, and the scent of alcohol transformed into a wisp of white mist, dissipating into the air.
"Hoo—"
He let out a long breath, shook his head, and finally regained some of his usual shrewdness.
"Master Jiang, visiting late at night, I presume this is no small matter."
Bai Xiaofeng straightened up, his tone becoming slightly more serious, but a hint of scrutiny remained hidden in his eyes.
"Speak, what is it?"
Jiang Donghua did not answer immediately. Instead, he shifted his gaze slightly, glancing at Hong Yu and Bi Yao, who were still standing nearby.
Bai Xiaofeng followed his line of sight, frowned, and waved his hand impatiently.
"What are you two still standing here for? Didn't you hear that Master Jiang and I have serious matters to discuss?"
The two women trembled, quickly bowing their heads in response.
"Yes, Young Master."
Hong Yu secretly glanced at Jiang Donghua, a complex look flashing in her eyes, but she ultimately dared not say more. She quickly pulled Bi Yao away.
The sound of their footsteps gradually faded, and they quickly disappeared at the end of the long corridor.
Only after they left did Bai Xiaofeng lazily step aside to clear a path, making a gesture of invitation.
"Master Jiang, come inside and speak."
Jiang Donghua nodded slightly and stepped into the hall.
A strong scent of wine and perfume still lingered in the hall. The messy curtains, scattered wine cups, and unmade soft couch all testified to the recent scene of debauchery.
Bai Xiaofeng stared at Jiang Donghua's back, his expression gradually darkening.
"Could it be true, as Ninth Elder Qin Wuye said, that this Jiang Donghua intends to betray the Bai Family and defect to the Yao Family in Myriad Medicine City?"
The more he thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
After all, Myriad Medicine City was the Holy Land of Alchemists, and the Yao Family was a deeply established alchemy clan. Compared to the Bai Family in Heavenly Serpent City, it was indeed more suitable for the development of a Master Alchemist like Jiang Donghua.
"Heh, if I can't have it, no one else will either!"
A fierce look flashed in Bai Xiaofeng's eyes. His fingers inside his sleeve tightened slightly, and a wisp of white fighting energy quietly wrapped around his fingertips, ready to strike at any moment.
However, just as his killing intent began to rise, Jiang Donghua finally spoke.
"I want those two maidservants next to you."
Bai Xiaofeng froze, then couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Huh?"
He didn't immediately grasp it. He had so many women around him; how was he supposed to know which two Jiang Donghua was referring to?
"Master Jiang, your request is certainly unusual."
Bai Xiaofeng curled his lips playfully.
"I have many maidservants. Which two have caught your eye?"
Jiang Donghua's expression remained unchanged as he said flatly.
"Hong Yu and Bi Yao."
Bai Xiaofeng raised an eyebrow, finally recalling the two maidservants who had led the way earlier.
"So it was them?"
He secretly found it amusing. He had thought Jiang Donghua's late-night visit was for serious negotiation, but it turned out to be for two playthings?
"Master Jiang, if you like them, just take them."
Bai Xiaofeng waved his hand casually, his tone frivolous.
"They are just two maidservants. I have plenty more at my residence."
Jiang Donghua's gaze was deep as he slowly said.
"They are useful to me."
Bai Xiaofeng's smile faded slightly, and a trace of suspicion flashed in his eyes.
"Useful? What use could two maidservants possibly be?"
He suddenly recalled that Hong Yu and Bi Yao seemed to have overheard something earlier. Could Jiang Donghua be afraid they would leak a secret?
"Heh, interesting."
Bai Xiaofeng narrowed his eyes, looking at Jiang Donghua with a half-smile that wasn't a smile.
"Master Jiang, you can have them."
He said unhurriedly.
"However, I must know what use they truly are, mustn't I?"
Jiang Donghua did not say anything more. He simply cupped his hands slightly and said flatly.
"The two of them are different."
"Thank you, Ninth Young Master, for your assistance."
Having finished speaking, he turned and left, showing no intention of explaining himself.
Bai Xiaofeng frowned deeply, staring at his retreating figure, his mind churning with thoughts.
"Different? How are they different?"
He racked his brain trying to recall anything special about Hong Yu and Bi Yao. But after thinking it over and over, they were merely two of the more favored maidservants in the residence. Aside from being beautiful and knowing how to please men, they seemed to have no unique qualities.
"Could there truly be some secret hidden within them?"
Seeing that Jiang Donghua was about to step out of the hall door, Bai Xiaofeng finally couldn't help but speak.
"Master Jiang, wait!"
Jiang Donghua paused, slightly turned his head, and looked back with a calm gaze.
Bai Xiaofeng forced a smile onto his face and said with feigned concern.
"Those two cheap servants are just playthings; they haven't been pure for a long time. There are plenty of cleaner and prettier maidservants in my residence. Why don't I have someone go out and select a few virgins for the Master instead?
Why insist on them?"
Jiang Donghua's expression remained unchanged. He simply shook his head slowly and said.
"They are different."
Those three words again!
Bai Xiaofeng grew increasingly surprised and suspicious, and couldn't help but probe.
"Oh? Then Master, please tell me, how exactly are they different?"
Jiang Donghua's gaze was profound. After a moment of silence, he said plainly.
"They are very special."
"Very special?!"
Bai Xiaofeng's pupils suddenly contracted, and a thought flashed violently through his mind.
"Could they be Medicine People?!"
Rumor had it that the blood of people with certain special constitutions could be used as a medicinal primer, capable even of refining high-grade pills!
If this were true, then Jiang Donghua requesting them was likely not due to lust for beauty, but for some other vital purpose!
Thinking of this, a hint of greed flashed in Bai Xiaofeng's eyes, but he pretended to be relaxed and laughed.
"I see! Since the Master needs them, this Young Master will naturally fulfill your wish."
He agreed verbally, but had already made a secret decision in his heart.
"I must quickly investigate what secret these two cheap servants are hiding!"
Outside the hall door, Hong Yu and Bi Yao were waiting anxiously.
The two huddled close, their red lips slightly parted, their voices pressed extremely low.
"Why do you think Master Jiang came to see the Ninth Young Master late at night?"
Bi Yao's eyes were full of confusion.
"Who knows?"
Hong Yu bit her lip.
"But I have a feeling it's nothing good."
As they were whispering their guesses, the hall door suddenly creaked open.
The two immediately fell silent, stood up submissively, and dared not utter another word.
However, the first thing Jiang Donghua said as he walked out made them both tremble.
"Come with me."
"Wh—what?"
Hong Yu and Bi Yao abruptly looked up, their eyes filled with shock and confusion.
They subconsciously looked into the hall, only to see Ninth Young Master Bai Xiaofeng leaning lazily by the door, waving his hand carelessly.
"From now on, you two will serve Master Jiang."
His tone was light and airy, as if he were discussing a trivial matter of no importance.
"Remember, serve him well."
Bai Xiaofeng narrowed his eyes, a cold, sinister smile curving his lips.
"If you make Master Jiang unhappy, I will twist both your heads off and kick them like balls."
The women's faces instantly turned deathly pale!
Hong Yu's fingertips trembled slightly, and Bi Yao's breathing even stalled for a moment.
They never imagined that the Ninth Young Master would casually give them away!
"What? Aren't you going to thank me for the favor?"
Bai Xiaofeng raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with threat.
Hong Yu was the first to react. She quickly pulled Bi Yao down to kneel, her voice trembling slightly.
"This servant thanks the Ninth Young Master for his grace!"
"We thank Master Jiang for taking us in!"
Jiang Donghua's expression was indifferent. He simply nodded slightly, turned, and walked away.
Hong Yu and Bi Yao dared not delay. They quickly stood up and followed him.
The night wind was slightly cool. The moonlight stones lining the long corridor emitted a faint, cold glow, stretching the shadows of the three individuals far behind them.
Bi Yao secretly looked up at Jiang Donghua's back, feeling both frightened and confused.
"Why does Master Jiang want us?"
