127: The Ninth Son of the Heavenly Serpent City Lord's Winning Over

Red Silk trod through the long corridor with light, hurried steps, her red lips tightly pursed, a trace of vexation flashing in her eyes as she lowered her head to look at her meticulously prepared attire.

The sheer red dress outlined her graceful figure, her snow-white skin revealed tantalizingly. On any normal day, which man wouldn't be utterly captivated upon seeing her?

Yet today, she was unceremoniously dismissed by that cold-faced woman with a single sentence!

"Who does she think she is, acting so pure!"

She spat softly, her fingertips unconsciously tightening their grip on her sleeve.

She knew her worth all too well; she had been trained by the Heavenly Serpent Mansion since childhood, learning how to please men and how to extract information using charm.

If that Fourth-Grade Alchemist truly had an interest in her, Bai Xiaofeng would undoubtedly send her out without hesitation, perhaps even smilingly instructing her to serve the Master Alchemist well.

But that woman stood in the way!

Red Silk bit her lip, resentment seething in her heart.

The cold and beautiful woman's attitude towards Jiang Donghua, rather than being like a senior and junior disciple, was more like a fierce beast guarding its food?

What normal senior disciple would manage her junior in such a way?

Unless... a sinister glint flashed in her eyes, and a cold smile curved her lips.

"Heh, men, they always have moments when they can't resist."

She didn't believe Jiang Donghua was truly unmoved!

As long as she had a chance for private contact, she had plenty of ways to make him fall for her!

But for now, she had to report back.

Red Silk adjusted her expression, putting on her charming smile once more, and swayed her waist as she walked towards Bai Xiaofeng's courtyard.

When she pushed open the door, Bai Xiaofeng was leisurely leaning on a soft couch, his fingers toying with the blood-colored jade pendant. Seeing her enter, he lifted his eyelids.

"How was it?"

Red Silk curtsied gracefully, her voice soft and sweet.

"Young Master, the item has been delivered, but..."

She deliberately hesitated, her eyes slightly downcast, displaying a look of grievance.

Bai Xiaofeng scoffed.

"What, you got snubbed?"

Red Silk bit her lip and whispered.

"That woman was very cautious, she wouldn't let me say much at all, and just closed the door directly."

Bai Xiaofeng narrowed his eyes, his fingertips gently caressing the jade pendant, lost in thought.

"It seems that woman is not simple!"

Red Silk seized the opportunity to add fuel to the fire.

"Young Master, that woman controls the Alchemist very strictly; their relationship is probably not ordinary."

Bai Xiaofeng sneered.

"Oh? You mean?"

A hint of calculation flashed in Red Silk's eyes as she whispered.

"If that Alchemist is truly being controlled by her, perhaps we can help him break free?"

Bai Xiaofeng stared at her for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled.

"Interesting."

He reached out and pinched Red Silk's chin, his tone dangerous.

"You wouldn't be thinking of using this as an opportunity to get into that Alchemist's bed, would you?"

Red Silk's heart skipped a beat, but her face showed no emotion; instead, she pouted charmingly.

"Young Master ~ this servant belongs to you, how could I?"

Bai Xiaofeng released her, leaning back lazily, a playful glint in his eyes.

"Alright, cut the act."

He pondered for a moment, then suddenly said.

"Since that woman is so guarded, then let's try a different approach."

Red Silk's eyes lit up.

"Young Master means?"

A wicked smile curved Bai Xiaofeng's lips.

A trace of Lightning Light emerged from Red Silk's fingertips, lightly sweeping over the spirit fruits and spirit tea on the tray. Only after confirming there were no poisons or hidden restrictions did she let out a cold snort.

"At least they didn't tamper with it."

Jiang Donghua picked up a spirit fruit, took a bite, and the sweet juice overflowed in his mouth. The spiritual energy was abundant; it was indeed top-grade.

As he chewed, he mumbled indistinctly.

"Senior Sister, that woman just now said some Young Master wanted to befriend me. In this Heavenly Serpent City, there are quite a few influential young masters, who could it be?"

Red Silk gave him a sidelong glance and scoffed.

"What, you actually expect me to guess for you?"

Jiang Donghua gave an embarrassed smile.

"Isn't it because I thought Senior Sister is so knowledgeable?"

Red Silk rolled her eyes, leaned back in her chair, and said lazily.

"The Black-Corner Region is a place with complex forces. Who knows how many young masters there are under the Heavenly Serpent Mansion? Who knows which misguided one has set their sights on you?"

She paused, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.

"However, since they sent a gift and a seductive woman to probe, the main culprit will eventually reveal himself."

Jiang Donghua nodded, no longer asking further questions, merely picking up another spirit fruit and slowly munching on it.

The two waited patiently in the room like this. Red Silk closed her eyes to rest, occasionally with Lightning Light flickering at her fingertips, clearly not letting down her guard.

Meanwhile, Jiang Donghua idly flipped through the list provided by the auction house, muttering occasionally.

"This auction house has quite a few good things, but unfortunately, we might not have enough money!"

Time slowly passed, and just then...

"Knock, knock, knock."

The door was knocked again.

Red Silk opened her eyes, a cold smile curving her lips.

"Heh, they're here."

As the door opened, Bai Xiaofeng's gaze involuntarily fell upon Red Silk.

Her figure was tall and slender, a black dress outlining sharp lines, her eyebrows and eyes like blades, exuding an aloofness that kept others at bay.

Especially her eyes, indifferent and sharp, as if they could pierce directly into one's heart.

Bai Xiaofeng's Adam's apple bobbed, and a strong desire to conquer surged in his heart.

He particularly liked women like her: arrogant and cold, like an untamable wild horse.

What he enjoyed was watching them go from initial disdain and contempt to ultimately being manipulated in the palm of his hand, completely becoming his plaything.

However, now was not the time to think about such things.

He quickly composed himself, secretly thinking that this woman was probably just an accessory to that Fourth-Grade Alchemist, perhaps even just a kept plaything.

The one truly worth paying attention to was the Alchemist who could refine fourth-grade pills!

Thinking of this, he lightly coughed, a perfectly appropriate smile on his face, and slightly cupped his hands in greeting.

"I am Bai Xiaofeng, the ninth son of the Heavenly Serpent City Lord. I heard that a Master Alchemist has graced the auction with his presence, and I specifically came to pay my respects. I wonder if you would grant me the honor of a conversation?"

His tone was respectful yet carried the noble air of a scion of a prominent family, neither lacking in courtesy nor subtly revealing his status and position.

Red Silk leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, sizing him up with a half-smile. She neither moved aside nor directly turned him away, merely stating indifferently.

"Oh? The City Lord's son?"

Bai Xiaofeng's smile remained unchanged, but his gaze swept past her and into the room, clearly searching for Jiang Donghua's figure.

"Precisely. May I ask if the Master Alchemist is present? I have long admired him, and if I could make his acquaintance, I would certainly treat him with utmost respect."

Red Silk's lips curved slightly, a hint of mockery flashing in her eyes.

"Alright, then come in."

She stepped aside, making way, her tone casual, yet it inexplicably gave off a sense of danger.

Bai Xiaofeng's heart tightened, but his face showed no change as he stepped into the room.

As soon as Bai Xiaofeng entered, his gaze locked onto Jiang Donghua.

As Red Silk had said, this Fourth-Grade Alchemist was excessively young!

He looked to be barely in his early twenties, with clear features and a gentle demeanor, completely lacking the arrogance of those veteran Alchemists.

Good opportunity!

Bai Xiaofeng rejoiced inwardly. If it were one of those old monsters who had been famous for a long time, he naturally wouldn't dare to provoke him easily, but the one before him was clearly inexperienced, making him the easiest target to win over!
