36: Instructor Mo Xuan came to the rescue.

Jiang Donghua was surrounded by members of the Law Enforcement Team, his arms held by two enforcers, but his expression remained stern, his gaze like a blade sweeping over Chen Xiao and the other two.

Hearing this, Jiang Donghua slowly curved his lips into a mocking smile, his eyes filled with extreme disdain.

“Just the three of you wastes?”

He slightly raised his head, his tone cold and mocking.

“You can’t even take one of my moves, and you dare to spout threats?”

“You!”

Chen Xiao trembled with rage, about to curse, but was held down by the Law Enforcement Team members on his shoulders, forcibly restrained.

Instructor Lin frowned deeply, coughed twice heavily, her voice stern.

“Enough!”

Her gaze swept over both parties, her tone brooking no argument.

“The academy is a place for cultivation, not for you to arbitrarily engage in private fights, hold grudges, and seek revenge!”

She looked coldly at Chen Xiao and the other two.

“The three of you, you initiated the provocation, so your injuries are your own fault. Go back and recover. If you dare to cause trouble again, you will be directly expelled from the academy!”

Chen Xiao’s face changed, and he gritted his teeth, lowering his head, not daring to speak further, but the hatred in his eyes remained undiminished.

Instructor Lin then turned to Jiang Donghua, saying in a deep voice.

“Jiang Donghua, although you were passively retaliating, you used excessive force. According to academy rules, you must be confined for two months and have this month’s cultivation resources deducted!”

Jiang Donghua’s expression was indifferent; he merely nodded slightly.

“This student accepts the punishment.”

Seeing his calm attitude, Instructor Lin softened her tone slightly.

“I hope you all remember today’s lesson. If there’s a next time, I will not be lenient!”

She waved her hand, and the Law Enforcement Team members escorted Jiang Donghua away, while Chen Xiao and the other two were helped to retreat.

However, just as Jiang Donghua turned around, Chen Xiao lowered his voice, speaking with a cold, sinister laugh that only they could hear.

“Jiang Donghua... do you think confinement will keep you safe? Heh, just wait, soon... you’ll regret offending us!”

Jiang Donghua’s steps did not falter, and he didn’t even bother to turn his head, merely dropping a casual remark.

“No matter how many wastes there are, they are still wastes.”

Just as Jiang Donghua was preparing for two months of confinement, he unexpectedly ran into Instructor Mo Xuan, a Fifth-Grade Alchemist from the Alchemy Department.

Mo Xuan wore a dark robe with dark gold pill patterns embroidered on the cuffs, exuding a steady and reserved aura.

He was merely passing by, but his gaze suddenly fell upon Jiang Donghua, who was being escorted by the Law Enforcement Team. He frowned slightly, and his steps halted.

Seeing this, Instructor Lin’s expression tightened, and she quickly stepped forward, respectfully saying.

“Master Mo Xuan.”

Although she was a Law Enforcement Team instructor, the status gap between her and a Fifth-Grade Alchemist was like heaven and earth.

After all, only dozens of Alchemists in the entire academy could refine fifth-grade pills, and each one was an existence that even the academy’s high-ranking officials had to show deference to.

Instructor Lin was about to explain Jiang Donghua’s situation, but Mo Xuan had already spoken casually, his gaze fixed on Jiang Donghua.

“How did the Law Enforcement Team catch you?”

His tone was unhurried, yet carried a hint of playful teasing, a mere casual inquiry.

Jiang Donghua bowed his head slightly, respectfully saying.

“To Instructor Mo Xuan, this student merely had a minor conflict with someone; I did not commit murder or arson.”

Hearing this, Mo Xuan raised an eyebrow and looked at Instructor Lin with a half-smile.

“Oh? Then how did it escalate to the point of confinement?”

Instructor Lin’s heart tightened, and she quickly explained.

“Master Mo Xuan, although Jiang Donghua was passively retaliating, he used excessive force, according to academy rules...”

Mo Xuan waved his hand, interrupting her, and said indifferently.

“Young people are full of vigor; scuffles are normal. As long as no lives were lost, why make a mountain out of a molehill?”

Instructor Lin was momentarily speechless, her face looking somewhat unpleasant, but she dared not refute him.

Mo Xuan then looked at Jiang Donghua, speaking casually, as if being serious.

“Aren’t you helping me sort medicinal ingredients recently? If you’re confined for two months, who will do my work?”

A hint of surprise flashed in Jiang Donghua’s eyes, but he quickly reacted, lowering his head and saying.

“This student knows his mistake and is willing to accept punishment, but if it delays Master Mo’s affairs, this student would be uneasy.”

Mo Xuan gave a light snort, his gaze turning to Instructor Lin.

“How about this, the confinement is waived. Let him come to my place to do some chores as a form of punishment, how about it?”

Instructor Lin dared not refuse and could only reluctantly nod.

“Since Master Mo Xuan has spoken, it is naturally acceptable.”

Mo Xuan nodded with satisfaction and said to Jiang Donghua.

“Let’s go, don’t waste time here.”

Jiang Donghua nodded slightly and followed Mo Xuan, leaving the Law Enforcement Team members looking at each other in bewilderment.

The moment Chen Xiao and the other two saw the Fifth-Grade Alchemist Mo Xuan personally step in to help Jiang Donghua, their expressions instantly froze, and the original malevolence in their eyes was replaced by terror.

“A Fifth... Fifth-Grade Alchemist?!”

One of them’s voice trembled, his legs went weak, and he almost collapsed to the ground.

In the academy, what did a Fifth-Grade Alchemist represent?

That was an existence that even the Headmaster had to show deference to!

Let alone the three of them, mere One-Star Dou Zhe; even their boss, Chen Ming, had to be respectful in front of Mo Xuan!

Offending Jiang Donghua was equivalent to offending Mo Xuan!

And what was the consequence of offending a Fifth-Grade Alchemist?

At best, their cultivation resources would be cut off; at worst, they would be directly expelled from the academy, and possibly even have their cultivation crippled by some accident. Surely, any Fifth-Grade Alchemist with such a thought would have plenty of students willing to carry it out.

“It’s over... it’s over...”

Chen Xiao’s face was pale, cold sweat beading on his forehead, unable to even stand steadily.

He had originally planned to go back and complain to his boss, Chen Ming, and use his family’s influence to deal with Jiang Donghua, but now?

Standing behind Jiang Donghua was Mo Xuan!

No matter how arrogant their Chen family was, they wouldn’t dare to challenge a Fifth-Grade Alchemist!

“Quick... quick, let’s go!”

Chen Xiao’s voice trembled, not daring to utter any more threats, and turned to flee.

The other two were even more terrified, scrambling to follow, afraid that Jiang Donghua would turn back to settle scores with them.

“We must quickly tell the boss... this Jiang Donghua, we cannot afford to provoke him!”

The three fled in disarray.

On the other side, Jiang Donghua followed behind Mo Xuan, his expression still calm, but a hint of thought flickered in his eyes.

“Why would this instructor help me?”

He couldn’t recall ever helping Mo Xuan sort medicinal ingredients.

Mo Xuan seemed to sense his confusion, and without turning his head, he simply dropped a casual remark.

“Kid, don’t overthink it. I just don’t like seeing a few wastes bullying others.”

Mo Xuan walked ahead with his hands behind his back, and Jiang Donghua silently followed. The two walked through the academy’s long corridor, heading towards the Alchemy Department.

Mo Xuan suddenly spoke, his tone faint.

“What have you been doing these past few days?”

Jiang Donghua answered truthfully.

“To Instructor, this student has been hunting low-level Magical Beasts on the outskirts of the Magical Beast Mountain Range these past few days, honing my combat skills.”

“Slap!”

Mo Xuan abruptly stopped, turned around, and slapped Jiang Donghua on the back of his head. The force was neither light nor heavy, but enough to make Jiang Donghua stumble.

“Hunting Magical Beasts?!”

Mo Xuan glared, his beard bristling with anger.

“Is your brain jammed, kid?!”

Jiang Donghua was a bit stunned by the slap, but he still steadied himself and frowned, saying.

“Instructor, what’s wrong with this student practicing combat skills?”

“Wrong?! It’s terribly wrong!”

Mo Xuan puffed out his cheeks and glared, pointing at Jiang Donghua’s nose and scolding him.

“Do you know what your physique is? Fiery Fire Attribute with pure Wood Attribute, and your soul perception is far beyond ordinary people!”

“This kind of talent, even in the Alchemy Department, is a rare gem seen only once in a hundred years! But you, you’re good, you neglect your great alchemy talent and run off to risk your life with Magical Beasts?!”

Jiang Donghua was startled, not expecting Mo Xuan to know so much about his situation.

Seeing him in a daze, Mo Xuan became even more exasperated and angrily said.

“What is most important for an Alchemist apprentice? It’s identifying medicinal properties, familiarizing oneself with pharmacology, and tempering soul perception!”

“But you, you run off to fight Magical Beasts? Do you think you’re one of those brutes who only know brute force?!”

Jiang Donghua was speechless from the scolding, but deep down, he was vaguely unconvinced.

“Instructor, this student just feels that strength is the foundation...”

“Nonsense!”

Mo Xuan directly interrupted.

“Do Alchemists not have strength?”

“Do you know that the pills casually refined by high-level Alchemists can make countless powerhouses flock to them? Do you know that a true Master Alchemist can make Dou Kings and Dou Emperors bow their heads with just a word?!”

Jiang Donghua’s heart trembled, and a flash of understanding passed through his eyes.

Seeing the change in his expression, Mo Xuan snorted coldly, his tone softening slightly.

“Kid, talent is hard to come by; don’t waste it on trivial matters.”

“From today onwards, report to the Alchemy Department every day. This old man will personally teach you alchemy!”

Jiang Donghua took a deep breath and solemnly cupped his fists.

“This student will respectfully follow your teachings!”

Mo Xuan nodded with satisfaction, then turned and continued walking, muttering to himself.

“These young people nowadays, they really don’t know what’s good for them...”

Jiang Donghua looked at Mo Xuan’s back, a slight smile playing on his lips.
