161: There is definitely a problem.

Bai Xiaofeng leaned back in the wooden chair, his fingertips lightly tapping the armrest, a sinister smile playing on his lips.

After listening to the reports from Mo Tianhen and Yin Jiuxiao, he suddenly chuckled softly, his laughter tinged with sarcasm and amusement.

"You two!"

He shook his head, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes.

"Still too naive."

Mo Tianhen frowned, cupped his fists, and said, "Does Ninth Young Master mean that Master Jiang is lying?"

"Nonsense!"

Bai Xiaofeng snorted coldly.

"If he truly just found a random excuse, why bother to make it so detailed? Medicine People?"

"Heh, this kind of sinister thing, ancient texts did mention it, but how many have truly seen it? If he was just trying to fob me off, he could have just said he wanted to have some fun with this woman; why drag in other things?"

Yin Jiuxiao pondered for a moment, then said in a hoarse voice, "Ninth Young Master has a point. But if they really are Medicine People, then their value would be extraordinary."

Bai Xiaofeng narrowed his eyes, his fingers lightly stroking his chin, deep in thought.

"Ancient texts record that Medicine People must be tempered with secret medicine from a young age, soaking in medicinal baths daily until their flesh, blood, and bones are all imbued with medicinal properties, only becoming suitable for medicine after adulthood."

"It is said that refining pills with their flesh and blood can improve the quality of the pills, and even allow low-grade pills to break through their limits!"

A hint of greed flashed in Mo Tianhen's eyes.

"If that's truly the case, then wouldn't Master Jiang be able to refine pills far beyond his current level?"

Bai Xiaofeng sneered, "That's why he's so nervous, even resorting to fabricating a story to deceive me."

Yin Jiuxiao frowned and said, "But Hongyu and Bi Yao don't look like Medicine People cultivated from a young age. They've been in the Bai Family for many years; if they truly had special constitutions, it would have been discovered long ago."

Bai Xiaofeng scoffed, "Foolish! Do you think Jiang Donghua would be so stupid as to tell me the truth directly? Perhaps he secretly tampered with them long ago, causing their bloodlines to awaken at a certain moment. Or perhaps they are just catalysts for Medicine People, and the true Medicine People are someone else!"

Mo Tianhen and Yin Jiuxiao exchanged glances, both inwardly startled.

"Does Ninth Young Master mean Master Jiang is making a move?"

Bai Xiaofeng stood up, hands behind his back, pacing, a sinister glint in his eyes.

"If he truly just wanted two maids, why would I, Bai Xiaofeng, be stingy? But he insisted on fabricating a pretext, which means he doesn't want me to know their true purpose!"

Yin Jiuxiao whispered, "Then what do we do now? Directly snatch them?"

Bai Xiaofeng shook his head, a sinister smile playing on his lips, "What's the rush? Since he wants to act, I'll play along to the end. You two continue to keep an eye on him and see what tricks he's up to."

A cold light flashed in his eyes as he slowly clenched his fingers.

The more Bai Xiaofeng thought, the more irritated he became, suddenly slamming the table, making the teacups clatter.

"And what happened today!"

He gritted his teeth, his eyes shifting between dark and bright.

"Jiang Donghua stayed on the second floor of the Pill Heart Pavilion for a while! That Old Fox from the Yao Family has always been arrogant, not even necessarily giving my father face, so why would he have such a long secret discussion with him?"

He stood up and paced back and forth in the room, his boots making dull thuds on the green jade floor tiles.

"What did they talk about? He didn't tell me a single word!"

He sneered, "Heh, does he really think I, Bai Xiaofeng, am a fool? The Yao Family has been making frequent moves recently, openly and secretly trying to win over various Alchemists. If Jiang Donghua colludes with them!"

Mo Tianhen and Yin Jiuxiao stood by, not daring to breathe loudly.

They knew that once Ninth Young Master started talking to himself, he was truly contemplating murder.

Bai Xiaofeng suddenly stopped, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes.

"Tomorrow!"

He abruptly turned, staring at the two of them.

"Tomorrow, no matter what, find a way to bring those two wretched maids back to see me! Since Jiang Donghua treats them like treasures, they must be hiding something!"

Yin Jiuxiao hesitated, then whispered, "But they are currently with Senior Sister Red Silk; if we forcibly take them!"

"Idiot!"

Bai Xiaofeng interrupted sharply, "Who told you to snatch them? Use your brain! That woman Red Silk has a fiery temper, but she's not Jiang Donghua's dog! Find an excuse, just say I, Bai Xiaofeng, have important matters to inquire about. Can she really stop them?"

Mo Tianhen quickly nodded, "This subordinate understands! Tomorrow morning, this subordinate will go and retrieve them."

Bai Xiaofeng's anger finally subsided slightly, and he waved his hand, "Get out! Remember, don't alert the enemy!"

The two retreated quickly as if granted a great pardon.

The room finally fell silent. Bai Xiaofeng stood alone by the window, looking towards the distant Medicine Hut, his eyes sinister.

"Jiang Donghua, you'd better not let me catch you with any leverage."

He suddenly scoffed, shaking his head in self-mockery.

"It's truly strange, tonight I don't even have the mood to call for beauties."

He muttered, "These annoying, troublesome matters really are a headache."

After a moment of silence, he suddenly remembered something, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.

"Oh, right, Qin Wuye, that Old Fox."

He turned and walked towards the inner room, taking out a sound transmission jade slip from a secret compartment, his fingertips lightly stroking it.

"Ninth Elder, regarding tonight's events, do you have any insights?"

The jade slip flickered slightly, and after a moment, Qin Wuye's deep, hoarse voice slowly transmitted, "Ninth Young Master, this old man can only say that Master Jiang's act was too deliberate."

A cold smile slowly curved on Bai Xiaofeng's lips.

"Just as I thought."

While Bai Xiaofeng was still racking his brains to guess Jiang Donghua's intentions, the atmosphere inside the Medicine Hut was entirely different.

As Hongyu and Bi Yao stepped over the threshold, before they could even clearly see the furnishings inside, Red Silk's figure flashed behind them like a ghost.

"Hmph, two little hussies, you think you're worthy of coming in?"

She sneered, her slender fingers pressed together like a blade, swiftly and lightning-fast striking the back of their necks.

"Ugh!"

Hongyu and Bi Yao had no chance to react. They only felt their vision go black, their legs turn to jelly, and their entire bodies slumped to the ground like mud, completely unconscious.

Red Silk clapped her hands, looking with satisfaction at the two unconscious figures on the ground, a disdainful curve on her lips.

"This is much quieter."

She put her hands on her hips, the front of her robe slightly open from the movement, revealing a patch of fair skin that gently rose and fell with her breathing. She turned to look at Jiang Donghua, only to find his gaze casually drifting towards the door.

"Hm?"

Red Silk raised an eyebrow, her figure flashing, instantly pressing close to Jiang Donghua, almost bumping into his embrace.

She tilted her head slightly, her red lips parting, asking with a hint of danger, "What? Feeling sorry for them?"

Jiang Donghua's expression remained unchanged, and he said lightly, "Senior Sister is overthinking."

Red Silk narrowed her eyes, her fingertip lightly poking his chest, her tone a mix of teasing and warning, "They didn't do anything to you, did they?"

Jiang Donghua's mouth twitched almost imperceptibly, and he said, "Senior Sister, what do you think they could do to me?"

Red Silk snorted softly, withdrew her finger, and turned to walk further into the room, her tone languid but subtly sharp, "I wouldn't dare to assume!"

She suddenly turned back, her eyes sharp as she stared at Jiang Donghua, "You'd better not let me find out that you have any improper thoughts about these two little vixens!"

Jiang Donghua sighed helplessly, shaking his head, "Senior Sister, they are just tools."

Red Silk then turned around with satisfaction, and with a casual wave of her hand, a burst of fighting qi lifted Hongyu and Bi Yao from the ground, placing them on the soft couch beside the medicine furnace.

"Alright, hurry up and start, don't waste time."

Jiang Donghua nodded, his gaze falling on the two unconscious figures, a deep glint flashing in his eyes.

"I hope they won't be too scared when they wake up."

Red Silk scoffed, "Scared? Heh, they should be thanking the heavens they're alive!"
