89: Undercurrent

The entire martial arts space was silent, leaving only the dazzling white light.

"Who won?"

"I couldn't see clearly, did they tie?"

"Probably not. Leng Hanfrost is really powerful; she gave Ye Liuyun no chance to fight back."

"If you ask me, Ye Liuyun was just unlucky to meet such a monstrous girl."

"He was indeed quite unlucky."

Everyone looked at the screen in front of them and discussed animatedly.

As the light gradually dissipated, Ye Liuyun's figure had vanished, and only Leng Hanfrost remained in the martial arts space.

Although Leng Hanfrost had half her body crushed, she still stood firmly in the center.

"Leng Hanfrost!"

"Tianqi! Tianqi!"

"This is simply incredible; this woman actually managed a comeback from the brink."

Overwhelming shouts erupted.

Everyone looked at the scene on the screen, their eyes revealing an indescribable shock.

This was simply too incredible; Leng Hanfrost's strength was surprisingly formidable. This year's championship truly was interesting.

"This woman seems pretty good; she can switch between two professions at will, becoming both a lightning mage and a lightning warrior. That's quite interesting!"

"This is also the first time I've seen such a situation; it's indeed a bit powerful."

"If this were in previous competitions, this girl could at least enter the top five. It's just a pity that this year's Grand Competition of Heavenly Talents is different from before; geniuses are emerging in droves."

Whether it was the deans on stage or the many contestants below, all expressed their admiration for this Tianqi Academy student.

The white light faded quietly, and Leng Hanfrost stood before Ye Liuyun, her condition not particularly good.

"I, Ye Liuyun, concede defeat. I truly didn't expect your close-combat ability to be so terrifying."

Ye Liuyun struggled to stand up, cupped his hands towards Leng Hanfrost, a look of emotion in his eyes.

"Blame it on your bad luck, then. Thank you for the match."

Leng Hanfrost smiled slightly, then turned and walked off the stage.

Apart from the arena matches, there were only the individual battles between the various academies remaining.

They briefly recovered their spirits, then began the individual battle mode.

The results of the individual battles did not change at all; the academies that had won the team battles still emerged victorious.

However, the top nine academies, ranked at the forefront, basically all achieved the feat of defeating five opponents, which sufficiently demonstrated the gap between top-tier academies and second-tier academies.

"What did you say? James is dead?"

"How did he die?"

Jiang Lin looked at the man in front of him, his expression subtly changing.

"Killed with a single blow. As for who did it, that's unclear."

The guard commander cupped his hands towards Jiang Lin and spoke softly.

"Forget it, if he's dead, he's dead. Anyway, they'll send more people."

"Tell White Eagle Empire that James died in the dungeon. Next time, don't send such useless people; they can't even clear a dungeon."

"Also, burn their bodies to ashes. You understand what I mean, right?"

Prince Jiang Lin looked at the commander in front of him and spoke softly.

"Your Highness, rest assured, your subordinate will definitely handle this matter for you."

Upon hearing this, the man nodded lightly and turned to walk directly off the high platform.

Night gradually fell, and today's competition concluded.

All the team members from the various academies returned to their respective hotels, while the eliminated students packed their bags, preparing to leave.

"This is great! I just received news that that arrogant James is dead."

"This is truly wonderful news. Oh, Heaven! Oh, Earth! I wonder which esteemed individual took action to vent this anger for me."

"This is so satisfying!"

"I've been annoyed by that guy for a long time; he deserved to die."

The news of James's death immediately spread throughout the various academies, and these students were extremely excited, not hiding their joy in the slightest.

"This matter is quite troublesome. White Eagle Empire has always been strong. If their student dies here without a clear reason, they probably won't let it go."

Lu Mingqiu looked at Su Bai in front of him and spoke softly.

"So what? Are we, the mighty Meteor, afraid of a mere little white eagle?"

"Exactly! If they come one by one, I'll kill one. If they come in pairs, I'll kill two, until they don't dare to come anymore."

The members of Qinglong Academy rolled up their sleeves, eager for a fight.

"What are you thinking?"

Mu Yan looked at Su Bai and asked softly.

"I'm wondering who did this. The person acted so decisively, without holding back at all. An ordinary person couldn't do something like that."

Su Bai thoughtfully stroked his chin, pondering seriously.

This group of fourth-year prodigies is not weak and has seen blood, but only a few of them act so decisively.

As for high-level Transcenders, it's unlikely they would have taken action to kill James.

"Who cares? Anyway, that annoying guy is dead."

Mu Yan thought Su Bai was going to track down the killer and quickly said.

"You're right. It's none of my business. Anyway, I just need to get Qinglong Academy to the first position."

Su Bai pondered for a moment, then finally gave up the idea of wasting brain cells and went shopping with Mu Yan.

Meanwhile, in the temple of White Eagle Empire.

A man shattered the jade cup in his hand, his face looking exceptionally grim.

"Say that again?"

The old man said through clenched teeth.

James was his only son, on whom he had placed all his hopes, yet now he had died in a foreign land. How could he swallow this resentment?

"Young Master James unexpectedly perished during a dungeon mission in Meteor Empire. Sir, please accept my condolences."

The man knelt on the ground, a look of apprehension in his eyes, and quickly said.

"What utter nonsense! This is just an excuse made by Meteor Empire. Even if my son entered a dungeon, he wouldn't die so easily. He had countless secret protective items."

"Meteor Empire must have killed my son. I will make them pay for this blood debt."

The old man's face was contorted, like a fiend crawled out of the abyss, instilling endless fear in people's hearts.

"Sir, what should we do next?"

The man half-knelt on the ground, speaking respectfully.

"Has Zeus Squad not returned yet?"

"Send them to Meteor. Tell Zeus to slaughter all the prodigies of Meteor Empire and make them pay for my son's blood debt."

"And that top genius named Su Bai, send him to hell too."

This important figure from White Eagle Empire spoke each word, his eyes filled with killing intent.

"Yes, sir."

The man nodded and immediately walked out of the great hall.
