68: Shuangdao, are you also a fisherman?

The vehicle stopped behind a beach, with an endless, deep blue ocean stretching out before them.

Near the seaside, a house-sized blue vortex was constantly spinning and flowing.

Presumably, this was the entrance to Meihu Island.

At the entrance, many lightly dressed girls were running and playing on the beach, some posing to capture the stunning seascape.

It seemed this was not only an Otherworld entrance but also an excellent tourist destination.

“Splash, splash!”

The sound of the surging sea echoed in their ears.

Lin Shu and Wu Song got out of the car together, and a warm sea breeze blew against their faces.

The weather in Haizhou was excellent today, with a clear blue sky and not a cloud in sight.

“Let’s go, we’ll just head straight in.”

“There are hotels inside Meihu Island, it’s more convenient to stay there.”

He said, then quickly walked forward, seemingly a bit impatient.

Lin Shu saw this and quickly followed, his gaze surveying the surroundings, enjoying the moving scenery.

The weather was indeed good.

Upon reaching the Otherworld entrance, Wu Song pulled out his phone, displaying his registration qualification for the Meihu Island Fishing Frenzy Tournament.

Lin Shu looked to the side, where a wooden sign was erected, showing the start time and some details of the competition.

With the registration qualification, they were quickly granted permission to enter, and Lin Shu didn't even need to buy a ticket.

Stepping into the vortex once more, the dizzying sensation of spinning again washed over him.

Fortunately, he had experienced it before, so this time it was just a slight dizziness that slowly subsided.

After entering the Otherworld, they were met with a gigantic lake that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Its shape resembled a racetrack, and the sides were very suitable for fishing, with many people already there.

Scattered on both sides of the lake, they swung their rods, clearly all avid fishermen.

The lake water was crystal clear but bottomless, shimmering under the sunlight, and as the breeze blew, ripples spread across the surface.

“What a beautiful place,” Lin Shu thought to himself, seeing such a sight.

The atmosphere here was different from other Otherworlds; there was no sense of tension or excitement. People seemed to genuinely come here for a vacation.

He couldn’t help but marvel that a perfectly good Otherworld had been developed into a tourist resort.

On both sides, numerous tall buildings stood, all forty to fifty stories high.

The higher the floor, the more beautiful scenery one could naturally see, so these tall buildings were all large hotels.

“These guys came quite early, I hope they didn’t snatch my good spot.”

“Come with me quickly, over here!”

Wu Song was also a bit surprised to see so many fishermen and quickly led Lin Shu to the excellent spot he had previously scouted.

The two ran for a while, causing the nearby fishermen to turn their heads.

Five minutes later, the two finally arrived at a spot two kilometers away, where two crooked-necked trees stood, facing each other across the water.

Running such a long distance in just a few minutes, it was fortunate that Lin Shu had the physical feedback from his beast, otherwise, he would have been exhausted to death, though he was still a bit out of breath now.

Besides, there were vehicles available on the other side, so he didn’t know why they had to run all the way here.

On the other hand, Wu Song was as if nothing had happened; these two kilometers were as simple as a walk for him, and he hadn't even broken a sweat.

He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the fishing spot in front of him hadn't been occupied.

If someone had been in this spot, he would have had to “convince them with reason,” a method he frequently used.

The success rate was very high; no one had ever refused him so far.

This spot was indeed different; it was a small, inward-flowing branch, about five meters wide.

Lin Shu looked at the spot, not understanding if it counted as a good fishing location.

Wu Song quickly released his Double-Bladed Mantis and, from his spatial ring, took out all his fishing gear, preparing to start fishing.

The Double-Bladed Mantis, seeing the familiar surroundings, also perked up its Mental state, waving its arms and showing a human-like smile, not feeling unfamiliar with this place.

It quickly came to Wu Song’s side and began to act, one person and one beast, starting the preliminary preparations for fishing.

Lin Shu looked at the two fishing rods on the side, a bit surprised. Could it be that the Double-Bladed Mantis also liked fishing?

Moving quickly, he mixed a lump of black fish bait, made of who-knew-what, and cast it into the water.

Lin Shu knew this step; it was chumming. He then released Night and Terra.

Night had been quite stifled along the way, constantly transmitting its desire to come out.

Night looked around incessantly, seeing the Double-Bladed Mantis and Wu Song, but only gave them a fleeting glance before looking elsewhere.

Terra, on the other hand, stayed put, faithfully guarding Lin Shu, even though there was no danger at the moment.

Ripples spread across the water; it was a bite!

Seeing this, Wu Song and the Double-Bladed Mantis quickly grabbed their small stools and fishing rods and came to the shore, casting their hooks.

They waited quietly for the fish to bite.

Lin Shu also sat on a small stool, watching the lake with them.

“You watch closely, a big one is about to come up!”

“Be careful when you reel it in later; these big ones aren’t low level, they’re all level 15 and above.”

Wu Song whispered to Lin Shu while watching the lake.

This scene caused the Double-Bladed Mantis to show displeasure, its expression seemingly saying, “Be quieter.”

Lin Shu rubbed his hands. Level 15 and above? That was truly excellent.

This was truly a good place.

“Don’t worry, Brother Wu, aren’t you here?”

Wu Song smiled and nodded. “The young man is right.”

“Although the overall environment of this Otherworld seems calm and undisturbed.”

“However, this is a genuine small Otherworld.”

“Some dangerous species have simply been eliminated.”

After he said this, Lin Shu indeed hadn’t expected it. So this was a small Otherworld, not a fragmented one.

No wonder any fish caught here were level 15 and above.

One should know that a small Otherworld could give birth to beasts up to level 99.

In that case, it was no longer strange.

Night saw everyone squatting by the lake, watching, and, curious, also ran to the Double-Bladed Mantis to observe.

The Double-Bladed Mantis ignored Night; as long as he wasn’t noisy, it was fine.

Then, the fishing rod in its hand suddenly bent downwards, and a great force came from under the lake water.

The Double-Bladed Mantis remained unhurried, still holding the fishing rod with its arm and slowly lifting it with its other forelimb.

Although such a movement was not ideal for exerting force, it was nothing for the Double-Bladed Mantis, which was close to level 80.

It easily reeled in the hook, and a large black fish, about a meter long, was tossed aside.

Lin Shu and Wu Song also noticed this and quickly went to check.

The large black fish thrashed its body, splashing a lot of lake water. It was very strong, sweeping away stones and sand on the grass.

Clearly, it was very panicked at the moment and struggled to adapt to the land environment.

“Not bad, Shuang Ren, you actually beat me to it.”

“Consider yourself lucky.”
