7: Two-shift battle

The morning quickly passed, and in a blink, it was afternoon.

All the students of Class 5 walked out of the classroom.

For this class, Zhao Sheng led everyone to the Beastmaster battle arena.

This was the school's dedicated place for Beastmaster battles.

Machines for testing levels were also placed nearby, along with some equipment for auxiliary Beastmaster training.

"Don't rush to test your levels yet. I've arranged for Class 2 to come here for a battle."

"I wonder if everyone dares to take them on."

Upon hearing these words, the crowd immediately became lively.

Clearly, everyone had been thinking about this for a long time.

"Of course we dare!"

"We're here to fight the elites!"

"Let's go for it!"

These words ignited the students' competitive spirit.

They were all young and full of vigor.

At the back of the crowd, Lin Shu was also a bit surprised to hear this.

This was like getting a pillow when you're sleepy.

It was a perfect opportunity to test Blackie's current strength.

"You'll have your first battle soon. Are you ready?" he said, stroking Blackie's smooth head.

Blackie immediately understood Lin Shu's meaning.

He immediately crossed his front paws, adopting a battle stance, his eyes filled with coldness and danger.

He was expressing absolute confidence in his first battle.

Seeing this, Lin Shu was very satisfied.

He thought, "I hope the people from Class 2 are all strong."

If it ended too quickly, it would be too boring.

After all, Blackie was still a bit overpowered compared to other Beasts right now.

They didn't have to wait too long.

Class 2, led by Li Qiming, arrived at the venue.

They didn't immediately start by selecting four students for a team competition, as there were still so many other students.

It was impossible to ignore them; everyone in the class had to be treated equally, without discrimination.

Besides, an entire afternoon was long enough.

There was enough time for everyone to battle once.

Both sides lined up, and battles proceeded one on one.

The two teachers stood by, observing everyone's movements.

It could only be said that they were indeed new Beastmasters; the battles were full of surprises.

All sorts of unexpected things kept happening.

First, a change occurred on Class 5's side.

"Liu Yang, is this how you're a Beastmaster?"

"You can forget your Beast at home? Why didn't you forget yourself?"

Liu Yang hung his head in shame, feeling as if the sky had fallen. This incident would probably be remembered for a lifetime.

Indeed, many classmates behind him couldn't stop laughing, clearly very happy.

Seeing such a scene, Liu Yang's head dropped even lower. He was utterly humiliated.

Zhao Sheng's spittle flew as he spoke, completely enraged.

What in the world was going on?

The opposing class was no less chaotic.

A female student summoned her Beast, Coffee Cat, but she had no deterrent power as an owner whatsoever.

She couldn't command her Beast at all.

After looking around, Coffee Cat, with agile steps, ran off to who-knows-where along the front seats.

"Teacher, my kitty is gone... boo-hoo... kitty."

Crying and shouting, she came up to Li Qiming.

Seeing this scene, Li Qiming's face darkened. He had just been teasing Zhao Sheng.

Who would have thought that it would be his turn so quickly?

After spending some effort to find Coffee Cat, Li Qiming also spoke sternly to the girl.

Such behavior was very poor for a Beastmaster.

Fortunately, everything else proceeded relatively normally.

After each battle, both teachers would give some rather pertinent advice to their class's students.

"Find the right timing for your skills; don't use them so casually."

"And you, what kind of commands are those? Don't you understand the situation?"

Although Zhao Sheng was somewhat strict, he was indeed a responsible teacher.

It had been a few days since they contracted their Beasts, and now was the golden period for growth.

Most of their Beasts had reached level three, with a few at level four.

They had also put in a lot of effort into training.

Although the process had been a bit bumpy, the results were still good.

Everyone had learned something, more or less, and recognized their own shortcomings.

They would improve and relearn later.

Next up was the team competition.

This was the highlight of the day, and everyone was eagerly anticipating it.

Students from both classes sat around on the seats in the battle arena, awaiting the selection results.

Everyone was self-aware and didn't try to bite off more than they could chew.

They all knew their own strength, and the selections were made by the two teachers.

In Class 5, Lin Shu was, not surprisingly, selected.

The other three were the class monitor Huang Yian, Zhang Qi, and Liu Dong.

All three possessed elite-grade Beasts, and their levels had all reached four.

Their strength was very good.

Class 2 had two talented individuals selected, plus two students with elite-grade Beasts.

Their levels were also exactly the same, all level four.

Overall, their strength was almost identical, with Class 2 being slightly stronger.

But it wasn't an unbeatable match.

"Go Class 5! Go!"

"Go Class 2! Go!"

Cheers and shouts of encouragement rang out, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.

There was no scene of the two sides taunting or arguing with each other.

They even sat close together, discussing everyone's strength.

The teacher arranged the four individuals in order.

Huang Yian was first, Zhang Qi second, Liu Dong third.

Lin Shu was placed last.

Class 2's lineup was also complete.

The team competition was about to begin.

"Everyone, do your best, don't feel any pressure."

"It's just for entertainment. Just show your true strength."

Zhao Sheng sat on the steps, speaking rather casually.

In the empty arena, two people stood on opposite sides.

Within the magic circle, glowing patterns appeared, and two Beasts were summoned.

The two Beasts were a Flame Hound and an Inferno Chicken.

Both were fire-attributed and of similar levels.

This battle was quite interesting.

Lin Shu watched with keen interest from the side.

Blackie also propped his head up, observing quietly.

Neither side probed much.

It was a close-quarters battle from the start; at this stage, the levels were too low.

There were no tactics; melee combat was the best option.

The attack methods of both sides were surprisingly consistent.

The Flame Hound bit with its mouth, and the Inferno Chicken pecked with its beak.

High-level Beast battles often use the most basic offensive methods.

This was due to the low level, resulting in a lack of skills.

Both sides' attacks achieved good results, but unfortunately, the damage was somewhat lacking.

This was going to be a protracted battle.

At this point, Huang Yian cleverly changed tactics.

He utilized the Flame Hound's advantage.

Its speed to kite the Inferno Chicken.

This method was extremely effective.

The originally evenly matched situation instantly became one-sided.

The Flame Hound was known for its speed, and although the Inferno Chicken wasn't slow.

Compared to the Flame Hound, it was still far inferior.

Ultimately, after the Inferno Chicken lost its combat capability, the Flame Hound won the first match.

Such a performance could be considered excellent for a newcomer.

He fully utilized the advantages of his Beast.

"Strong! As expected of the class monitor."

"Go! Try to get another one!"

Behind them, the classmates watching from their seats also gave high praise.

Huang Yian also raised his arm to cheer himself on.

He also had the thought of taking down another opponent...
