175: Chapter 174 is over; I can't even speak properly in front of him.

Gu Qianqian closed her eyes and pressed her fingers firmly against her temples.

He was talking about the office.

He was talking about the office.

He was talking about the office.

She took a deep breath before opening her eyes, trying to pull her focus back to her work.

She sat down at the desk and turned on the computer.

Her eyes fell on the second paragraph of the third page; she scanned it for five seconds, but not a single word registered.

Gu Qianqian's fingers twitched on the keyboard.

She pushed her chair back two inches, tilted her head back, and stared at the ceiling.

This was unprecedented.

During her ten years on Wall Street, in Morgan Stanley's trading room, she could multitask even when numbers were jumping across seven screens simultaneously.

Now, sitting alone in a quiet office, she had been staring blankly at a document for ten minutes.

She turned her hand over and glanced at her palm.

Gu Qianqian clenched her hand into a fist and tucked it under the desk.

The office next door.

Qin Feng sat in the CEO office that Gu Qianqian had vacated, left leg crossed over his right, holding a cup of freshly brewed Da Hong Pao.

He had brewed the tea himself.

When Gu Qianqian had left, her face was flushed to the tips of her ears; she had likely long forgotten his request to "brew a cup for me."

Qin Feng took a sip of tea; the taste was quite good.

He opened the system to check the points breakdown.

Today, just from Gu Qianqian's emotional fluctuations alone, nearly fifty thousand points had been earned.

This efficiency was even more intense than hosting two livestreams.

"As expected, the breakdown of a strong career woman is the most valuable," Qin Feng mused to himself.

A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.

"Knock, knock."

"President Gu?"

The door was pushed open, and a young man in a gray suit walked in, holding a kraft paper file folder.

The moment he looked up, he froze.

The person sitting in the office chair wasn't Gu Qianqian.

It was a man he had never seen before.

Young, with sharp facial features, wearing a well-tailored dark gray suit; his wrist, visible from the sleeve, was bare and clean.

His posture in that chair was incredibly relaxed as he held a teacup and swept his gaze across the room.

That aura radiating from within made the young man's steps subconsciously falter.

"You... you are..."

"Who are you looking for?" Qin Feng put down his teacup.

"I'm looking for President Gu," the young man said, clutching the file folder to his chest.

"This is the penetration analysis data on the Wang family's offshore trust fund that President Gu asked me to organize yesterday. She said she needed it today."

Qin Feng's finger paused on the rim of the cup.

The Wang family's offshore trust fund.

He remembered.

Gu Qianqian had mentioned this on the phone yesterday. She said she had found something suspicious and would report it in person when he arrived in Jinling.

As it turned out, after the meeting today, first there was the shirt incident, then the walk-in closet, and then the "women all like it big" comment—this serious matter had been completely forgotten amidst their antics.

"Leave it here." Qin Feng reached out.

The young man hesitated. "And you are...?"

Qin Feng.

The young man's pupils dilated.

Qin Feng.

The boss of the Qinsheng Group.

The man who never came to the company, never inquired about business, and whose photo had only been seen on the cover of the employee handbook.

"P-President Qin!" The young man's hands were shaking as he handed over the file folder.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were here. I thought this was President Gu's office..."

"Mhm, she's next door." Qin Feng took the file folder and casually flipped through the cover.

"I'll take this over to her."

"Alright, alright. Thank you, President Qin!"

The young man hurried out.

Qin Feng looked down at the handwritten label on the file folder.

"Wang Family... Cayman Islands Trust Fund Penetration Analysis (Confidential)"

Tucking the folder under his arm, he stood up from the chair.

He walked to the door of the large office next door and, without knocking, pushed it straight open.

Gu Qianqian was leaning back in her chair, staring at the ceiling.

The sound of the door opening made her jump, her chair's wheels sliding half a foot across the carpet.

She turned her head and met Qin Feng's face.

"Why are you here again?"

The words blurted out, her tone rising sharply, the end of the sentence carrying a hint of reproach she hadn't even noticed.

It was the kind of tone that jumped out subconsciously after being startled—thirty percent complaint, seventy percent coquettishness.

The office fell silent for two seconds.

Gu Qianqian wanted nothing more than to bite her own tongue.

Back at Harvard, she never used drafts for class presentations; she would speak in clear, logically complete business English from the moment she opened her mouth.

At Morgan Stanley board meetings, facing a group of white male executives in their fifties and sixties...

She would use fluent English to tear their valuation models to shreds, without a single redundant filler word throughout.

In front of Qin Feng, what had she become?

A tangled mess.

An idiot who couldn't even control her own tone of voice.

Qin Feng stood at the door with the kraft paper folder tucked under his arm, his eyebrows raised slightly.

He didn't speak; he just looked at her.

Gu Qianqian's ears began to burn.

She forced herself to straighten her back, pressed her fingers against the desk, and brought her voice back down to a normal tone.

"President Qin, is something the matter?"

Qin Feng walked in and placed the file folder on the desk in front of her.

"One of your people just delivered this to my side."

"What..." Gu Qianqian glanced down at the label on the folder, and her pupils constricted.

The penetration analysis of the Wang family's trust fund.

She remembered.

When they spoke on the phone yesterday, she had told Qin Feng that she had found something very suspicious in the Wang family's offshore asset structure and would report it in person when he came to Jinling.

She had originally planned to report it right after today's meeting.

And the result?

After the meeting, she was first accused of making a mistake, and then immediately caught in an embarrassing state.

For the entire afternoon, her mind couldn't fit anything else besides those images.

Gu Qianqian felt like she couldn't even maintain her basic work rhythm in front of this man.

This feeling made her chest feel tight.

"Regarding the Wang family's secret offshore trust fund," Qin Feng said as he pulled a chair over to sit opposite her, tapping his finger on the desk.

"Didn't you say you had something to report?"

Gu Qianqian's finger paused for a moment on the file folder.

Her chance to salvage her image had come.

She took a deep breath, turned her chair toward the computer, her fingers landing on the keyboard as she quickly opened an encrypted folder.

"Look at this."

An equity penetration chart popped up on the screen.

Dense lines originated from the top-level Cayman Islands trust fund.

After passing through seven layers of offshore structures and three SPVs from different jurisdictions, they finally converged at the bottom.

Gu Qianqian's finger pointed to the box at the top of the screen.

"This is the trust fund the Wang family established in the Cayman Islands. The nominal settlor is Wang Chao's father, Wang Jianguo, and the beneficiary is Wang Chao."

She scrolled down the chart.

"Previously, everyone thought this fund was just a tool for the Wang family to hide their offshore assets."

Her fingertip slid to the third layer of the structure.

"But look here."

Qin Feng's gaze followed her finger.

Next to the SPV company in the third layer of the structure, a red asterisk was marked.

"This company, registered in the BVI, holds a sixty-one percent LP share of the trust fund."

Gu Qianqian's voice returned to the rhythm of a professional report. "According to the disclosure documents, the shareholder of this company is Wang Jianguo himself."

"But it's not," Qin Feng added.

Gu Qianqian's finger paused.

She looked up at him.

He hadn't even finished looking at the penetration chart, yet he had already guessed the conclusion.

"...Correct." Gu Qianqian withdrew her gaze and clicked on a document next to it.

"I had someone check the filing documents at the local registry for this BVI company."

A scanned document appeared on the screen, in English, with the signature at the bottom highlighted in a red box.

"The actual signatory is not Wang Jianguo."

Qin Feng leaned back in his chair, fingers interlaced over his stomach.

"Who signed it?"

"Still checking." Gu Qianqian switched back to the penetration chart, her finger pointing at the final node at the bottom.

"But one thing has been confirmed."

Her voice dropped half a pitch.

"The actual beneficiary of this trust fund is not the Wang father and son at all."

"The true beneficiary is hidden behind the sixth layer of the structure, holding the interest through a foundation registered in Liechtenstein."

"The beneficiary information for this foundation is at the highest level of confidentiality locally; we can't get it at the moment."

Qin Feng didn't speak, his gaze fixed on the complex penetration chart on the screen.

Gu Qianqian continued.

"That is to say, the Wang family appears to control this trust fund on the surface, but in reality..."

"The Wang family is the front," Qin Feng finished the half-sentence for her.

Gu Qianqian's fingers hovered over the keyboard, not pressing down.

Once again, he had snatched the conclusion from her.

This feeling of being crushed had never occurred in her professional career.

Gu Qianqian stared at the penetration chart on the screen, her fingers tightening around the mouse.

This man, Qin Feng, made her heart beat faster, made her fingers tremble, and made her commit the most basic mistakes in the work she was most familiar with.

Gu Qianqian's nails dug into her palm.

A sense of frustration she had never felt before rose from her chest.

Mixed with another emotion she was unwilling to admit.

Gu Qianqian closed her eyes for a moment, pushing down these messy thoughts.

"I will continue to investigate the identity of this third-party force." Her voice returned to being steady, but the knuckles of her hand holding the mouse were white.

"The current clues point to..."

She hadn't finished her sentence.

There was a soft sound from the chair opposite her.

Gu Qianqian looked up.

Qin Feng stood up from his chair.

He didn't sit back down, nor did he stop.

Rounding the corner of the desk, he walked toward her.
