39: Chapter 39 Entrance

This was the first interview Qian Mo had experienced, from his past life to the present.

He was a bit nervous and felt quite uncomfortable speaking to the camera.

But he enjoyed it, enjoying this youthful awkwardness that belonged only to youth.

Once the interview ended, he walked into the ceremony venue.

"Hello, unauthorized personnel are not allowed inside."

A staff member wearing a baseball cap with an ID tag hanging around his neck reached out to stop him.

"Sorry, I am also a prospective awakener participating in the Awakening ceremony. This is my paper certification."

As he spoke, he pulled a well-crafted paper card from his pocket and handed it to the staff member.

"Not from a Superpower school?"

The staff member's tone was filled with doubt as he unceremoniously grabbed the boy's arm and led him toward the venue office.

Seeing that he was about to be dragged away as a fraud, Qian Mo quickly spoke up.

"Can't you just see if my paper certification can scan open the entrance turnstile?"

"Fine, but I have to keep an eye on you."

To his surprise, the staff member actually agreed immediately.

However, he still didn't let go of the boy's arm.

"So that's what he meant by 'keeping an eye on me'..."

Qian Mo was somewhat speechless, but to enter the venue quickly, he allowed himself to be held like that.

"Beep!"

The green light on the turnstile lit up.

"This should prove I'm fine, right?"

"No, the turnstile has a hazardous materials detector. You go in first."

Without waiting for the boy to speak, the staff member yanked him through the turnstile.

"Woo~ Woo~"

The light on top of the turnstile suddenly turned red and emitted a piercing alarm.

"No hazardous items are allowed into the venue."

A pot-bellied middle-aged man walked over and gave a routine reminder.

"Did you hear what our supervisor said? Quickly take out the hazardous items you're carrying."

"But... but I didn't bring anything except my phone and this paper certification..."

Qian Mo was a bit dazed.

"Hey, Xiao Wang, don't make things difficult for the kid... it's possible the detection device misjudged."

The supervisor took a small sip of goji berry tea from his thermos and spoke slowly.

"Alright then, go through it again."

The staff member also stuffed the paper certification back into Qian Mo's hand.

Qian Mo sighed silently, resigned to his bad luck as he stepped out and came back in; this time, the turnstile didn't make a sound.

"See, Xiao Wang? Didn't I always tell you not to be so rash and to have more patience..."

"Yes... yes, you're right, Supervisor. I'll get back to patrolling then."

Having said that, he didn't even apologize to Qian Mo before turning around and disappearing into the flowing crowd.

"Hey! Remember to come out before the ceremony starts; you'll be docked pay if you're caught!"

Then the supervisor turned to look at Qian Mo.

"I'm sorry, little brother. I apologize on behalf of Xiao Wang. Usually, this young man is fine; I don't know what's wrong with him today... he probably has something on his mind. I hope it won't affect your Superpower Awakening."

"It's fine, Uncle. I understand. I'll be going then."

"Go on... I wish you a smooth Awakening."

Qian Mo walked toward his designated waiting area.

He glanced at the crumpled paper certification in his hand and sighed softly.

He had asked Uncle Yun to help him get this paper certification, and he had originally wanted to keep it as a souvenir.

"Sigh~ never mind..."

He found a trash can and casually tossed it in.

"It's useless now anyway..."

Shortly after Qian Mo left.

The supervisor noticed that Xiao Wang, who had just left, was walking back toward him anxiously.

"What's wrong? Found someone else carrying hazardous items?"

The supervisor spoke grumpily, clearly dissatisfied with his earlier handling of the situation.

"Supervisor, what hazardous items? I was just patrolling outside the venue. Some idiot stole my work ID while I wasn't looking."

"I searched outside for a while and had no choice but to come to you. What should we do about this?"

Xiao Wang said through gritted teeth, having already skinned that loathsome thief alive ten thousand times in his mind.

"You mean you've been outside looking for your lost work ID this whole time?"

"Yeah."

Seeing the supervisor's shocked expression, Xiao Wang was also confused.

"So... what's wrong..."

Just then, a Enforcer wearing a black cloak walked over.

"Thank you for your hard work. Time is up; you're off duty."

"Wait, Enforcer, one of our colleagues had his work ID stolen and his identity impersonated..."

"That doesn't matter. The turnstiles at our venue entrance are integrated with numerous security detection devices. Besides, you can't even get in with your work IDs."

"But..."

Without waiting for him to speak, the Enforcer waved his hand, and a massive, opaque blue protective shield descended to surround the entire venue.

"Wait! Wait!"

Suddenly, a young girl's sharp cry rang out.

A figure dressed in a white practice suit flashed before everyone's eyes, leaving behind a trail of fragrance.

A white figure beat everyone to it, pressing a gold card against the turnstile's detection area and opening the gate.

At the very moment the blue protective shield was about to touch the ground, she slid across the floor and narrowly squeezed through.

The protective shield fully landed, completely isolating the sounds inside and out.

Everyone stood there dumbfounded, not yet realizing what had just happened.

The supervisor's hand holding the thermos trembled slightly. But he kept reassuring himself: This is the National Superpower Awakening Ceremony with the strictest security; nothing should go wrong...

Inside the venue at this moment.

"Hello..."

As soon as the Enforcer spoke, his eyes were drawn to the white fox on the girl's shoulder.

It was leisurely playing with a card in its paws, which had a large character for "Special" printed on it.

"Special treatment subject, young girl, fox... Oh! Could you be..."

Suddenly realizing something, the Enforcer became instantly excited. Regardless of whether the girl was late, he pulled out paper and a pen from his pocket and asked her for an autograph.

Xiao Meng, who had originally thought the Enforcer would hold her accountable for being late, was suddenly at a loss when she saw this.

"Young Miss Xiao Meng, I heard you set a historical precedent for humans contracting with the Yao Race. I really admire you. Could you give me an autograph?"

"Ah... I..."

"Master, just sign it and let's go. We can't waste time here."

Hu Wang whispered in her ear.

"Okay, Xiao Bai."

After signing, she and Hu Wang walked to their planned positions and stood ready.

"Phew~"

Looking at the majestic Aura of the Viewing Platform before him, Hu Wang took a deep breath to calm his nerves.

"Little Xiao Yan, we are in position. It's up to you now..."
