98: Chapter 98 The Cautious Soldier

In a dense forest.

"Wah!!!"

The young girl's scream shattered the forest's original tranquility.

Following a few "crack," "bang," and "thud" sounds, Xing Yaoyan finally landed "smoothly" on the ground.

"Hiss~"

As the golden light on her body faded, Xing Yaoyan rubbed her still-aching head and slowly stood up, surrounded by scattered tree branches and large piles of fallen leaves.

Recalling what had just happened, she couldn't help but feel a lingering sense of fear.

The Teleportation Spirit Array on the side of "Peach Blossom Spring" was bidirectional, and she had also discovered that this Teleportation Spirit Array could transmit people out while simultaneously bringing them in; it wasn't limited to one-way transmission at a time.

Previously, she had placed the core she made into the Teleportation Spirit Array, but unexpectedly, the Teleportation Spirit Array had actually treated her core as an energy supply and simply "ate" it!

With no other choice, she inserted the original transmission core, only to suddenly discover that someone was waiting to be teleported on the other side, and their aura was extremely formidable.

Combining this with the recent disturbance at "Peach Blossom Spring," she didn't even need to think to realize that the person coming over must be Qian Wanyao's Master.

Actually, the current energy was enough for her to teleport out directly, but the transmission distance was limited. It was better to wait for this Teleportation Spirit Array to fully absorb the Power Of Will from the core she had made. This would allow Qian Wanyao's Master to come over and save the day, enable her to teleport a greater distance, and be safer as well.

And to achieve this goal, what she needed most was time...

So, she first left a Spirit Stone marked with a Swap tag in the Teleportation Spirit Array, then distracted everyone by feigning a Breakthrough, drawing their attention to herself to cover the final charging of the Teleportation Spirit Array. Finally, once the charging was complete, she used the previously left Spirit Stone to Swap.

Almost at the same time as the Swap, the Teleportation Spirit Array activated directly. Only then did she truly understand the true power of this Teleportation Spirit Array.

It could actually perform teleportation to a designated location within its range based on the amount of energy absorbed.

In other words, as long as enough energy was provided, it could send you to any place in this world!

And judging by the energy consumption capacity of Qian Wanyao's Master, she could directly use this Teleportation Spirit Array to teleport to the territories surrounding the Kingdom of Myriad Demons.

This forest was a place they had passed through when Sun Wu took her to the Kingdom of Myriad Demons last time. She was relatively familiar with it, which was why she ultimately chose it as her teleportation destination.

"However... looking at it now, this place seems to have changed a lot. I remember when I first came here, a bunch of little Spirit Beasts surrounded me..."

The White Wolf Girl scanned her surroundings in confusion.

Not to mention Spirit Beasts, there wasn't even a trace of lingering spiritual energy left.

Although she had subconsciously activated her concealment state the moment she teleported, she had made such a huge commotion when she landed that it was impossible for them not to have noticed...

"Did they all move away? But within a radius of hundreds of miles, this forest is the safest... where could they have moved to?"

Suddenly, a "rustling" sound came from the bushes not far away. The next moment, the color of the bushes appeared to distort briefly, and a few Spirit Beasts subsequently appeared in her field of vision.

"Chameleons? No wonder I didn't notice them earlier..."

She saw them run frantically and excitedly to the spot where she had just landed, kneel on the ground, gaze up at the sky with hopeful eyes, and growl softly, as if they were complaining to the heavens about something.

They couldn't see Xing Yaoyan, and Xing Yaoyan had no intention of exposing herself.

Because she sensed that the moment these few Spirit Beasts appeared, two malicious red dots suddenly lit up not far away.

Xing Yaoyan found a place to hide her figure.

Soon, she saw two figures wearing the same white robes as the group she had seen at "Peach Blossom Spring" slowly walking over from a distance. Their bodies exuded a pure Tier 3 Demonic Power aura, and they walked unhurriedly, as if they were cats playing with mice, enjoying the desperate expressions of the few Spirit Beasts not far away.

"They are demons, not Star Beasts..."

After verifying repeatedly, she didn't find a trace of Star Beast aura on them; these were two demons.

"But why are they wearing those people's clothes... Right!"

Xing Yaoyan recalled in her mind what the leader had said to her at the time—the Kingdom of Myriad Demons, no, that Tushan Qing had some secret deal with them!

Her mind was in chaos:

That group calling themselves the Star Cult obviously weren't good people, and since Tushan Qing was involved with them, didn't that mean...

Xing Yaoyan suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.

No, no, she couldn't jump to conclusions yet, but she would just have to be more careful in the future...

"Awooo! Awooo!"

The tragic cries of the Spirit Beasts pulled the White Wolf Girl back to reality.

She saw one of the demons take out a huge black cube, which looked like an improved version of the Black Prison.

And the familiar black Qi drifted out from that cube, enveloping those few Spirit Beasts.

As the black Qi entered their bodies, the Spirit Beasts were in agony. But soon, their bodies stopped trembling, yet the aura emanating from them became increasingly dangerous.

The next moment, they opened their eyes again, their eyes filled with a blood-red color flickering with a mad aura.

"Vicious Beast!"

But these Vicious Beasts were not as frantic as the ones Xing Yaoyan had seen in the Beast Arena previously; instead, they were completely quiet.

Subsequently, in her shocked gaze, they walked in an orderly fashion to the two demons and meekly lowered their heads.

"Sigh~ Wouldn't it have been better if you were like this earlier? You just had to trouble us for so long..."

One of the demons gently stroked their heads with its hand. With a flash of light, all the Vicious Beasts were collected into the black cube in its hand.

After she could no longer sense the aura of those two demons at all, Xing Yaoyan still didn't move, just silently counting down in her heart:

Three, two, one...

"Looks like he really left..."

"Indeed, maybe they were just passing by?"

A faint voice came from above her head.

The situation was indeed as she had expected; these two demons were not stupid. The commotion she had caused earlier was so huge that it must have aroused their suspicion.

They feigned leaving, but in reality, they were waiting for her to show herself.

"Passing by my ass. The alarm device I just set up in this circle hasn't gone off yet; that person definitely hasn't left."

Damn it, it's one thing for the villains to have brains, but are even the grunts this cautious? Is this still an alternate world? Are they all this smart?

Xing Yaoyan really had no way to voice her suffering now and could only keep staying in place, not daring to move.

"Hum~"

A sudden vibration came from her Spirit Sea.

Damn! I can't suppress it anymore...

Actually, although Xing Yaoyan had feigned a Breakthrough before, she had truly eaten the fruit she got from Qian Mo; otherwise, how could she have made the Star Cult people believe she was really going to have a Breakthrough?

And just as she was struggling with whether to just blow it up with them, two gusts of wind suddenly swept over her head.

Was she discovered? Well, nothing to be done...

"There's movement in the east! That bastard finally couldn't help it!"

Huh?

Watching their retreating figures, Xing Yaoyan was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly ran in the opposite direction.

"Although I don't know who that kind person is, I really f*cking thank you!"

The sounds of battle came from behind, but the White Wolf Girl's figure had already disappeared into the "portal" formed by those two towering trees.
