207: Chapter 207 Well

A voice squeezed out of the Black Tooth Chief's throat, "You... who exactly are you?"

Li Taiping looked down at him. "Didn't you just say it?"

"An outsider."

The Black Tooth Chief's teeth chattered. "An outsider couldn't possibly be this strong."

"Even the Sky Slaves from the sky don't possess such overwhelming pressure."

"And an Tide Return Envoy from the Black Sea wouldn't ask where the Tide Well is."

As he reached this point, his expression changed abruptly, as if he had recalled some terrifying legend.

"You're not an Tide Return Envoy."

"You are..."

Before he could finish his sentence.

Black water suddenly surged from his mouth, carrying a foul stench, as if something inside him had bitten off his tongue.

Grey Bone's face turned pale.

"The Tide Well's Silence!"

"He can't speak!"

Li Taiping's gaze darkened.

He raised his hand.

His fingers curled into a claw-like grip.

The black water inside the Black Tooth Chief was forcibly extracted.

Strands of black lines crawled out of his seven orifices, writhing in mid-air like living little snakes.

The Black Tooth Chief let out a scream, but it was short-lived and quickly stifled.

Li Taiping clenched his palm.

The black lines shattered.

The black tide remnant key vibrated gently.

It was as if it had tasted something unpleasant.

Li Taiping looked at it.

"Being a picky eater?"

The key went silent.

Grey Bone: "..."

The members of the Black Tooth Tribe: "..."

This outsider could even crush the Tide Well's Silence?

And he even complained it tasted bad?

Who could even fathom this?

This was no longer a question of strength.

It was as if the very rules of the Black Forest Land were being forcibly rewritten by him.

The Black Tooth Chief lay prone on the ground, gasping for air.

The Tide Mark on his forehead cracked.

Black blood seeped out.

Li Taiping asked, "Where is the Tide Well?"

The Black Tooth Chief didn't dare to be stubborn any longer.

He raised a trembling hand and pointed toward the depths of the forest.

"To the north."

"Thirty li."

"The Black Tooth Tribe."

"The Priest guards the well."

After speaking, a trace of resentment flickered in his eyes.

"But it won't matter if you go."

"The Priest has already invoked the tide."

"Tonight, the Black Forest Land will open the well."

"Everyone from the Grey Bone Tribe will be thrown inside."

Grey Bone's body jolted.

"What did you say?"

The Black Tooth Chief turned his head to look at him.

A bloody smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"Your little sister."

"She should be by the well by now."

Grey Bone's eyes instantly turned bloodshot.

He rushed over and slammed a fist into the Black Tooth Chief's face.

Bang.

The Black Tooth Chief's nasal bone collapsed.

Grey Bone wanted to strike again.

Li Taiping reached out and stopped him.

"Lead the way."

Grey Bone looked up abruptly.

He looked at Li Taiping with wariness in his eyes, but also a final glimmer of hope.

"You're going to save them?"

Li Taiping put away the black tide remnant key and looked toward the north.

The shadows of the trees there were even darker, and a damp, fishy smell wafted from that direction.

It was like the sea, yet not like the sea.

"I'm looking for the Tide Well."

"Saving people is just incidental."

Grey Bone was stunned for a moment.

These words were cold, yet they were more reassuring than any promise. After all, they were strangers; the man had no obligation, only his own goals.

He wiped the blood and ash from his face and picked up his broken blade.

"I'll take you there."

Li Taiping nodded.

Before turning around, he glanced at the remaining members of the Black Tooth Tribe.

"Do you still want to capture me?"

Over a dozen Black Tooth hunters shook their heads in unison, their movements absurdly synchronized.

The Black Tooth Chief lay in the mud, not daring to make a sound.

Li Taiping smiled faintly.

"Quite sensible."

He began walking north, and Grey Bone immediately followed.

Behind them, the shadows of the Black Forest Land closed back together.

But this time, the forest was no longer quiet.

The sound of a distant horn rang out once more.

Woooo—

The sound was lower, more urgent, and deeper, as if something had awakened in the depths of the Tide Well.
