187: Chapter 187

At night, after everyone finished dinner, the atmosphere was more subtle and quiet than usual.

The presence of Ah Yin was like a silent variable, affecting everyone's state of mind.

After the meal, everyone dispersed, preparing to return to their rooms to rest.

Lu Jing, Wang Donger, and Snow Empress also stood up and headed towards their rooms.

However, after only a few steps, the three of them sensed that something was wrong.

Lu Jing tilted his head slightly, glancing back out of the corner of his eye.

Snow Empress also seemed to sense something, her ice-blue eyes sweeping backward.

Wang Donger even stopped in her tracks and turned around.

Behind them, just a few paces away, stood Ah Yin quietly, still wearing that moon-white dress, her long blue hair draped softly over her shoulders.

She did not speak, simply looking at them with those pure blue eyes, especially... looking at Wang Donger.

That gaze did not seem like stalking, but rather an unconscious, dependent following.

Seeing this, Snow Empress's willow-leaf brows furrowed almost imperceptibly, and her cold, clear voice asked in a low whisper, "Why... did she follow us?"

Lu Jing also shook his head, his gaze falling on Ah Yin, then looking at Wang Donger, his tone tinged with uncertainty, "I don't know. Looking at her, it doesn't seem like she has any purpose; it's more like... instinct?"

Wang Donger looked at Ah Yin's clear eyes, which reflected only her own figure, and her heart stirred as she asked in a low voice, "Is she... coming for us?"

Lu Jing pondered for a moment, recalling Ah Yin's instinctive act of hiding behind Wang Donger during the day, as well as that faint, lingering bloodline connection, and he came to a conclusion.

He looked at Wang Donger, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness and certainty, "Maybe... not 'us', but 'you'."

"Me?" Wang Donger pointed to the tip of her nose again, a look of "it's me again," an almost reflexive expression of astonishment, appearing on her beautiful face.

How could she not escape anything?

During the day it was her explaining, it was her bringing someone back, and now the one being "tailed" was still her?

Lu Jing looked at her cute "it's me again" expression and found it somewhat amusing, but he maintained a calm face and shrugged, "How about... you try? Walk away a few steps and see?"

Wang Donger took a deep breath and closed her eyes in resignation.

Fine, I'll try it.

She stopped looking at Lu Jing and Snow Empress, turned around, and deliberately walked towards another corridor in the opposite direction of their rooms, her pace unhurried.

One step, two steps, three steps...

Sure enough, she hadn't walked far before she heard extremely light, cat-like footsteps behind her.

She tilted her head slightly and looked out of the corner of her eye—Ah Yin was indeed following her step by step, keeping a distance that was neither too far nor too near, her blue eyes still focused intently on her back, as if she were the only light source in the darkness.

"..."

Wang Donger stopped, and Ah Yin immediately stopped as well, still looking at her quietly.

Wang Donger turned around with a speechless expression on her face and looked at Lu Jing and Snow Empress, who were still watching the show not far away, using her eyes to convey the accusation: "See? She really is targeting me."

"What do we do now?" Wang Donger walked back to Lu Jing's side and asked in a low voice, her tone tinged with frantic frustration.

We can't just let her follow us all the time, right?

Lu Jing looked at Ah Yin, who had followed back step by step, then at the helpless Wang Donger, and then glanced at the still-cold Snow Empress beside him; several thoughts flashed through his mind instantly.

Finally, he shrugged and, in an almost roguish tone, offered a "suggestion" that almost made Wang Donger jump:

"What else can we do? Since you 'decided' to bring her back, and she 'chose' to follow you, then... just sleep with her tonight."

"What?!" Wang Donger's eyes widened instantly, almost thinking she had misheard.

"I sleep with her?! What kind of joke is that! I... I don't want to!"

Let her sleep with a stunning beauty who acts like a giant pet?

Besides, in Ah Yin's current state, would she kick the blanket at night?

Would she talk in her sleep?

What if... what if she suddenly recovers some memories in the middle of the night and starts asking questions?

Lu Jing looked at Wang Donger's resistant appearance, a look of helplessness on his face, and analyzed in a more sincere tone, "Then what else? Should we all four sleep together?"

As he spoke, he glanced significantly at Snow Empress beside him, his arm naturally wrapping around her slender, soft waist, pulling the cold and beautiful Snow Empress closer into his embrace.

Snow Empress was slightly startled by his sudden intimate gesture, her ice-blue eyes glancing at him, but she did not pull away, only her earlobes turning slightly red.

"You!" Wang Donger was so angry at Lu Jing's words and posture that her beautiful face flushed red, and she almost couldn't catch her breath.

The four of us sleeping together?

In your dreams!

This greedy lecher!

However, she was a hundred percent unwilling to sleep with Ah Yin.

But just as Lu Jing analyzed, there didn't seem to be a better choice.

Can't let Ah Yin sleep in a strange room alone, right?

What if she wanders around in the middle of the night or something happens?

And we can't really let the four of us sleep together...

That picture is too beautiful; she doesn't dare to imagine it.

Looking at Lu Jing's punchable "figure it out yourself" expression, and Snow Empress's posture—cold but clearly acquiescing to Lu Jing's arrangement—Wang Donger knew she was doomed tonight.

She glared angrily at Lu Jing, then looked at Ah Yin, who was still standing quietly to the side, seemingly unaware of all these arrangements, just focusing on her, and a deep sense of powerlessness and... resignation surged in her heart.

"Fine! I'll take her, I'll take her!"

Wang Donger said through gritted teeth, then turned around abruptly and said to Ah Yin with annoyance, "Follow me!"

After speaking, not caring whether Ah Yin understood or not, she walked angrily towards her room.

Seeing this, Ah Yin immediately took a step, obediently following, still maintaining that dependent distance.

Lu Jing watched Wang Donger's back as she went off like a martyr, and Ah Yin following step by step behind her, the corners of his mouth unable to help but curl into a triumphant, mischievous smile.

He tightened his arm around Snow Empress's waist and whispered into her ear with a laugh, "Let's go, Snowy, tonight... it's our World for two."

Snow Empress's ears turned even redder from the hot air he breathed out; she shot him a sideways glance with her ice-blue eyes but did not object, only gave a soft "Mn," letting him hold her as she turned and walked towards their room.

Under the moonlight, two groups of people headed towards two different rooms, also beginning two completely different nights that were destined not to be peaceful.
