67: Chapter 67: I never expected that the heir of the mighty God of Destruction would be so insecure when facing me.

The night sky, like a heavy sheet of ink-colored silk, slowly blanketed the silhouette of Heaven Dou City.

After the intense battles and arduous journey in the Sunset Forest, the group finally returned to this familiar city.

After a simple dinner at the inn, everyone returned to their respective rooms to rest, the lingering warmth of the meal and the exhaustion of the journey still hanging in the air.

In Wang Donger's room, steam filled the air.

She had just stepped out of the bathroom; a pale purple silk camisole nightdress outlined the delicate curves of her youthful figure, her fair, jade-like legs exposed to the air, carrying the moist sheen of a post-bath glow.

Her long hair was slightly damp, and droplets of water dripped from the tips, leaving faint traces on her collarbone.

She walked straight to the soft couch by the window, where Lu Jing was sitting, holding an ancient book in his hands, his fingertips gently stroking the yellowed pages.

Wang Donger sat down beside him naturally, bringing with her the fresh scent of a bath, and broke the room's silence: "What do we do next?"

Lu Jing set down the ancient book, reached out to pick up the teapot on the table, and poured her a cup of warm tea, the steaming aroma rising in swirls.

"What else can we do!"

His voice was soft and slow, carrying a hint of relaxation after fatigue, as he said: "Of course, it's to work hard to improve our cultivation."

Wang Donger took the teacup, her fingertips touching the warm surface, and couldn't help but roll her eyes, her tone tinged with a bit of reproach: "Don't I know we need to improve our cultivation? What I mean is, besides cultivation, isn't there anything else to do? We can't just keep our heads down and cultivate blindly, can we?"

Lu Jing looked at her slightly puffed cheeks, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes, and nodded: "There is something."

He paused deliberately, looked at Wang Donger's curious eyes, grinned, and asked: "Do you want a God Position inheritance?"

"A God Position inheritance?"

Wang Donger was slightly stunned upon hearing this, her action of drying her hair with a towel stopping abruptly, water droplets still hanging on her wet eyelashes, her eyes full of confusion as she asked: "What do you mean 'do I want'? Can a God Position inheritance just be chosen casually?"

Lu Jing shrugged, his tone calm: "It's exactly what it sounds like."

He leaned forward slightly, his gaze becoming serious as he reminded her: "You should understand in your heart that if we want to return to the World ten thousand years later, relying solely on the cultivation of a Titled Douluo or even a super Douluo is absolutely impossible. The strength of the space-time barrier far exceeds our imagination; only the power of a Divinity can possibly tear it open."

These words were like a pebble cast into the lake of Wang Donger's heart, instantly stirring up layers of ripples.

Returning to the future was the most urgent wish in her and Lu Jing's hearts after they traveled to this era.

But a God Position inheritance... that was a legendary existence; in ten thousand years, few had been able to become gods, and she had never dared to hope for it.

Wang Donger's eyes lit up, her body leaning closer involuntarily, her tone carrying a hint of urgency: "Since that's the case, can you help me obtain a God Position inheritance?"

Lu Jing, however, shook his head: "I cannot."

Wang Donger's expression darkened instantly, her little mouth pouting, cheeks puffed up like a teased kitten: "Then what's the point of you talking for so long here? Is it fun to tease me?"

She made a gesture to reach out and pinch Lu Jing's arm, but deep in her eyes hid a trace of imperceptible disappointment.

"Although I cannot give it to you directly,"

Lu Jing smiled and grabbed her wrist, stopping her movement, his tone carrying a hint of mystery as he said: "But I know where the God Position is, and I know how to find it."

"Really?"

Wang Donger's eyes instantly shone like stars, her previous reproach wiped away, and she asked eagerly: "Where is it? What God Position is it?"

"Sea God." Lu Jing spat out the two words, his tone calm.

"Sea God?"

Wang Donger's pupils contracted sharply, and the towel in her hand dropped onto her lap with a "plop"...

As if she suddenly understood something, she exclaimed, "Is it the Sea God Tang San's God Position?"

In the time ten thousand years later where they were from, Tang San had long been one of the masters of the Divine Realm, possessing both the Sea God and Asura God Positions, a legend of the entire Douluo Continent.

Lu Jing rolled his eyes helplessly and reached out to tap her forehead: "What does this have to do with Tang San? Don't forget our current timeline—this is ten thousand years ago, Tang San has only just awakened his Spirit not long ago; the current Sea God Position is ownerless."

Wang Donger finally realized, patted her own forehead, and smiled embarrassedly: "Oh right, it's ownerless."

The excitement in her heart was hard to suppress, and she asked again: "Then how do we find it? Lu Jing, do you want me to try?"

"Are you willing to try?" Lu Jing asked in return.

Wang Donger didn't even think about it and nodded vigorously: "Of course I do!"

Becoming a god would not only grant the power to return to the future, but also allow her to stand in a higher place and protect the people she wanted to protect.

How could she possibly give up such an opportunity?

Lu Jing looked at her determined eyes, suddenly changed the subject, and a mischievous smile curled the corners of his lips: "Then what benefit do I get?"

Wang Donger was stunned, as if she hadn't expected him to ask that, and blinked: "What benefit do you want?"

"I don't know."

Lu Jing deliberately drew out his tone, looked at her somewhat flustered appearance, and said: "But I want to hear what you have."

The atmosphere in the room instantly became somewhat subtle.

The candlelight flickered, stretching their shadows long and overlapping them on the wall.

Wang Donger's cheeks felt slightly hot, and she subconsciously lowered her head, her fingers nervously clutching the hem of her silk nightdress, her fingertips turning slightly white from the force.

She was silent for a moment, seemingly making some difficult decision, then she raised her head, her long eyelashes trembling gently, her voice as soft as a mosquito's buzzing, carrying a trace of imperceptible shyness: "I... I can allow you to pursue me."

Lu Jing's expression turned black instantly, as if he had heard something unbelievable: "That's it?"

He raised an eyebrow at Wang Donger, his tone exaggerated: "Are you sure this is a benefit, and not revenge?"

Wang Donger's expression also turned sour; she suddenly raised her head, glared at him, her cheeks flushed with anger: "How is this not a benefit?"

She raised her voice a little, with a trace of grievance: "Wasn't it you who said before that you wanted to pursue me? Now that I'm giving you the chance, you're still being picky?"

Lu Jing looked back at her righteously: "It's true that I said that, but the problem is, what's the use of being allowed to pursue you? What if you reject me in the end? Wouldn't my efforts be all for nothing? This risk is just too great."

Upon hearing this, Wang Donger was startled at first, then, as if she had heard something extremely funny, she let out a "pfft" and laughed.

Her eyes curved as she laughed, like two new moons, her previous reproach and grievance swept away, leaving only spirited slyness.

"So it turns out you're afraid of being rejected by me..."

She leaned forward slightly, getting closer to Lu Jing, her warm breath gently brushing against his ear, her voice carrying a bit of teasing, yet exceptionally pleasant to hear: "I didn't expect that the dignified heir of the God of Destruction would have so little confidence when facing me."

After she finished speaking, she could no longer hold back and burst into laughter, holding her stomach, her shoulders trembling slightly, the neckline of her silk nightdress slipping down slightly due to her movements, revealing her delicate collarbone, carrying the unique girlish innocence and radiance.
