28: Chapter 28, Section 28: Is this the Spirit Hall from ten thousand years ago?
In the gloomy waters at the bottom of the Lake of Life, Silver Dragon King withdrew her gaze only after the auras of Tang San and the God of Destruction had completely vanished. A hint of gravity still lingered in her purple eyes as she gently swayed her long tail, creating small whirlpools of water.
"Di Tian."
Her cold voice rang out in the water; it was not loud, yet it carried an unquestionable majesty that instantly pierced through layers of lake water and reached the surface.
Di Tian, who was deep in thought in the center of the Lake of Life, was jolted awake, his massive dragon body trembling slightly. This voice... it was the Master!
He could hardly believe his ears. The last time he had heard the Master's summons was during the war of the three Divinities ten thousand years ago. After that battle, the Master had fallen into a deep slumber and had not sent any message for ten thousand years. Waking up so suddenly now, could it be...
Di Tian had no time to think further. He quickly composed himself, his massive dragon body sinking as he dove into the lake like an arrow shot from a bow. The deeper he went, the dimmer the light became and the heavier the water pressure grew, but he dared not slacken in the slightest, diving all the way to the deepest part of the lake floor.
Before a stretch of water where one could barely see one's own fingers, Di Tian stopped. There was an invisible spatial barrier here; this was exactly where the Master slept. He respectfully lowered his dragon head, his voice filled with irrepressible excitement and awe: "Master, what are your orders?"
Inside the barrier, Silver Dragon King's voice came again: "What has happened in the Star Dou Great Forest these days?"
Di Tian was stunned, his heart full of confusion. The Master had been asleep for ten thousand years; why would she suddenly ask about these trivial matters upon waking? But he dared not hesitate, immediately reporting the recent events in detail—from Dragon God Douluo Mu En and the others from Shrek Academy breaking into the core area and accusing the Star Dou Spirit Beasts of kidnapping a youth possessing the Holy Dragon of Light Spirit, to the outbreak of war between both sides, the fall of Elder Lin, Elder Song, and Xian Liner, and then how they investigated the clues of the youth's disappearance, as well as the decision just made to release the news of Shrek Academy's heavy losses...
He spoke of every detail, trying to guess the Master's intention as he spoke. But even after he finished, he could not understand why these things would disturb the Master who had been asleep for ten thousand years.
Silence fell within the barrier.
Di Tian could feel that the Master's aura seemed to fluctuate slightly, clearly deep in thought. He held his breath and waited quietly, his confusion growing even deeper.
A moment later, Silver Dragon King's voice rang out again, carrying a trace of imperceptible gravity: "That youth with the Holy Dragon of Light Spirit, and the people who disappeared with him, can you truly find no traces at all?"
"Yes."
Di Tian quickly replied: "This subordinate has already let Bi Ji use her life aura to scan the entire forest, and even questioned every Spirit Beast over fifty thousand years old one by one. Indeed, there are no clues. It is as if... as if they just vanished into thin air."
Silver Dragon King's brows knitted slightly, a flash of confusion crossing her purple eyes. Holy Dragon of Light Spirit... missing... and the urgent search by those two Kings of the Divine Realm just now... Could there be any connection between these three?
She always felt that some key information had been overlooked by her. A King of the Divine Realm descending to the lower realm could never be a small matter, and could what they were searching for be related to that missing youth?
But the problem was, what connection could this youth have with those two Kings of the Divine Realm? It couldn't be that, just like the Sea God Tang San ten thousand years ago, he had also been valued by two Divinities.
This was too absurd.
"Master?" Seeing that Silver Dragon King had not spoken for a long time, Di Tian called out cautiously.
"It is nothing."
Silver Dragon King collected her thoughts and said indifferently: "You may withdraw."
After a pause, she added: "During this period, make sure all the Spirit Beasts in Star Dou act honestly. Do not provoke external forces, especially Shrek Academy."
Di Tian felt a chill in his heart and quickly asked: "Master, has something happened?"
"Just now, two Kings of the Divine Realm descended to the lower realm."
Silver Dragon King's voice was calm and waveless, but it struck Di Tian like a thunderbolt. He replied: "They seem to be searching for something, but their specific purpose is unknown."
"Kings... of the Divine Realm?!" Di Tian's voice began to tremble, and his massive dragon body could not help but shake. Although he was only one step away from Divinity, he was no different from an ant in front of a true Divinity.
Not to mention, they were Kings of the Divine Realm.
Although he did not know why the other party had descended, one thing was certain: the descent of Kings of the Divine Realm was absolutely a world-shaking event for the Douluo Continent and the Star Dou Great Forest!
Just then, Di Tian seemed to think of something. He suppressed his inner shock and terror and asked cautiously: "Master, your tracks... have not been exposed, have they?"
This was what he worried about most. If the Master's identity were known to the Divine Realm, the consequences would be unimaginable. After all, the current Soul Beast Clan relied entirely on Silver Dragon King. If even she were to get into trouble, the Soul Beast Clan would be completely finished and would never be able to rise, forever remaining stepping stones for humans to become stronger, because the Divine Realm had restrictions and did not allow Spirit Beasts to ascend to become Divinities.
"No." Silver Dragon King's tone remained calm. "Their goal does not seem to be me, and I have hidden my aura well; they did not notice."
Di Tian finally breathed a sigh of relief, the fine sweat on his dragon head instantly washed away by the lake water. He quickly and respectfully replied: "This subordinate understands! I will definitely restrain all Spirit Beasts and will never bring trouble to Star Dou!"
"Mm." Silver Dragon King responded softly, and then there was no further sound, clearly having fallen into silence again.
Di Tian dared not say more. He respectfully bowed to the spatial barrier, turned slowly, and swam cautiously toward the surface. Along the way, his mood could not calm down for a long time. Kings of the Divine Realm descending, the Master waking up—beneath the seemingly calm surface of the Star Dou Great Forest, undercurrents seemed to be surging.
...
Meanwhile, in the Douluo Continent of ten thousand years ago.
Two gorgeously decorated carriages were slowly driving into the gates of Spirit Hall. The carriages were pulled by pure white unicorns, and the carriage walls were inlaid with fine gems, shimmering with dazzling light in the sun; one look was enough to tell that the people riding inside were of noble status.
In one of the carriages, Wang Donger was leaning against the cushions, bored. She reached out to lift a corner of the curtain, curiously examining the scene outside.
What came into view was the magnificent Spirit Hall architectural complex. The pure white marble ground was mirror-like, towering spires pierced the clouds, and exquisite patterns were carved between the halls, revealing solemnity, majesty, and luxury everywhere. The Spirit Hall deacons and disciples coming and going wore uniform attire, their expressions respectful, their steps hurried.
"So this is the Spirit Hall of ten thousand years ago..." Wang Donger muttered to herself, her beautiful eyes filled with curiosity and emotion.
