29: Chapter 29 Update

If he didn't have a certain understanding of the beasts here, even Qin Yun would be confused.

The root cause is that, in the eyes of the beasts, heavy vehicles are simply too massive!

In their eyes, such massive objects that can move represent something powerful and terrifying, so they naturally flee at the first opportunity!

Let alone actively chasing them down to try and ram them.

Facing a pursuit by such a huge object, they would definitely run faster than a rabbit!

Even a Sharp-toothed Hyena, which specializes in hunting large prey, wouldn't choose something too massive, nor would it confront it head-on.

Furthermore, heavy vehicles are not flexible enough, and the visibility in the fog-filled areas outside the Highway is only one hundred meters.

It is too difficult to hit a beast!

I'm afraid the probability of successfully hitting one is less than one percent!

[*: I have tried many times, but as soon as the beasts see my doomsday recreational vehicle, they turn around and run into the thick fog. Plus, they are too agile, so the recreational vehicle can't hit them at all. Even if I get out of the vehicle, they will just run straight into the depths of the fog.]

[*: @*, I'm the same, I want to cry but have no tears.]

[Great Sage Sun: Do you have to drive your vehicle out? When I go out, I always leave my bicycle on the Highway!]

[Rainy Jiangnan: Great Sage is right. My vehicle is a recreational vehicle. After trying many times, I finally gathered the courage to walk off the Highway alone and was lucky enough to obtain a bronze treasure chest. Can you imagine the feeling when opening the treasure chest? It was truly tears of joy!]

[Great Sage Sun: Hahahaha, was it snot and tears streaming down your face while you were yelling and punching the air?]

[Rainy Jiangnan: Pretty much, pretty much, I cried like a child!]

[Contemporary Emperor: @Great Sage Sun, Great Sage, have you tried carrying your bicycle and walking forward? In this situation, will the countdown increase?]

[Great Sage Sun: How tiring is it to carry it? Isn't it less effort if I ride it? Alright, I admit I tried it at the beginning, it increases even if you carry it. @Contemporary Emperor, you Emperor are quite wicked.]

[*: So the bicycle has such an advantage, there's no need to worry about the energy problem.]

[Great Sage Sun: In this place, how can two wheels compare to four? My total sleep time over these past few days adds up to less than 5 hours.]

[*: Don't think I don't know, for those whose vehicle is a bicycle, the "pedaling forward" function has been added, and your bicycle also has an extra "riding" function, so the advantage is not small.]

[*: After the beginner adaptation period ends, it might just become a disadvantage!]

...

Qin Yun could already imagine that as the energy problem emerges, more and more Survivors will lose the Highway!

And the result of losing the Highway...

Qin Yun turned his head to look at the fog-filled area outside the Highway.

"Meow?"

Cat Xiaoxiao, noticing that Qin Yun had been staring outside the Highway, meowed to express her concern.

"I'm fine, just thinking about some problems."

"Xiaoxiao, stand up first. After I put this on you, focus your attention on the space ring for three seconds and think about claiming ownership, and you will know how to use it."

Qin Yun pulled the ox tendon, and put the primary space ring around Cat Xiaoxiao's neck.

Cat Xiaoxiao didn't claim ownership immediately; instead, she remained standing and then tilted her cat head to nudge Qin Yun's neck.

Her master was so good to her; she didn't know how to repay him.

"Good girl, hurry up and claim ownership to try it out, and by the way, see what is still missing inside the space ring."

Although Qin Yun had put quite a few things into the primary space ring, compared to the 27 cubic meters of space, it was still a bit empty.

Time was still too short; he could only prepare more in the future.

"Meow!"

Having successfully claimed ownership of the primary space ring, Cat Xiaoxiao shook her cat head, indicating that nothing was missing inside.

Just as Qin Yun was preparing to have Qin Xiaoqi record useful information, that emotionless voice resounded in his mind once again!

The time was exactly nine o'clock in the evening!

[The survivor panel has completed its update!]

[Please upgrade your vehicles as soon as possible!]

[The quest function will be enabled in twenty-one hours!]

[The beginner adaptation period will end in eighty-one hours!]

[Strive to become stronger; there are more surprises waiting for you ahead!]

Surprises?

For most Survivors, I'm afraid it's more like shocks!

Qin Yun was neither scared nor shocked!

On the contrary, the end time of the beginner adaptation period was much later than he had expected!

This was actually good news for him!

With three full days, even if he maintained the same level of gains as today, he could quickly complete his accumulation and make himself even stronger!

The only thing he regretted was that he hadn't obtained a vehicle upgrade stone (tricycle) today!

Tomorrow, tomorrow's goal is to upgrade the electric vehicle to a tricycle!

And it must be completed before six o'clock in the evening!

Because the quest function will be enabled tomorrow at six o'clock in the evening!

If the quests can be freely chosen whether to accept or not, then that's fine.

But if they must be accepted, then there would be quite a lot of uncertainty!

After pondering for a moment, Qin Yun shook his head and opened the vehicle category on the survivor panel with a thought.

An upgrade condition had been added to the vehicle category, and the chains surrounding the upgrade button had also disappeared!

Sure enough, asking us to upgrade our vehicles as soon as possible meant that it had been unlocked!

Qin Yun's heart stirred, and he clicked on the upgrade conditions.

Must be equipped with at least one common device, vehicle blueprint (tricycle), vehicle upgrade stone (tricycle), 300 units of any metal, 100 units of energy, and 100 copper coins!

The conditions were almost the same as the hint suggested by the Eye of Insight entry!

Qin Yun focused his attention on "any metal".

Information came through.

300 units of any metal does not mean 600 jin of a single type of metal, but any number of types is fine, as long as they add up to 600 jin!

At the same time, the quality of the metal will not affect the quality of the vehicle after the upgrade!

The only thing missing is the vehicle upgrade stone (tricycle)!

Since the vehicle blueprint (tricycle) can be opened from a bronze treasure chest, then the vehicle upgrade stone (tricycle) must also be able to be opened from a treasure chest!

"Xiaoxiao, Xiao Qi, the beginner adaptation period will end in eighty-one hours, which is 6:00 AM on the seventh day. Tomorrow at 6:00 PM, the quest function will be enabled!"

Qin Yun took a sip of ox horn powder water and continued: "Vehicle upgrades have been unlocked, and an upgrade condition has been added to the category. We are now only missing the vehicle upgrade stone to upgrade the electric vehicle into a tricycle!"

Cat Xiaoxiao, who was familiarizing herself with the space ring in the front seat, stopped. While listening quietly, she nodded her cat head in a decent manner, indicating that she had memorized it all.

"Master, we were able to obtain the vehicle blueprint from a bronze treasure chest, so presumably the vehicle upgrade stone can also be obtained from one. Since the quest function will be enabled tomorrow at 6:00 PM, Xiao Qi suggests that the main goal for tomorrow daytime is to search for treasure chests and finish the vehicle upgrade before 6:00 PM as much as possible!"

"That's what I think too."

Qin Yun nodded, indicating his agreement.

"I don't know if there are any other updates to the survivor panel. I'll go take a look, and also see the reactions of other Survivors. Xiao Qi, you teach Xiaoxiao how to read first."

"Rest assured, Master!"

"Meow!"

Qin Yun patted the furry cat head, then leaned back against the water condenser and opened the survivor panel.

Sure enough, there were other updates!
