45: Chapter 45 Unlocked

If someone were to ask Qin Yun right now whether the Global Survival World was better, or the Blue Star from before.

He would answer earnestly.

For those about to lose their lives, the Blue Star from before was definitely better.

As for him, naturally, both are good; the Blue Star was good, but the current Global Survival World is even better!

Qin Yun is an honest person.

He asked Cat Xiaoxiao, "Xiaoxiao, do you think the Blue Star from before was better, or is the current Global Survival World better?"

Cat Xiaoxiao swallowed the Red-eyed Rabbit meat in her mouth, looked up at Qin Yun, and meowed.

The meaning she expressed was very simple: wherever she could stay by her master's side, that place was the best.

"Xiaoxiao is truly getting smarter and smarter."

Qin Yun gently pinched her perked-up cat ear and stroked her cat head.

Cat Xiaoxiao did not dodge at all, just twitched her cat ears while meowing.

He didn't know if other Survivors' pets were as smart and well-behaved as Cat Xiaoxiao.

"You all continue eating, don't worry about me."

Qin Yun took a sip of the ox horn powder water and focused his attention on his mind.

With only the last twenty seconds remaining until six o'clock, he was already prepared for that emotionless voice to resound in his mind once again!

It wasn't just him; other surviving Survivors were also prepared.

Everyone wanted to learn about the newly added task function at the first opportunity to see if it was mandatory to accept, or if they could freely choose whether to accept!

Twenty seconds passed, and the time reached exactly six o'clock.

[Task function has been activated!]

[Coin function has been unlocked!]

[More restrictions have been lifted!]

[Novice adaptation period will end in sixty hours!]

[Please strive to adapt and forge ahead!]

The voice disappeared. As Qin Yun noted down this information, he also said, "Xiao Qi, write these words down: Task function has..."

After speaking, he took a copper coin from his space ring and triggered the Eye of Insight entry.

The moment the copper coin was in his hand, he learned its function!

The basic information transmitted by the Eye of Insight was also a bit more than before!

Basic information: Copper coin, the lowest-level currency in the Global Survival World. It contains only extremely weak spiritual energy that living beings cannot absorb, but it can be converted into 1 unit of energy!

Qin Yun didn't know about other changes yet, but the fact that 1 copper coin could be converted into 1 unit of energy was definitely very friendly news for them!

Added to the 3926 coins harvested today, the copper coins they currently possessed had reached 4293!

If they were all converted into energy, that would be 4293 units!

For Highway Survivors like them who relied on vehicles, energy represented a sense of security; the more energy they had, the greater their sense of security!

Qin Yun looked at Cat Xiaoxiao and Filia, who had stopped eating and drinking and had been paying attention, and said with a smile, "I have good news for everyone: one copper coin can be converted into 1 unit of energy, and we have over four thousand copper coins!"

Undoubtedly, Cat Xiaoxiao, Qin Xiaoqi, and Filia, who all knew the importance of energy, showed excitement and happiness after hearing this news!

Especially Cat Xiaoxiao; she meowed loudly and then gobbled up a big mouthful of Red-eyed Rabbit meat.

Her way of thinking was simple: eat when happy, and she would become even happier; eat when unhappy, and she would no longer be unhappy.

"Master, originally at exactly six o'clock, Xiao Qi discovered some not-so-good news, but now that we know copper coins can be converted into energy, this not-so-good news doesn't matter anymore!"

Qin Yun looked at the screen in the carriage and asked, "What did you discover?"

Cat Xiaoxiao and Filia also looked at the screen together.

"Everyone look, this is the footage before six o'clock; everything is normal, but after the time reached six o'clock..." Qin Xiaoqi's voice sounded, and at the same time, the image on the screen changed, switching to the tricycle driving on the Highway and the road behind the vehicle.

A mass of blood-red dense fog appeared out of thin air on the Highway behind the tricycle!

The Highway was also being corroded by the newly appeared red fog, until it disappeared!

Even after the tricycle stopped, the red fog was still corroding the Highway!

Before, when the vehicle stopped or left, there wouldn't be any changes to the Highway. Now, stopping would cause it to be corroded by the red fog, so what about leaving?

Qin Yun observed intently, triggered the Eye of Insight entry, and then said, "Xiao Qi, leave the Highway briefly to see what changes occur. Set the fog dispeller and scanning detector to maximum. Send the drone behind the red fog; do not touch the red fog, as it can corrode the vast majority of materials!"

"Alright, Master."

The information obtained through the Eye of Insight entry was relatively simple.

The basic information is that the red fog can corrode the vast majority of materials, and the suggested advice is to stay away from the red fog, otherwise not even dregs will be left!

The tricycle had already left the Highway.

However, whether looking at the screen or opening the carriage door to look directly with the naked eye, the red fog behind the Highway had not disappeared, nor had it stopped corroding!

The good news within the bad news is that the red fog always exists at the very back of the Highway and will not dissipate outside as the Highway disappears!

"Xiao Qi, return to the Highway and gradually increase the forward speed to see if there will be any changes in the corrosion speed of the red fog!"

"Yes!"

The tricycle returned to the Highway and gradually increased its driving speed.

There was no change; the red fog was still corroding the Highway at a relatively slow speed.

It wasn't terrible, at least not for them.

Because as long as they had enough energy, the impact of the red fog corroding the Highway wouldn't be significant.

No wonder Qin Xiaoqi said this bad news didn't matter.

Of course, there was still some impact.

For example, if they leave the Highway tomorrow to clear out Gold-eating Ants, the Highway will not remain unchanged as before, but will be constantly corroded by the red fog, and they will consume more time returning!

This also meant that when Survivors explored outside for a day and prepared to return to the Highway, they could no longer return along the same path, but would have to travel a longer distance!

The key point is that the risk of getting lost has greatly increased!

Those Survivors who already didn't have much energy were likely going to start cursing, especially those who were Survivors in teams!

If there were no surprises, the regional communication channel must be very lively right now.

"Although we don't lack energy, there is still an impact. Xiao Qi, your task has become heavier."

"Rest assured, Master, Xiao Qi is very capable!"

Qin Yun didn't say much more, just gently patted the metal wall.

Cat Xiaoxiao, following suit, also patted it, then looked up at the screen and meowed.

"Sister Xiao Qi, you've worked hard."

After the day's battles and various events, Filia also realized how capable Qin Xiaoqi was.

All sorts of miscellaneous tasks were all completed by Qin Xiaoqi!

The map outside the Highway, the location of wild beasts, the vehicle and its various functions...
